I took a few pics of some of the concept art that was on display at the pop up store, you can check them out here: https://imgur.com/a/Rk0jh
Oh my gosh, I literally just got the Zodiac Spear in Henne Mines (FFXII Zodiac Age). The 1% chance chest. I NEVER get lucky like that in games. I actually walked by it the first time, but when running back to zone I somehow saw it and was shocked when I got the spear.
Also, are the abysteels still the go-to grinding method? It was honestly a chore to grind in the original. Part of the reason I never completed all the content in the OG game is that around level 70 it took FOREVER to grind. The speed up in this version should help with that, at least.
1% chance in Zodiac Age. You're talking about vanilla FF12 ;)Isn't the spear 100% as long as you didn't open certain chests, and then it's like, 0.01%? I know they changed it in IZJS to make it unmissable. (within reason).
I never found level grinding bad. I started grinding the bats at level 70, and I think I was 99 with everybody in just a couple hours. With turbo speed it should be even faster.
I'd have to level THF to 90 to get treasure hunter II as a subjob, wouldn't I? If I get that far in the game I might consider that, but certainly THF trust now is waaaaay less work =P.
It depends on how functional you want it to be. Do you need it to be made of metal with a functional trigger? Or is a wood make okay? My replica is made of wood andthe details look fantastic.Wazzy Do you have any recommendations on where to buy a good gunblade replica? I wanted to get one for my brother earlier this year but I was unsure about the quality of them since they were all online.
I've always found it to be a fun game that was extremely overhated on the internet. The hype I had the months leading to release were probably the most hyped I have ever been for a game but I wasn't really disappointed. Fang is still one of my favorite designs in the series and Sazh and Hope were well-written characters. Adore the soundtrack.I platinum'd the XIII trilogy and i maintain that XIII is in the top half of mainline FF games. For me personally, its top 5.
I can't remember. I called my parents and asked if they could find them but no luck.. I was kinda dumb back when I got those and didn't really understand how to play Triple Triad so the cards were more novelty than anything. I would love to get those guys back but at least I still have my figures. I started a playthrough last year (only made it to the Dollet mission) where I was determined to try and get Lionheart on Disc 1 for the first time. Just for the novelty. But then I forgot... I might slip back into it though. Thanks!
I've seen the Triple Triad cards before(binders of them) but there's so many merchandise options for VIII that I've ignored them for now. Did you have the whole set? I can't ever recall an option to pick them up in Canada but maybe it was due to being that rare back then.
It's been my struggle for awhile. I keep wanting to go and replay it(I've done it so many times) but also kind of want to hold off for PS4 version whenever it get's announced. The problem is we have no idea when that could be.

I find most of the metal ones look off and usually are miscoloured. For wood, there is two Etsy shops that craft wood gunblades and they look amazing. There is one that allows the trigger to be functional however it's quite expensive already and that added in will be probably be even worse.
Those Etsy shops also craft Buster Sword and other Final Fantasy weapons if anyone else is interested in where to find replicas.
Where have you been looking if it took you a week lol :)
I realized that afterwards, your level as sub is half of your main, not half of your sub. Got that confusedNah, you'd only need to have Thief at 45 to have access to TH2 - 49 is the highest you need to have on any job to use it as a subjob on a max level job. To go beyond TH2 would mean leveling Thief past subjob levels though, using it as a main - at which point you'd have access to job-specific gear that could bump the skill further.

Oh also p.s., I have no idea why everyone hates Vann. Maybe it's because I played in japanese instead of dubs?? But he's like.. a perfectly fine and reasonable dude?

