There's speculation that Ron Francis will be the next hire.

Just got an Apple Watch for the first time, anyone here who has one with any recommendations for a first timer in terms of settings or good apps?

I'm good with mostly stock apps on mine tbh. Still looking for good apps though.

My downloaded apps:

  • TheScore - best third party app on my watch. Complication is neat if you want quick access to scores, though I don't use this side of it admittedly.
  • LastPass- useful for quick access to passwords or notes if you use the app in general
  • FB Messenger - out of necessity
  • Uber - gives me info, though I haven't tried hailing a ride on it yet
  • Calcbot - watch calculator. I barely use it, but it's easier to just use your phone tbh

Cool, thanks, I'll look into that. Standard stuff seems pretty good.

This Pridham news is breaking Bryan Hayes' peanut sized brain.

"How can you be an AGM if your role doesn't involve talent evaluation?!?!?"

I'd argue the effective cap management is just as important in the current NHL, don't get why this is so hard to understand.
Pridham is literally the master of Robidas island. The dude wrote the CBA. Every team should have someone whose job is just to manage contracts and provide that type of analysis (but apparently many don't, as I recall Friedman's? comments about people being surprised the Duchene trade came out of Ottawa's front office because they aren't considered "sophisticated" in understanding the cap)

Bob McCown and John Shannon were arguing today about whether Brandon Pridham is a "nerd"

Bob says yes

John says no

the funny part is how John got all offended at the idea that he might be a nerd; "he's a good hockey guy!!!"

Liljigren hasn't been racking up the points but he looks solid. I still want to see that offensive skill he supposedly has.

Pridham's CBA knowledge is gonna keep the Leafs skirting by the rules by a hair.

I mean, helping the team in understanding the CBA more.

The only thing the entire Mark Hunter thing has done is reinforce how locked into their old fashioned views so many of the Good Hockey Men in the media are where they can't possibly fathom how the Leafs not keep the status quo.

Like thank god that Shanahan is actually progressive in his thinking and you can really hear he thought things through in the interviews he gave yesterday.

Also the latest episode of The Leaf Report podcast from The Athletic is really good and has actual insight compared to the hot takes being spewed everywhere in defence of Hunter.

Checking the dudes stats, the guy doesn't seem to have progressed as much. Especially for a top draft pick.

Simplest explanation: Marek was speaking about a different player but Juolevi is addicted to heroin and gambling on dog races.

The detective work continues.

People were also thinking it's Gabriel Vilardi of LA.

He was great after getting back from his injury, though.

Flyer fans have speculated it's Rubtsov just because his production was mediocre this year, even though the timeline doesn't really fit.

Marek shouldn't have mentioned it was a first rounder. That's too much information.
