Is MS good about replacements? The headphone jack on the controller can be jogged around easily and I'm getting a bunch of crackling in the audio. I've tried multiple cables and it still happens. Will call support tomorrow as it's too late here.

What firmware version is your tv on atm ? I can update mine, but I'm hesitant to do so, maybe it just makes things worse.
Sounds more like coil whine, a problem the Xbox One had from day one.
Ordered Scorpio Edition from Target on the 4th. It said "Estimated delivery 8th to 13th". So I'm thinking "Wow, that could be a bit of a wait, but oh well. Maybe it'll be early." Then I check it just now...arrived at FedEx facility today, will be delivered on the 15th. Guess my copy of AC Origins can stay closed for now.
I had coil whine in cheap corsair PSU and it was actual whine, in Scorpio it's more like faint clicking or grating that changes speed with increased load. Still it changes with load and not with fan speed so maybe it really is coil whine. Anyone else experience the same "issue"?
Edit: I watched few YouTube videos of OG XO coil whine and yes, this is the same sound. Fortunately I can hear it only from very short distance, from 2m away whole console is barely audible unlike my PS4 Pro that blows air like a jet engine ;)

No annoying noise here thankfully, just a pleasant and quiet whooshing. My PS4 Pro has an annoying whiney noise in addition to the jet engine sounds.
its normal. its a coil wine sound. all GPUs has it to a degree. my ex ps4 pro had it. my gtx 1080 has it. and my fat ps4 has it. as long as its not very loud its fine. it doesnt affect or harm your console. you will notice the sound of the buzzing will change depending on what is being displayed on the screen.
and yes you will hear the fan, its normal. but again its not loud to distract you while u watching TV
honestly i find it hard to believe. maybe because you are not testing it like we are ? if you TV is on and ur playing fine you wont hear anything. please read the conditions above if you want to test it. lol

That's how it was on my original Xbox One. Going into a game caused it to happen more. And yeah, the sound of coil whine is similar to a hard drive dying or a fan hitting something repeatedly.

Finally got mine all setup on my B6! Quiet as hell and everything is super smooth and quick. And Assassin's Creed Origins looked great. Just finishing some Overwatch and then starting Wolfenstein! Love this thing so far!

They've got a setting for day- and nighttime and HDR. Just adjust to suit your personal tastes.

We're only a city of 350,000 [maybe closer to 400,000 now], so it wouldn't surprise me if more densely populated countries [ie - anywhere but Kanada] were experiencing more scarcity.
I have just seen there is 1 place in the UK with stock - the MS store. All makes sense now.
I played AC Origins for several hours last night and a good 30 minutes of Gears 4 in 4k mode this morning and I couldn't hear the console at all even with the volume low.
The only time I have heard it was when watching Skull Island UHD Blu Ray but that was the disc drive and it was still pretty quiet.
Very impressed on the sound front for sure.

Is Skull Island 2k as well then? It looked nice but nothing like the 4k demos I've downloaded which was a bit disappointing.

Mine is super quiet too. Everything just runs so well. Everything great so far.
Trying to install Halo 5 and I'm still not done after 2 hours. That is so slow....
And I can't do anything else cause the disc needs to stay in the console while it still installs the game..

Other than the Xbox Live games with gold stuff, I don't own many games. Large ones are Halo 5, Halo MCC, Gears 1 Remaster, Gears 4, and Forza Horizon 3. Looks like it is going to fill up a large portion of the 780 GB it starts with. Probably will end up getting a 2 or 4 TB external. Does anyone have any of those Xbox Seagate ones? They are rated well online and available in Canada. Only portable alternatives, I see in local stores, are the WD portables.

this has been the greatest gaming day release I have ever experienced. so sick and tired of the new generations when you come home with one or 2 games. to be able to play15 (or 20) enhanced games right out of the box and have everything from Xbox 360 games up to brand new Xbox enhance games has been a treat.
the graphics are finally no compromises. you can feel the power. there's no tearing, the frame rate the 4 K, I'm just thrilled. I've been playing games for 40 years and I've been waiting for a day like this on a console.

Finally received this sexy beast last night and after setting up everything I was only able to play around with a few games before heading to bed. A lot of games like Halo 5 and RotTR look a lot more cleaner now with the increase in resolution.
My only gripe is an issue that seems to have plagued the One S and how Netflix will force HDR mode from the launch of the application and the fact that I have light bleed in the borders of a UHD bluray. Does anyone have any solutions to these issues?

I don't see any options either. I'm guessing the performance mode got the boot and it's just the higher resolution mode or something.

I might be a little biased as it's one of my favorite games of this gen but just keep in mind there is nothing to do outside of the single player campaign and the live action story stuff maybe isn't for everybody. I personally loved the story, kind of feels the Flash tv show borrowed a bit from this game to be honest. Gameplay is great, just go in with the mindset that this is a high action, run n' gun game and not so much a cover shooter (if you play it like a typical cover shooter, you will hate it). Kind of almost similar to playing Vanguard in Mass Effect expect a much faster pace.
So yeah, I'd recommend it at any price.

I'll avoid 2k films from now on as the quality over Blu Ray doesn't seem worth the extra cost in my opinion.
So I finally got to experience some HDR gaming. Gears 4 was the first thing I tried because I wanted to check out the split screen setting they have in there. Is that legit? Seems super exaggerated and fake but maybe the difference is that striking. The "standard" side almost made the white on screen look grey. Is this for real or some simulated thing to sell the feature?

Its kind of hard to know if the game has downloaded 4k assets or not? Kind of sad that I cant tell myself but thats the way it is. HDR settings in assasins creed was kind of confusing as well. I dont know how it´s supposed to look?

Have you calibrated your set before hand?
In short though, yeah. SDR looks quite a bit flat in comparison.
I'm not sure if it's in the current public build (it might be) but the current Alpha Insider build lets you check this by going into Games & Apps, pick a game and Press the View Button (Back), which will bring you to the Manage game screen. You'll see in the details to the right whether it's installed or not. For instance Gears of War 4 says: 4K game content: Installed.
Dolby Atmos, search for the App. Not all games have native support obviously (various things on Netflix, Gears 4, RotTR, AssCreed Origins and that Insect Experience thing off the top of my head).

Yes if the TV volume is on I dont hear anything. specially if its under the TV like all my other devices.but if you bring the xbox to your coffee table and mute the TV / no AC, you will start hearing lol
Ok I feel like a moron. I booted up gears 3 and can't figure out how to sign into my account to save my game or play 360 games online.
Yeah I'm sure it is making some noise if I put my ear next to it but I had the volume low enough so as to not wake a 5 week old baby and I couldn't hear it at all.
I've had to stop playing some Pro patched games at night since her arrival due to the fans on that waking her up so it's an extra bonus for me!

Anybody know what Ghost Recon Wildlands got patched to? It looks a lot nicer and sharper when I tried it yesterday. It used to be 900p, so I'm maybe guessing 1440p?
I got the MyBook 4TB a bit over a year ago and it has served me well.
I'd recommend staying away from the USB powered externals as they aren't as fast.
I disagree, it's the HDR that makes the most difference. Even with a 2K master a good HDR UHD disc looks amazing over the regular Blu-ray.
