Two Worlds on the 360. I was hoping that I was going to get a janky Oblivion but I got a buggy crappy resolution mess.

Battle royale (is that a genre now?) and horror. The first because I tend to not enjoy shooters as-is, and battle royale is the absolute antithesis of what I like in the shooters I do enjoy.

Horror because I hate being scared. Can't do horror movies or games.

MOBA for sure. Toxic culture, and it's just a watered down RTS. Its popularity contributes as well. Tons of friends want me to play LoL. I refuse.

I don't "hate" any genre, but I've never much cared for fighters.

Also don't really dig driving sims, or anything that has a primary focus on online/multiplayer.

Damn.

Now I see why Racing,Fighting or Sports game can never win GOTY no matter how good they are.

Hardcore simulation games (sports sims, flight sims, city building sims, military sims, etc.), RTS, western RPGs (especially the older "CRPG" style), MOBA, and gatcha stuff I usually avoid.

Open World games.

Almost none of them justify the size of their worlds. It makes playing them a huge slog.

Collerdoody/popular military shooters. This is totally just me and I want to make it clear that I don't judge anyone on this but I feel like that theme is inappropriate for a video game especially a super popular one that a lot of kids play.

Visual novel.

You're not a good book and you're not a good video game so why do you even exist?

I mean it can be a good book depending on the author. Its not really held back by the genre there. It can be a good game based on how well the developer ties the game mechanics to the story , Like phoenix wright or something.
I think your issue is with the quality of games in the genre rather than the genre itself.

Battle Royale for sure. I just don't get PUBG, Fortnite, etc. They're incredibly boring to me.

I'll change it up a little bit here and say Sport simulations.

Sports games can be fun, but when they tried to go for "realism", and make it all about trying to package their TV experience, into a fucking video game, then they just limit their audience to those few people. Hate the sports games that are all about just massaging the ego of "professionals", and make it all about marketing the real thing as opposed to making a fun experience.

I enjoy games that take a sport and make it a fun video game just fine. Super Mario Strikers, Blades of Steel, Tecmo Bowl, NBA Jam, Everybody's Golf.

Edit: I'm also gonna say fuck MOBAs.

It's a tie-in between Sports games and MOBAs.

And the new contender that is Battle Royale is gaining on them by the minute.

People use 'hatred' for everything these days......

But going by OPs descriptions, certainly MOBAs/hero shooters.
I dont play much RTS games these days but i don't dislike them? Its kind of just indifference. Used to play lots of TA:K, Settlers and Age of Empires though. These days, not much interested, but not against them either.
I like fighting games but fighting games don't like me.

Definitely MOBAs. I've put in hours to see what it is my friends see. They are by far the most boring genre ever. Is it because I loved RTSs so much?

MOBA's. I dont think i hate anything else.

MOBAs for me as well

Sport games. All of them.

Mobas are right there along with sports.

Hate is such a robust expression when it comes to gaming. I´m personally not fond of sports and MOBA-genres. Or any online/multiplayer games.

I can't relate to MOBA's at all. Almost everything else I will at least dabble in from time to time, even if infrequently, but MOBAs are just too unwelcoming for me to have any fun, and I have no interest in conquering that.

Oh, also sports management sims. Like Championship Manager or whatever. I don't know what the hell that shit is even.

MOBA. Fuck that noise.

Mobas, Hero Shooters, Minecraft and Terraria.

Grand Strategy games like Europa, Stellaris, Total War, etc.

MOBAs, racing sims and MMOs as well

MOBAs. I've tried playing and watching them numerous times, because I feel like there's something I'm missing and it will be amazing once it clicks... but it never clicked. I continue to be mind-boggled every time I see the numbers they get on Twitch.

FPS was the first genre I had in mind when reading the thread title, but I liked the old UT games and even some of the CODs on PS3, so I can't throw the whole genre under the bus.

hah, are you me? every now and then when i'm goofing around with nothing else to do i click a dota/LoL stream at random thinking "maybe today is the day where i will finally get why so many people are watching this". I never do.

MOBA eff all that jazz

Online multiplayer games.
Definitively.
All of them.

MOBAS, endless cinematic third person narrative games. The latter shouldn't even be a genre but there's so many of them they may as well be.

Moba and Cinematic action games.

MOBAs and their communities are total turn offs for me.

FPS like Battlefield and CoD. I like to play games to have fun and relax. All these do is tend to make people angry and vicious.

I would say sports but I do enjoy a good golf game on occasion.

To the seventh level of hell, MOBA's should go.

I hated playing defense of the ancients on wc3. So i never understood how that thing grew to become a genre.

MOBAs, easily. My friend tried to get me to play League of Legends for months and when I finally did play it I was falling asleep during the match.

MOBAs for me. Never got the hang of it, and I've never felt so useless in games before.

MOBA for sure. Toxic culture, and it's just a watered down RTS. Its popularity contributes as well. Tons of friends want me to play LoL. I refuse.

Here, duh.
Hate is a pretty strong word. I can't think of any genre I hate, as I think that if there's someone out there who loves it, it's legitimate and deserves to exist.

That being said, I can't see the appeal of MOBAs or visual novels. But I don't hate them. You'll just have a very difficult time convincing me that they're any good.

I think mobas and visual novels are neat but I've only played exactly one of each. Both very popular genres that I'm not very interested in but that's all. No hate.

Cell phone gatcha shit I haaaaaate because it's not just for cell phones anymore. It's a disease.

I wouldn't say hate but I could never get into more narrative driven games, like The Last of Us or The Witcher 3. They're good games and I have spent a few hours trying but I just don't find them very fun to play

Racing. I would rather watch paint dry then play a racing game. The arcady over the top ones are ok. The sim ones like Forza and GT forget about it.

I don't "hate" any genre. It's just a video game. If it's good I'll probably play it. If I bounce off of it then that certain game is something I don't like.

I'm not going to stop playing racing games because Forza 7(example) was mediocre.

I liked sports games growing up but stopped playing them when I was older. No hate. Just play different stuff now.

i really don't know, i love arcade like sports games and quietly envy folks who really get their money's worth from the annual fifa/madden/nba etc. plus i love boxing games, wish we still had those.

i don't really know MOBA's enough to hate them

FPS was something i resented for a bit, cause anytime the default genre of an era isn't your favorite, it feels grating - but really, i enjoy some of those too

mobile games don't often appeal to me, but there's exceptions there too (and god knows ive not really explored it too much)

i likewise don't often enjoy open world, but ill be fucked if stuff like Red Dead Redemption wasn't brilliant. damn, this is a tough question

this is a really really good answer for me - if your game isn't yakuza (or SMT, zelda a few other exceptions) i don't fuck with 100+ hour games. fuck, 50+ hours strikes me as a veiled threat
