Destiny 2: Warmind |OT| Mars Attacks!

I'm looking forward to this. Destiny 2 has been solid for me as someone with no interest in grinding 100s of hours. I just play through the new content, occasionally do weekly milestones to inch up power level, rarely do nightfalls and haven't touched the raid.
I just love the gameplay and like the new story content periodically.

Well, I'm excited! I love Destiny in general so any new content is appreciated. Over the years here with Destiny I've learned to keep my expectations in check, so I think I'm going in with the proper level of expectation. Looking more forward to September, and hopefully they have a couple surprises over the summer!
Either way I'm very much looking forward to tomorrow and hope to play with some of the old Xbox clan crew!

That is certainly a lot of exotics from Destiny 1 that Bungie wants us to earn all over again.
I'm trying to decide if I want to redownload D2 and play this expansion (finish CoO first obviously). Like I own the pack thanks to the expansion pass, but fuck the game disappointed me so much.

The whole "starting from scratch" sequel approach might be the worst decision Bungie has and will ever make regarding this franchise.
Really hoping this will hook me back into destiny for a couple weeks at least. CoO didn't hold my attention for more than the 10 hours I played on Day 1. My friends however probably can't be convinced to come back and I really can't blame them. Probably won't be raiding any time soon if ever again.
I'll let it pass because it's not like the guns went extinct or anything after D1...
The raid lair in CoO is pretty damn good. There are technically only 2 encounters, but they are very good and can be quite sweaty. I actually like it a little more than Calus. Think of it more like Crota, as opposed to not a full raid (though yes, I know, Crota has a reputation as a glorified strike, but after AoT at the end of D1 it became quite a fun raid)
Nothing wrong with a raid that's a little shorter, but still rewards mechanically.
That's the thing though, I love the full raid experience. The little mini raids just don't do it for me, even if they are great (which I have no problem believing the CoO one to be.) it doesn't help that I despised the raid we have in D2, so more in the same locale just doesn't do it for me.

Ad Croat yeah did kinda feel like a big strike. But the beginning part of Croat is my favorite raid experience so far. VoG is by far my favorite Raid though.

Will all faction gear from season 2 still be obtainable in season 3? Like the Woodland set from EDZ, for example? That stuff doesn't get rotated out, correct? Just ornaments?
The problem is that you have to re-earn guns again and that they're inferior to their D1 counterparts. How they are distributed doesn't help either.
If they continue relegating new sets to the ornaments section than you will be able to get the base ones for sure. The only things you wont be able to grab anymore are the season 2 ornaments (besides the raid ones) so finish grinding out the IB ones today if you can.

Based on how season 1 to season 2 worked, yes.
All armor and weapons, except the Eververse Omega Mechanos armor, will continue to be available throughout season 3.
Thanks fellas! I already got the Iron Banner stuff, but I have one more strike/competitive win to do for Zavala/Shaxx, respectively.
The guns might not have, but their usefulness sure did. Remember when RLs held 2-3 in the tube and actually tracked enemies? Good times.
Oh, I'm with you, I love the full on raid experience too. More than anything I like the idea of the lair, but feel like it should be something in between expacs. Like you get the big full raid with initial release and the 2 main expacs, and then 1-2 lairs in the time when there is a content drought waiting for the expansion( 1 for each expansion). Extremely wishful thinking I know, but I feel like that would be the perfect use of them.
And for what it's worth, while the CoO lair does take place on the leviathan, the only place that is the "same" is where you land at the beginning. Everything else takes place in the bowels of the ship, all new places we haven't seen. And it's all vex besides a few Cabal guys hanging out. Basically a Vex mind invaded the ship or some such thing and Calus asks us to clear it for him.
If EoW had 1 more encounter maybe and one more jumping puzzle/gorgon maze/dickwall section it would be "full raid worthy". Who knows, maybe Spire of Stars will be a little more
Man, I really miss Destiny. I hit level 20 and stopped playing close to launch, is the ramp up to being raid ready still pretty easy? Is PVP a much better experience than at launch?

The one thing in bummed about not getting is the ghaul ship transmat. It's silly, but I liked it the best.

(By the way, please give us something like the lantern portion of Crota dang it! That was the most fun experience I'd had with a Raid portion. The overall crota raid was meh, relying too heavily on instakill sections, but the beginning was perfect!!!)
I'll wait for peoples impressions on this. I might actually jump in again just because Ive already paid for all this stuff. Havent touched the game I think since November. Some of the changes seem like steps in the right direction but there's still no match making for Nightfall which I think is just plain dumb, particularly at this point.

Well I'll have the pc copy thanks to humble bundle next month lol. Just not the expansions for it.
How is the pc copy though? Well optimized? Gorgeous? That's one thing I couldn't fault the console version 4, they were so pretty.
funny thing is that I started new last night. The grenade speed is a tad bit faster, but that Super speed is WOW. In the opening mission on the ship alone you would be lucky to have 1...maybe two by the end of it before blowing it up. I had 4 almost 5 supers by the end.....thats insane and felt much more fun to do.
Most of the issues with memory leaks and CPU problems were fixed within the first month of launch. I'm completely maxed out in 1080p 60fps lock on a Zen 1700x and my 1070........probably lower harder shouldn't have issues. I think the 1060 was only required for 1080p 60fps lock with a solid CPU
