that shit don't count

i need him to carefully explain, in detail, how much of a fucking idiot one is for enjoying such a fraudulent film

i liked rogue one

Problem is, RLM didn't love it or hate it, they thought it was mediocre. With TLJ, there's far more there to work with. You can tell Mike didn't enjoy the movie very much.

You'll get a full Plinkett TLJ review.

For sure. That TLJ review will be biblical. Definitely won't need to fill half the review with weird ring theory filler like the TFA review.

I imagine making a Plinkett review takes serious time.

Sure, I just wondered if they've said something officaly.

I'm used to waiting on their content. *sad whistle*

of course. they just take forever.

i wonder if they'll do rogue one first though. that was probably in the works after ghostbusters but before the great last jedi shitstorm of '17

I liked Rouge One, more than I liked TLJ. But I agree with most of their points on the movie.

By the way, I really, reaaally want them to do a half in the bag on The House that Jack built, Von Triers new joint.

I expect good things with their TLJ Plinkett review (if there is one), unlike their tepid TFA nonsense.

I wonder if Mike will touch on the controversy outside of the movie, where Disney and Mark Hamill had a bit of a back and forth about Mark's opinions of the movie.

TLJ is interesting because it has moments that stand with the best of the series but also probably the all time worst moment at the end.

I remember when they just left them like a mile away to be recaptured -after some minor property damage- without actually even starting to understand how to change the system that put them there in the first place, because as they soon learned, "their side" was also complicit to it.

I guess we all learned you can't save everyone that day, but you can inspire enslaved kids for the future or something. Whatever.

So before the new Star Wars shitshow starts, what reviews/opinions of theirs have made you question if they actually are hack frauds? For me the big standouts are:
-Mike liking Jurassic World
-Rich liking the Friday the 13th game
-Throwing shade at TLJ while praising Infinity War
-Mike believing in ghosts

Hamill's last tweet really drives home how much he hated what they did with Luke, even with that very obvious damage control tweet he put out saying johnson was right.

Do you mean that in a positive or negative way?

Wait, Mike believes in ghost?
He doesn't actually believe in ghosts (or so he says), he just really likes that spooky feeling that you get when you let go of reason and pretend that they're real, and to that end he's consumed and enjoyed a lot of crap on the subject.

The first and last points are head scratchers. The middle two make complete sense.
Pretty much why I asked if he was being positive or negative.

- Jurassic World was an inoffensive "guilty pleasure" kind of movie, so I thought it was great for the cynical Mike to admit to liking it. It also speaks to some of his other reviews, and makes it easier to predict his positive reactions.

- I've never played Friday the 13th and have no real opinion on it, but Rich and Jack look like they have a lot of fun when they play it, and I really enjoyed when they made Jay play it.

- I thought TLJ was a mixture of genius and terrible, which makes it significantly better than the Prequel Trilogy, but it also felt like it made me lose the last of my faith in Disney's Sequel Trilogy. Meanwhile I thought Infinity War was great and deserving of the praise it's getting.

- Ghosts, I covered above. I think it's terribly shameful and embarrassing, and I love that Mike's so into it.

My biggest "Wut?" issue in RLM is probably when Jay reveals the full depth of his creepyness. It's too much for me. But I'm okay with setting that aside and ignoring it. It's fine in smaller doses.

I'm the same, I don't belive in ghosts at all, but I love watching shitty ghost hunting shows, just because they are shitty. For me it's the ultimate schlok, I know they are trying their hardest to scam people by selling EMF-readers and stuff like that. But that just makes it even more schloky.

Example? I've only really started to dig in to their content outside of the Plinkett videos. Been mainly watching Best of the Worst.

I remember watching this, what was creepy about it?
Perhaps "disturbing" might be the better adjective. I just remembered Mike referring to Jay's appreciation for "creepy sex-pervert movies".

When Jay leans in that direction, I find it entertaining. When he leans as far as the Pink Flamingos episode of Re-View, I get unsettled and check out.

I don't know, I just watched it and it seems he appreciates it for its significance in film history. I didn't get the impression he literally enjoys watching someone eat dog shit.

That sounds like less of a Jay probably and more of a John Waters problem lol

Please don't assume that everyone knows about every tweet from Mark Hamill. He's posting a lot of things, so I have no idea which tweet you're referring to with "[his] last tweet" but I'd love to know.

The standouts for me are Mike liking X-men Origins: Wolverine and one episode of Best of the Worst where Mike and Rich admit to not liking surrealism and non-traditional storytelling in their films. The latter is fine as its just a matter of taste, just a bit surprising for me considering how often they complain about how similar all films feel I would have assumed they would have all been down for that. X-Men Origins on the other hand isn't even entertaining in the way Mike says it is, it's just garbage. That combined with Mike's HitB episode where he seems legitimately disappointed that the movie about a police officer getting caught up in an exorcism plot wasn't really "Based on a true story" and that the trailers misled him really opened my eyes to the fact that Mike doesn't actually have the greatest taste.

The only shot taken is the one you took before reading Hamill's tweet as being as drunk as Mike is the only reason I'll accept you misunderstanding that tweet.
Shrug. No idea what it would otherwise be communicating. Especially when you consider the other 10 interviews hes given stating mostly the same thing as what I'm implying.

Do you have sources for these 10 interviews?
Mauler has like a 6 hour review with about a 15 minute segment of interviews of hamill complaining about luke vs the one tweet he sent out when people started pointing out how obviously unhappy he appeared about it.

Aren't you the guy that's been doing this Hamill conspiracy in all the Star Wars threads?
This is literally the first time I've brought hamill up in anything I've said that's star wars related.

1:10:20ish mark it opens with Hamill literally saying not to go into TLJ with your childhood youre going to be disappointed, which he then tweets in my above post he hopes that doesn't happen in the next movie. Seems pretty evident and I didn't think this would be that contentious of a point to make.

Ah, sorry about that. That post was super accusatory, apologies for that.

I remember someone with a similar looking name going on a crusade about how Mark Hamill was being blocked from saying he was unhappy with the movie and Luke, and that his sudden turnaround after seeing the movie were talking points.

I think that Hamill was definitely disappointed in the beginning, and then as the process went on, he became more open to this being Rian Johnson's movie and character decisions, which he's said in a couple of places. I think the childhood ruining comments are made out of jest, he's a jokester.
