When the show had Jerome pull the cut his face off thing, they went too far
This retcon was necessary to have the same actor continue to portray the Joker with a fresh body and face
There is enough backwards weird science/magic/logic that will make him go back to a fresh faced Joker again to face Batman in the future
The Joker shouldn't already have had a cut up face before even meeting Batman as Batman

I mean, if that was the case, they could've used an asspull with the Lazarus Pit/Water to restore his face instead of a convoluted plot regarding a previously unknown twin.

I believe the only reason they went with the twin angle is because they had already claimed too many times that Jerome would not be the Joker. After the character became popular, they knew they just couldn't backtrack on their previous claims, so they went with the twin brother instead.

It's a dumb solution, to be honest. Jerome was already the Joker in everything but name.

The new Joker design looks SUPERB, though, and I'm willing to give "Jeremiah" a chance to become the Clown Prince of Crime. But still, Jerome and Bruce already had a history together. It's so dumb that they are just going to scrap all that.

Jerome's super menacing, but I'm not sure why all the supervillains are following him; it seems like any one of them could easily overpower him. It doesn't really matter though; it's fun to see them all team up.

Why not?

I guess there is no reason why not other than why take him to his final form so soon... there is a thing called progression... but whatever

Yeah this twist for the sake of having a twist, was it really necessary because they were practically beating you over the head with Jerome is the Joker, how could he not be... this is a weird twist that is not really necessary than to insert a twist for sake of twist

Cancellation Bear is predicting Gotham will be canceled:

http://tvbythenumbers.zap2it.com/re...fox-week-28-gotham-no-longer-has-much-upside/

Last month Fox said Gotham was likely to return for a season 5 and it was just the matter of finding a place for it. Hopefully Cancellation Bear simply missed Fox's comments regarding the future of the show.

Gotham is one of my favorite shows on tv currently. Also wouldn't another season give them syndication rights (100+ episodes)?

If they do cancel it, the timing ain't too bad because we are already on our way to the real Joker, and Bruce is not far off from Batsville the way things were progressin

The handling of Gotham has been awful in UK.

S1+2 was on one channel, running months later than in US.

S3 just disappeared until Netflix finally got it, around time S4 started in US I think.

S4 just started airing on a new channel, so super late...and TV fans are pissed off and like "Where the hell is S3 at, can't watch S4 without it". They were expecting a continuation of the last TV shown episode.

Random but I love how it's hard to tell what time period this show takes place in

They should just let Jerome be The Joker. Throwing a curveball like that would just be unnecessary and toss out all the development between Jerome and Bruce. Jeremiah being a red herring is the best I can hope for.
I think this is what's going to happen, or we are just not going to know for sure which one makes it. Since that kind of mystery is the missing element some of those few people always annoyingly complained about regarding Jerome being the Joker, since we knew his history. Which was silly, since Jerome's been a fucking awesome Joker.

Bye Jerome

With the blimp and the gassing crowd thing they should have done a joke from the Burton Batman Movie about stealing his blimp too.

I mean, do ya think it's a great idea leaving the Penguin up there with a blimp full of deadly toxin as a "joke"?

Jeremiah should have suspected that package the moment he opened it and saw the box. Still not crazy about the twist, but Jerome's last moment was pretty cool. Definitely shades of Batman 89.

Yeah. A bit unnecessary other than following through on their old "Jerome not necessarily being the Joker" thing, but last bits were still good and we still get his actor.

Yeah, he should have been tipped off seeing that box after removing the wrapping paper.

This season has been absolutely amazing. Some of these episodes have been "edge of my seat" levels of awesomeness. Still hoping we get a season 5.

Honestly it's one of the most "fun" shows I've seen in awhile and it also manages to take the Batman universe and kind of emulate that comic book feel very well on tv. It's impressive what they pull off here. Especially considering the budget restraints they probably have to work with. I just really dig the entire production of this show. It's cheesy, it's not to be taken 100% seriously, it doesn't always stick 100% to cannon but man is it a fun trippy ride and let's be honest here, most comic book adaptations usually take at least some liberties to make it work on a different medium. Personally I'm ok with how they handle that on this show. If Gotham doesn't get renewed, I personally am going to be really disappointed here.

I love how Oswald feels out of place from these lunatics.
Joker not backing down. Blowing heads off.

The team up of villains made me think their scheme will bigger with lots of twist and turns.

Butch didn't do anything after being recruited.
The gas plan felt anticlimactic.

Overall the arc felt ok. Disappointing end.

That scene was FANTASTIC.

The Joker was born on Bruce's birthday.

I'm going to be very sad if this gets cancelled.

I wish I could pick this series back up but I don't know what episode I was, I last remember Gordon being sent to Arkham as a guard

Are they done shooting for the season? Cause Camren just posted some Instagram stories today and she has shaved her head (not all the way down, but like a #1.5 buzzcut).

And he's finally here, people.

Loved the references to Burton's Batman in this episode. From Jerome's plan to release the gas from a giant balloon (blimp), to his death scene by falling, and still smiling just like Nicholson's Joker. Hell, the camera even spins the shot over his face, just like Nicholson's version. It has been very clear from the beginning that the writers of this show are fans of Burton's Batman. And I love that!

They also managed to sneak in a "why so serious" reference from Ledger's Joker.

And of course, the hair grab while going insane from The Killing Joke.

I would've preferred if Jeremiah actually fell into a chemical vat (C'mon, we all wanted to actually see Ace Chemicals). But I guess being sprayed with a chemical to the face works too.
