Brazil Holy crap, I did, didn't I! That's what I get for scrolling past it quickly last night. Thanks for sparing the noose for today.
Hm, yeah... Sure.

And Brazil wants to enjoy a fleeting moment... a tale from the past: there once was an innocent child, all inexperienced and full of thoughts. A splinter sitting in his paw, paining the child ever so badly. With cunning wits a splinter led everyone astray. Mercyfully leading the child to the end, caressing it dearly in his arms, but not laying one finger on it. Such is the legend of mini 1.1
I don't know what happened in that game, but if I'm still alive by D3 I'll just start doing the exact opposite of what I'd been doing until that point.

So you read the whole thread, such as it is, and this is the conclusion you draw?

tumblr_o7vi6jioZx1s429l7o1_400.gif

turmoil's posts are a series of mistakes and shady moves; the question is not whether this is true, but how to weigh and read them.
It's not a conclusion, it's a thought. You know, votes come off, votes go on. But you're making it hard for me to draw any conclusions at all by not actually answering my questions.

You said you weren't sure if the role turmoil dug was alignment-indicative, but then you said it's a "series (...) of shady moves". So do you think it's scummy or not?

Was there a question, Brazil? Seems to me you misread my take, as best as I can figure, and decided I was reaching and voted me for it, which, whatever. As for your new question, I've actually already answered that twice - I said both times I think turmoil's posts are full of fuckery but I don't know that it's particularly scummy. Could just as easily be bad town play.

I'll say this: turmoil and OJ are playing defense, and apparently trying to lie low (or turmoil was, and failed). Even Stan is being more aggressive than these dudes, and right out of the gate at that. And rac did disappear; I am allergic to saying Sorian is right, but when he's right, he's right. So those three bear watching at least, so far as I'm concerned.

I don't post for a bit and I'm playing defense? Not my fault we're not in the same timezones. Also I would say that this thing wherein the early folks who post in the thread are labeled as !@#$posters because the others haven't posted yet and these others are the ones who're supposedly starting the real game, eh. Train of thought derailed.

Your usage of "shady" in there made me believe your perception of the whole thing had progressed. Alright.

I don't know if I'd say turmoil ever tried to lay low. If he had, he'd probably already have backed down completely from his original idea. Hell, he probably wouldn't even have brought it up in the first place.

I eagerly await some reads or pushes from OJ and rac, though.

Lux went for that real easy bait.
What bait?

Is Lux feeling like extremely artificial to anyone else.
like straight up barby doll artificial.

Sure buddy, whatever you say.

Oh wait, I took the bait again!

No, I'm actually dead serious. I dragged past it and missed it, the thread was already on the next page and I read too quickly.

Watching you luxy, if Stan is right

Digging into the why on that with nothing to compare it to may not get us far yet, but it's certainly something that will need to be discussed. I agree with you that ferreting out what drove that suggestion is a larger concern but I'm not sure what conclusions we can draw at present. It's also such an easy thing to say no to that responses may not be particularly helpful either. Not interested in shutting down this inquiry, just not sure what we can do with it right now.

This is the longest "dunno" post I have ever read.

Watching your back too Sparky.

Going for FEP on talking about a mass claim without even much commentary on the issue.

------

Waiting to see if rac actually comes back. We're also about due for Lone_Prodigy too. Gorlak also came in hot and puttered out real quick but I'll allow the difference of time zones there for now.

turmoil7 seems to be effectively background noise now. I'd likely have moved to Lux at this point but I think it's interesting that his issues got buried with Monkey and FEP being more foreground.

I was being rhetorical and sarcastic Sorian. As for the lack of commentary, it's due to the fact that it's day one and we had no in-game history to go off of. Push buttons, cause chaos, get people talking, even if that means making a fool of yourself.

I wasn't talking to the sarcastic portion of the most, you asked me what bait, I answered.

Not compared to all my other "dunno" posts. Here's what I do know: we don't have shit yet. We have some mistakes, some blanks, some defensiveness, and some drive-bys and don't a one mean shit yet. Near end of day, and around tomorrow, they might.
Vote: Dr. Monkey

Seems as good a reason as any to put down a vote.
You didn't actually give a reason.

I'm gonna laugh for days if y'all lynch me day one.

have you like, read the game?
i think there are already many better reasons for even a day 1 vote but you seems to have just skipped past all of them.

I have that clockwork down.
clearly a result of scum-chat collusion.

take em away boys.

You got 2 in you, I can feel it.

well i do like a challenge.

I'm scum reading Monkey for being more auto pilot than usual and not pulling any threads like she usually does and I'm scum reading Oliver for trying to play down random voting and for general lax behavior. Monkey voting for Oliver hurts those though. We don't have a sample size yet but I don't think Monkey is an early busser.

melon being dodgy is bothering me too, especially since she is still holding on to a prod vote.

turmoil pushing everyone to make sure to have a vote down while he is sitting on a Monkey vote that he did as pressure for early joke voting isn't really a great look either.

Yeah. Lot of wishy-washiness so why not vote based on the most wishy-washiest of the lot?
It's good to see that as strong as the hold meta has on us all, we can continually set it aside for this dumbass belief that being uncertain in a mafia game is somehow indicative of mafia, the faction in the know, and not town, the faction that isn't. 0/10, will never understand this tomfoolery.

I've heard y'alls arguments about setting up potential to play both sides, blah blah blah, but it never seems to play out that way, so instead it's just a lazy default stand-in, especially since LP in particular is one of the ones to always pull that card. Why actually do anything when you can just repeat the same shit every game?

"I don't do well D1" is a pretty "duh" argument, so that doesn't let OJ off the hook, err noose?
This, though, I can get behind. D1 is a shitshow for everyone, but OJ hates being scum and has shown it in past games so he bears watching for this flailing show of activity. Especially since there are some things that have popped up and become worth discussion - notable for a game this small when half the playerbase is still under the minimum with hours to go.

Would not lynch - it's a small list:
  • Brazil - obviously
  • Gorlak - might not have a chance to be here much but was at least trying to move the game
  • Stan - Stan's aggressive so far and I pretty firmly town-read aggro Stan

Less likely lynch candidates for me today (but possible):
  • melonrabbit - not much on the board, but melon seems to take some time to warm up and I don't think what is essentially a shot in the dark on her would be fruitful today
  • LuxCommander - the feps vote was easy, but I don't see it as coming from a bad place. Not necessarily town-reading but figure there's better places to go today
  • goddamned Sorian - this is how he does it - by being more reasonable than the people around him, but I do find it interesting he put up some actual reads. I also think that a day one lynch of Sorian would tell us shit-all even if he was scum, since he's the easiest bus in the land.
  • Comrade Sparkster - Mostly just a presence, but I think all we'd gain from his lynch would be to see who slides easily onto it and that might be too obvious a trap
  • LP - same as above, really
  • flatearthpandas - Could easily move down to the would-lynches but a null for me right now and I don't know that this would be the best lynch choice.

Would lynch:
  • Oliver James - doing absolutely zero but sure talking a lot. Probably my lightest scum read (won't have a better fix on him until tomorrow) since this could just be town ass-showing for day one, but the sheer emptiness does make me wonder if he's rolled scum and is unhappy about it
  • rac - I have to agree with Sorian here that rac is just not here at all and that's not a good sign. I'd hate to see town-rac go down day one again but he's not doing anything to spark a town read at all
  • turmoil7 - I was thinking yesterday that this could just be a case of the mistake-heavy town but the disappearance has my spider sense tingling. Hoping it would all blow over? Hoping to come back today and slide onto someone else's lynch pile?
