Is MS good about replacements? The headphone jack on the controller can be jogged around easily and I'm getting a bunch of crackling in the audio. I've tried multiple cables and it still happens. Will call support tomorrow as it's too late here.
I'm almost positive it is. My One S doesn't have the problem, nor does my base PS4, it's only the Pro. I've seen a firmware update for the B6 listed on a Spanish site yesterday. The change list stated a "PS4 signal loss/handshake issue" that has now been resolved. I've yet to see that firmware released in the States yet. Hopefully it's the real deal.
Sounds more like coil whine, a problem the Xbox One had from day one.At first I was like "this thing is dead quiet" but then I launched insects demo and I was able to hear fan blowing air, nothing special. But when I put my head at 50cm distance I started hearing really unpleasant noise like fan is scratching something with every spin, clicking of sorts(not from hdd, I'm sure). I would like to know how doest it sound in other consoles. Do you have some other noises or is it just continuous static humm of air being blown out?

I had coil whine in cheap corsair PSU and it was actual whine, in Scorpio it's more like faint clicking or grating that changes speed with increased load. Still it changes with load and not with fan speed so maybe it really is coil whine. Anyone else experience the same "issue"?Sounds more like coil whine, a problem the Xbox One had from day one.
No annoying noise here thankfully, just a pleasant and quiet whooshing. My PS4 Pro has an annoying whiney noise in addition to the jet engine sounds. At first I was like "this thing is dead quiet" but then I launched insects demo and I was able to hear fan blowing air, nothing special. its normal. its a coil wine sound. all GPUs has it to a degree. my ex ps4 pro had it. my gtx 1080 has it. and my fat ps4 has it. as long as its not very loud its fine. it doesnt affect or harm your console. you will notice the sound of the buzzing will change depending on what is being displayed on the screen. At first I was like "this thing is dead quiet" but then I launched insects demo and I was able to hear fan blowing air, nothing special. That's how it was on my original Xbox One. Going into a game caused it to happen more. And yeah, the sound of coil whine is similar to a hard drive dying or a fan hitting something repeatedly.I had coil whine in cheap corsair PSU and it was actual whine, in Scorpio it's more like faint clicking or grating that changes speed with increased load. I find it very hard to believe the demand for these is high enough for it to be sold out everywhere. Anyone think MS is creating false demand?
not sold out anywhere here in Victoria, BC - I just walked into an EB Games 10 minutes before close to put one on hold.
This is a long shot but has anyone got the Panasonic Viera TX-58DX902b and if so what are your picture settings?
I've only played Assassin's Creed on it so far. Looks really sharp, but the frame rate seems hitchy. I needed a showcase for the new system, but I kind of wish I had gotten it for my PC for the 60 fps. A patch for a 1080p/60fps mode probably isn't in the cards, is it?
I also tossed in the UHD disc of Wonder Woman, but it doesn't strike me as significantly better looking than a normal Blu-ray. Probably not the best example, but it and Guardians of the Galaxy 2 are the only UHD disc I own.
Ah ok, perhaps its just in the UK, they are out of stock literally everywhere.
We're only a city of 350,000 [maybe closer to 400,000 now], so it wouldn't surprise me if more densely populated countries [ie - anywhere but Kanada] were experiencing more scarcity.
Wonder woman was mastered at 2k in the studio and upscaled for uhd. It, like many others is faux k

I played AC Origins for several hours last night and a good 30 minutes of Gears 4 in 4k mode this morning and I couldn't hear the console at all even with the volume low.
The only time I have heard it was when watching Skull Island UHD Blu Ray but that was the disc drive and it was still pretty quiet.
Very impressed on the sound front for sure.
Probably downloading patch which is huge from memory. That plus the 4k updateTrying to install Halo 5 and I'm still not done after 2 hours. That is so slow....
And I can't do anything else cause the disc needs to stay in the console while it still installs the game..
Is Skull Island 2k as well then? It looked nice but nothing like the 4k demos I've downloaded which was a bit disappointing.
Do you know where I can find a list of true 4k films at all?
Well I got this thing up and running about 6 hours ago and have barely come up for air.
I have been trying every game in my library and I am just blown away.
this has been the greatest gaming day release I have ever experienced. so sick and tired of the new generations when you come home with one or 2 games. to be able to play15 (or 20) enhanced games right out of the box and have everything from Xbox 360 games up to brand new Xbox enhance games has been a treat.
the graphics are finally no compromises. you can feel the power. there's no tearing, the frame rate the 4 K, I'm just thrilled. I've been playing games for 40 years and I've been waiting for a day like this on a console.
So I finally got to experience some HDR gaming. Gears 4 was the first thing I tried because I wanted to check out the split screen setting they have in there. Is that legit? Seems super exaggerated and fake but maybe the difference is that striking. The "standard" side almost made the white on screen look grey. Is this for real or some simulated thing to sell the feature?
Anyone who knows when the new sound ... thing arrives. Atmos i think its called?
Its kind of hard to know if the game has downloaded 4k assets or not? Kind of sad that I cant tell myself but thats the way it is. HDR settings in assasins creed was kind of confusing as well. I dont know how it´s supposed to look?
What's the RPM on it? 5400 or 7200? I can't seem to find it.If you don't mind a power cable - 8TB for $130 (US/Best Buy) - https://www.bestbuy.com/site/wd-eas...-3-0-hard-drive-black/6110900.p?skuId=6110900
Yes if the TV volume is on I dont hear anything. specially if its under the TV like all my other devices.but if you bring the xbox to your coffee table and mute the TV / no AC, you will start hearing lolI played AC Origins for several hours last night and a good 30 minutes of Gears 4 in 4k mode this morning and I couldn't hear the console at all even with the volume low.

Weird, it just autosigned me in when it launched as I was already signed in on the XOk I feel like a moron. I booted up gears 3 and can't figure out how to sign into my account to save my game or play 360 games online.
Any recommendations for external hard drives? What is important? What should that hard drive desperately have to work perfectly?
Thanks for that, I didn't even know 2k was a thing.
I'll avoid 2k films from now on as the quality over Blu Ray doesn't seem worth the extra cost in my opinion.
