Are OG Xbox and 360 cases the same or are there slight differences?
They're definitely a little different. OG are a darker, fuller green. Here's a bad picture

I played through both on my X a couple months ago and they both play fine and look decent. Black holds up better despite suffering from some early FPS problems (enemy spawn closets, etc.) but DTR really pissed me off and I never finished it. The game is hard as balls and they force you into fistfights instead of shooting in some levels and the controls aren't good.

I played Dead to Rights back in the day and it escalates the fuckery to 11 pretty quickly.

This is by far the best entry in the franchise in my opinion. I'd kill for it to be BC.

SSX3 is freaking gorgeous on the X.

XBO's backwards compatibility can't be beat. I was primarily a PlayStation gamer last gen but I've ordered like 20 xbox games so I can play some goodies I missed.

I started playing Breakdown again after a very long time (I've never even beaten the game before), and I forgot; is there a way to manually reload in the game? Also, is there a way to store any food or drinks you find? And finally, is it safe to assume that every instance of "Now Loading" is a checkpoint?

Late edit: I found that you can manually reload with LT, plus I somehow forgot that I still have the instruction manual for the game. However, the manual doesn't mention anything about storing food or drinks for later use, so I'm assuming it's just not possible to do, which really sucks.

PDO doesn't even look like an old game now, except for the compressed FMVs. I'd love to see them uncompressed somehow because the animation in them looks really good.

All original Xbox titles run in 1920 or near 4K native resolution. Otoh, less than half the Xbox 360 titles have enhanced native resolution.

Question: Why can't they apply the same technology to 360 titles that they apply to original Xbox titles? Why can't they increase all Xbox 360 games' native resolution, just like they do for all original Xbox titles? Or can they, but they just haven't gotten around to it yet?

In SSX 3 on the Xbox, apparently the D-Pad is required for flips and rotations. I recall the Stick being usable on the GameCube version, or am I going crazy?

There IS a way to fix that by changing the controls from Default to Pro in-game. However, that also rebinds jump and boost to the triggers. Point being, both modes are messing with my muscle memory. :/

From my understanding, relative to 360 games, OG Xbox games are simpler in how they were coded so it's easier for the The Heutchy method to be applied and tested. 360 games are way more complex in comparison and require more time and effort for it to work, if it even works in the first place for a specific game. I say that because they stated some 360 games won't work, things break in the game, or there's little to no improvement when applied. However that was when they first started and the more experience the Back Compat team has accrued with using The Heutchy Method and the various game engines and different ways things have been coded, they may have or will in the future figure out how to make The Heutchy Method effective in most, if not all, 360 BC games.

This experience and improvements in methods and tools could also prepare the Back Compat team in enhancing Xbox One game, particurlaly ones that never got X enhancement patches, in the future for next gen consoles.

Hmm, okay thank you. I hope they do get it working for all 360 games. That would be quite a boon. Effectively remastering your entire catalog.

I forget where I heard this but the original plan was to boost all 360 games to 1080p however it ended up being too unreliable for most games and was scrapped - this was for the OG console, not the X.

Whats cool for me is this time round I've got almost all the added Xbox 1 games physically, wasn't expecting that as my collection of them isn't the largest but this time round I can try out a bunch of them!

I saw Frontlines Fuel of War when I was scrolling through BC games.

Wow, I remember playing a ton of that game when it came out.

Might have to grab it for the nostalgia.

Is there a list somewhere of all BC games that are One X enhanced?

There's also only a handful of OG games available at the moment, compared to 360 BC games so probably the same challenges exist between the 2.

Anyone had any issues with installing any OG games? I can't install Hunter The Reckoning, it says something along the lines of this cannot be used here.

I've never tried it, so I don't know, it was just an idea. Sorry if that's not helping.

I play just fine. Currently on world 6 out of 8? Been some annoying and frustrating moments. I have to restart entire levels because I dont have a certain time power. Each level is time limited to 10 minites so you cant really take your time (lul)

Once all the major 360 titles are over, the only reason to keep my 360 set up is for Guitar Hero and Rock Band- which will are never coming due to licensing/instruments. Shame

Predicting future OG Xbox on Xbox One BC games - these are the games we should be clamouring for and those we should probably give up on.

Are the ones in red the ones we should give up on?

If so, sorry to hear that. I was hoping the first Buffy game would make it on to the BC rolls eventually. That was a great game. But it's marked in red as "EA no longer has the license," which I guess means obtaining the license would be problematic somehow.

Sorry :( Sadly with this sort of thing anything remotely tricky re licenses likely isn't going to happen.

It's not that obtaining the license would be problematic, it's that the costs associated for a publisher to gain the license just to allow one of their games to become BC on Xbox One may not be worth it. However really good sales of other OG Xbox BC games could encourage some publishers to do it in the future.

This game was built in the 'SLAYER engine' which was pretty great for it's time. I'm hoping we see more from this engine, if not the Buffy games: preferably Indiana Jones and the Emperor's Tomb which also used this engine (to great effect too!) i can see that much happening since Disney is so on board with the program!

With Shenmue 1 and 2 being a thing now, that's my biggest request outta the way.

I've played about 50% of Panzer Dragoon Orta (never played it before now) absolutely loving it, I'm glad the fans/BC community spoke up about this one, it really has that great/classic sega vibe to it and I would've been bummed to miss out on such a well-crafted game!

guys, I've been thinking, would it be possible for any of you long time fans of the original xbox to recreate some of the original gameplay trailers using footage of the games running on one or X ???

I'm a little confused by buying the latest OG batch. They haven't appeared in the console store on Xbone in Australia, but they are on xbox.com/au. I want to buy Conker and play it on the One, yet it only says 360 on the PC store. If I buy it there, can I play it on the One? Are they just being slow updating or are they not going to be available in Australia? I don't want to be screwed over here.

I couldn't find it at first, but it came up on the Australian store for me using the search function... I could buy it, download it and play it all from the console.

I've accepted we wont get Buffy. :( Sucks, I wanted to play both of them again. :(

But Otogi should still be on the cards, I expect it in the next batch in fact. They know what games we want, they knew Panzer Dragoon was a must.

Imagine if they got Metal Wolf Chaos and added it to Game Pass! :D