I think that's just it though. He's just fine which isn't really good enough compared to other FF protagonists.
At least you don't have to play as him. I preferred playing as Balthier anyway because it's easier to keep an eye on the battle when you're out of the action shooting. Vaan is more like the guide to better characters than the protagonist. It REALLY doesnt help that Balthier shows up and LITERALLY says "I'm the leading man"
Kinda makes you go "well.........ok then, fuck Vaan I guess"
Eh, XV had great voice acting, noctis and ardyn in particular, the camp scene wouldn't be so emotional if it wasn't for the amazing performance.
Vaan should have been a NPC character at best and a party member (not the MC) at worst. If I had it my way, he would have been a NPC like Marlene that is a constant reminder of what Ashe, Basche, and the others are fighting for, Penelo would have been a NPC too or scrapped all together to be replaced with a different female character from Rozarria because the fact that 90% of the party are literally blondes and mostly have ties to one place is boring as fuck. Aesthetically, XII has probably one of the least interesting parties (at least to me) as a result of this and it's especially baffling considering that Ivalice is extremely diverse in the races/cultures it has yet none of that is actually represented in the party members outside of Fran (like imagine if 8 of the 9 party members in IX where from Alexandria and how dramatically that would change the perspective of certain scenes in the story?)
To further expand the party,Also, after playing through Zodiac Age over the summer, it made really notice that XII and XV are somewhat inverts of each other? I feel that when one game does something well, the other game misses the mark entirely or isn't as well done. For instance, XII has a well paced opening yet for me, the game pretty much loses everything that made it interesting once you reach Raithwall's tomb. I don't really get what I want out of the characters, the villain is weak, and the end is just kind of eh and doesn't leave any lasting impressions on me. With XV, the opening is kind of weak (and while I don't have wet dreams about Versus like some people do, I can admit that the original opening/Kingsglaive would have been vastly better than what we got). But I feel that the game more than makes up for it with a fantastic ending (probably my favorite in the series). With that said, the world of XV isn't really memorable as I feel that the more interesting parts were breezed by and the open world didn't really do it for me (XII's world is amazing but kind of be a slog without the FF button). There's also the fact that while XII's story has flaws that aren't glaringly obvious and it balances it out with amazing cutscene direction, voice acting, etc. while XV...has none of that. I actually cared more but what was going in XV's story but the presentation is terrible and even with all the patches will be mediocre at best.I also felt that Vayne should have never been the final boss considering the game heavily hints at the Occuria kind of being assholes...and then doesn't do anything with it??? With some changes to the story, Vayne would have worked better as an anti-hero who joins your party (probably forcefully like Cait-Sith) to further his own goals but ends up coming around. PLUS HE USES HIS FISTS TO FIGHT AND HAS BEAUTIFUL HAIR. WHAT A WASTE SE.
However, the main party in XV are amazing and while outside of Noctis, most of them don't go through a ton of development (neither does XII's characters outside of Ashe and Balthier) there is the dlc that has done a good job on expanding on Prompto and will likely do the same for Ignis (and hopefully Luna and Adryn. Gladio is a lost cause). If you're sold on their friendship it's gonna to amplify how much you like this game as for me, it allowed me to look past some of the games faults due to how much I like these four characters. In comparison to the party members in XII, I never felt they were an actual team or grew to become friends. The few moments of 'bonding' where too far in between and too late in the game for me to care. I do find it cool how similar the goals for the protagonist are: reluctant prince/headstrong princess from a powerful line has to win back their throne through gaining power. I think Noctis and Ashe are both great characters although I think Ashe is hindered by not being in the actual driver seat of her own story due to Vaan's entire existence which is unfortunate (I feel she's a misunderstood character as a result). There is more I could talk about but overall I still find XII to be enjoyable but agree with Jotakori on it being a very middle of the road FF and now that the 'honeymoon period' for XV, I find myself still liking but it's middle of the road too.
I think if they had spent more time on the characters in XII -- even if it was stuff as simple as, like, finding your party members scattered around the towns you visit and them having colorful dialog based on the story progression or area? Like even that would have helped the game overall imo. It felt like XII had this great mix for everything to work out -- decent enough story, beautiful settings, interesting character designs (lack of diversity in main party aside), but didn't have enough emotional investment woven in to really make anything memorable.
This is an amazing idea. Although I did come to really dislike Vayne cuz he's a bit of an asshole lmao, if they had done him differently with a whole anti-hero bit that joins your party to fight the Occuria and THEN maybe turned on you guys, that would have been super interesting. Or even if he didn't turn on you and had a misunderstood hero/redemption arc that would have been cool, too. That would have added such an interesting cast dynamic, wow...

Okay I find that impossible to believe. I went from 64 to 70 in an hour with Basch wearing the Embroidered Tippet.
I also tried Zodiark and he was easy peasy... until he kept putting up Palings and spamming Darkja. Just unfair. Apparently if you don't dispel him he doesn't put a magick paling? Guess I'll have to try that.
That's good to hear. I'm still waiting out for TZA to be released on PC because evidence shows it will eventually be but they do like to release them on Steam out of nowhere. It will happen...it will...Personally, I'd put FFXIII #7 in my favorite mainline FF games. It's not terrible and it has the best FF combat system (and best FF battle theme) but the content is the issue. Previously I'd put FFXIII ahead of XII (I wasn't a fan of vanilla XII) but TZA changed it and is now ahead of XIII.

But that's so far away :( FFXV will probably be released before then! The PC version will be out 11th July 2018, you can be sure of that
Anyone know if the PS4 version of FFX/X-2 HD had any share/recording limitations using the share button?
Like any blocked scenes?
I'm pretty sure you can't record the scene with Yuna and Tidus in the water and the final cutscene. Might be some others I'm forgetting.Anyone know if the PS4 version of FFX/X-2 HD had any share/recording limitations using the share button?

I don't remember any in FFX, maybe during Suteki da Ne. FFX-2 had a lot though. You can't even record on the main menu because of the music.
Vaan was fine in the beginning of the game, but he started to grate on me later when it seemed like his only contribution was to say a boneheaded comment every so often.
FFXII is a little sad for me, because the main party feels like such a lost opportunity. I can see how they would fit together, and then they just... don't. Vaan and Penelo could work as the normal citiizen's perspective (you don't need two characters, but they could bounce off each other so it's fine). You have little hints in the game of them serving as a reminder of what the party is fighting for, but it's pretty half-baked. Basch is completely underutilized. He should have an awesome redemption/revenge story, but he disappears into the crowd as soon as he joins up with you. Ashe probably has the strongest individual story, but I still wish there was more of it. Balthier and Fran coast on being likable and aren't given much to do...
Honestly, the whole first part of the game holds together well, and at a certain point the story stops existing and I'm just told to go places and fight things for reasons. It's not that I don't like political stories either. But politics only matter because because it effects individuals, and there are literally individuals in the main party who are involved in everything. I wanted more of a personal investment.
The world is enormous and thought out, though, and it's obvious how much effort was put into towns and cities. Personally, the setting doesn't appeal to me much, but I can appreciate it at least. I'm nearing the end of The Zodiac Age, and the fast forward button makes the game so much better to play for me. When I first played on the PS2, I stalled out at Raithwall's Tomb because everything felt so slow and like I was going nowhere.
I don't know why but I randomly think of this track every now and then and get hit with the feels.
