i fucking love TLOP. it's the More Life playlist/eclectic compilation concept done justice, and the duality theme of the album (family? fame?, escobar? picasso?) works so well
Sensible enough, it really wasn't super clear to me who he was talking about. I can see him going after some duality thing, though, I'll listen with that in mind.
I think it's at the bottom of his discography.
But it's still great. He's that damn good.

TLOP is probably his best album to date, and maybe his most personal and narrative album. Really don't have the strength or will to go into depth about my feelings on it rn but I think it works wonderfully, so long as you know to separate the silver surfer - fade portion of the album as bonus tracks

Which version of TLOP are you even defending exactly cuz I have three versions and don't even know which ones the actual real thing. The whole album was winged for tidal and it was advertised falsely as a gospel album which I will never forgive

I think this might end up a top 3 Ye album for me. We'll see - but even the shitty rips are growing on me. I'm just glad it isn't his worst, and I'm glad he didn't really get political on it. That's a huge bullet dodged.
Literally everyone I speak to tells me what the albums supposed to be about and they're all different things, the album is just bad and adding these borderline made up stories about it makes it even worse. How are you going to tell me it's a gospel album ? The album where he made songs sound completely different and changed the track list order multiple times DOES NOT have a cohesive story or theme. The album shoulda been advertised as "ye's playlist' or "kanye le random lul XD" . It was put together in a hurry, it used songs that woulda been deleted in the final cuts of his other albums, it has some of the most annoying kanye songs , it has THE Worst kanye song ever (saint Pablo)
I'll say it again, TLOP is a stain on ye's discography. He had no where to go but up after that shit. And this album is a good answer to people like me who doubted him after that tidal advertisement gone wrong
I made my own version lol, I feel bad about doing it, but I think Ye treated it with about as much respect. I use a better version of Wolves than the most recent, stuck All Day in there, cut Facts, a few other minor changes. Brings the album from my least favorite of his to somewhere towards the top.
