Ghost Town is like a Dark Fantasy track without any of the polish. I feel like every track on Dark Fantasy was recorded, re-recorded, made sure every line was pitch perfect.

The rough vocal choruses with voices cracking and out of tune notes almost ruin the entire epicness of it all sonically.

From a constructed standpoint, the song is a classic, from execution.. just nah.

I enjoyed this quite a bit.

Its too short if anything. I liked all of the songs.

Not his best by no means but that says more about the rest of his discography more than anything.

i do agree that some songs needed to be fleshed out a bit more, they often end right as they start getting great. Lyrically its not great but I no longer expect that from Ye at this point.

I'll throw this on the playlist and hear it like every week thanks to Apple's shitty shuffle.

Hmm, I honestly find the production of MBDTF to be super uneven, ranging from extreme gloss to sounding ugly and choppy

This album makes me kind of sad - I almost wish all of it was mediocre or bad, because now I'm left wanting a full length LP that has the same impact as the last 2-3 songs. The production is fantastic all around and there's moments of brilliance towards the end, but the lyrics are all over the place and Ye just isn't in the right state of mind to put together cohesive projects anymore. I hope he finds peace and gets the help he needs, but between the scoopity poop Trump bullshit and the same level of inconsistency we saw with TLOP I don't think we're ever going to get a full LP out of him again that's at that old Kanye quality

man, Wouldn't Leave hit hard for me. I've been in that situation where I almost lost millions of dollars and my wife almost left me over it, but somehow we pulled through the hard times and saved the business, and how much it hurt our relationship in the short term... but in the long run she stuck with me and trusted me and we made it through.

Overall the album isn't that great but the rawness on two of the tracks (Wouldn't Leave and Ghost Town) made it work.

Yeezus is one of the most acclaimed albums this decade. It isn't a "this forum" thing unless you purposefully ignore reality.

Critics loved it, public was more divided. I remember the Yeezus release and social media collectively shitting on it. That's when I quit taking publications like Pitchfork seriously when they called that trash a classic.

But hey, do you.

i've thought about it and put way more time in it than i think you have. please think about how people can have different perspectives to you and easy headlines wow.

No.

Think about who you're supporting. Geez.

Make a decision that will matter for once in your life.

Edit: OT really sucks

Yeah, you're just making stuff up.

Social media was absolutely not "collectively shitting on it."

That's when I quit taking publications like Pitchfork seriously when they called that trash a classic.

Except it wasn't just PItchfork and was on every major top album list that year -- which makes sense as it was one of the best reviewed albums of that year.

Calling is trash is just hilarious.
