I forgot how insane the "Defeat the Forest Dragon" mission is on the original adventure map, the one that unlocks Link's Gauntlet weapon. As soon as the level starts you are surrounded by Big Poes and Lana, and while you are fighting them around another 10 or so Big Poes join the fight, it's absolute madness. So much fun though

Heh, I remember that mission in the Wii U version, it was incredibly unbalanced. A level 60+ link with Master Sword could barely make a dent into lana's HP.

It's pretty funny how you can cheat on some adventure mode missions. I remember struggling so much to get an A rank on missions where I had to use Agitha or some other shitty character, but now I just switch to Link the second the battle begins if I can, lol.

I guess it's better to use the worse character for leveling up, but whatever.

I wanna smack whoever designed Volga as an enemy across the face.
Bastard seldomly exposes his weak point, and, when he does, it disappears way too fast...

He's difficult until you realize you can force him to reveal his weak point by attacking until he blocks, and then dodging behind him. It'll only come up for a second, but that's enough to hit him with a C2 and break his gauge.

Volga is still an enemy unit you need to be wary of because he has ridiculously long reach and equally ridiculous quick attack strings. And the game expects you to get the second gold skulltula on Shining Beacon by facing his Hyper mode form with Lana's Spear, lol.

It was much easier this time around, did it around level 40 with the master sword and absolutely destroyed them, was super fun. Not as stressful as it used to be either since you can take more than 4 hearts of damage

Lana is just so much effort for so little damage. She's frustratingly terrible to play as. So, of course, I have to play as her a lot to unlock good stuff. Yay.

Twili Midna, though, is actually kind of awesome. She's a bit slow, but her attacks do massive damage and have a wide range, so I can't argue with that.

And, is Ghirahim one of the best characters in the game? Because he feels OP when upgraded.

Speaking of Lana does anyone tried the old glitch to have 9 millions rupees in seconds?
Not that I managed to ever do it. Just curious on how few things Koei changed in this version.

Do you think the game will have patches ? Some QoL fixes would be appreciated. Multiplayer without splitscreen too.

The boomerang is your best friend in those missions.

Bollocks, dunno why I never thought of trying that. Ta!

A general tip for The Imprisoned. Just realised this; a fairy blast will knock out all his toes in one go. Still a pain in the ass overall but with an upgraded fairy you should be able to get off two blasts before needing to bottle hunt.

I can't vouch for Girahim as I haven't played him much. Truth be told I have him at 40 with a rank 1 weapon still and am still getting my butt kicked on some levels in Adventure mode because of how unfamiliar I am with his moveset.

But I can vouch quite heavily, and enthusiastically for Twili Midna. She's probably the strongest Darkness based character in the game, hands down.

Her Kit Is very powerful, and has a broad range of applications, from the cannon being able to go insane distance to hit incoming powerful enemies, to the bridge she summons being pretty much able to say **** you to any opponents guard and sweep them up into the air anyways. The only real issue with her I'd say is her Weak Point smash takes a bit too long. That may be because I don't have her fully upgrade but I believe usually people say use her wolf riding summons to do the first attack, then use her C1 ( Gods I cannot emphasize in enough words how much I love this equivalent of a nuke to the face ) to deplete the rest of it. Usually, that works pretty well, but it still feels kinda slowish to me.

She is especially good for taking keeps out in no time flat. Probably the best, to be honest. She is ridiculously powerful and her moveset kit truly emphasizes just how strong of a character she is in the Zelda Lore. In my opinion she's very close to Ganondorf's own state of power in her true physical form. And I love Koei Tecmo for making her this ridiculous as I feel she truly deserves this level of emphasized power.

Also: Midna = Best companion for Link ever.

Ghirahim = Probably the best damned villain the Zelda series will ever see.

The worst thing about Lana, outside of being an awful fanfic Mary Sue, is that she clearly stole Saria's place with that spear moveset.
I mean, Zelda aped the Wind Waker representation with an awful weapon too, but we still got a full sized Wind Waker expansion in Legends!

Ghirahim is pretty good on 1 vs 1 thanks to his Strong Attack. It marks a target and your C2 and 3 (I think) will have additional strikes.
He's also very stylish.

As for villains, though, I have to give it to Zant. Character quality aside, the way his madness was translated into his moveset is brilliant! Not only is he very well animated, the overcharging makes sense when you consider how the final battle against him plays out. In my opinion he's the character that was better translated into HW.

To me the best surprise in HW with characters is Impa. I don't really like to play her but her design/moveset/personality are very good !

I still use more Sheik (water shield and fire trap ftw), Cia (YX spam for crowds is real, and she's so good against bosses with Dark Links summons), Ganondorf (I underestimated trident for so long...) and Volga (YX attack spam is terrifying on 1vs1 and.. I just love the character). I'm starting to like Yuga too, fast and good range attacks (just annoying sounds ><).

Impa is a total power trip to play, she's not exactly exciting but you can feel like a total badass playing her

And the recent talk of Ghirahim... he absolutely dances circles around every enemy in the game delivering death in seconds if you can learn to use his strong attack and dodge cancel out of his long animations

I can only maker her work if I spam that move the makes the giant beetle spawn in the circle. She's legit the most boring character.

I will take her over Lana's "Sore~!" every two goddamn seconds.

Yup. Her goodness focuses on you being able to do and cancel c3 very very quickly. You can basically build a weapon that exploits it.

I don't really like single combo characters.

Agitha's not the worst one of those, I guess, but I also hate her as a character.

I know Agitha can be effective, I just can't get over her standard attack range and boring combos.

Her, Cia, Zelda, Lana and Wizzro are all characters that I avoid because I really dislike their movesets.

I've said it before, but Agitha really only needs C3 and C5 for most situations, provided you cancel the end of any in-air special with an attack instead. C4 is great for killing things off screen too.

Her WPS is absolutely bonkers; only Ganondorf's comes close to how good it is. Good thing her C1 gets the break on anything 99% of the time too!

I just got my butt handed to me by Argonak and Zant swarming me in Legend mode on Hard. I just wanna unlock the hookshot, dammit.

Huh? Lana's book is pretty awesome in my experience, especially when you learn how to use the explosion on left-over magic blocks/walls. She's done really good for me with that weapon.

And I wanna love Wizzro, but his biggest issues is the fact none of his attacks have push-back so he gets hit a lot by enemies rushing him. Zelda has the same issue.

Agitha's biggest flaw is how long her WPS takes---Tingle has the same issue, to the point I kind of don't want to get the weakpoint bar down because it's annoying haha.

I really enjoy all of Zelda's movesets, the rapier especially but the other 2 both feel very fun to use.

The rapier allows for insane control, you can literally turn and move in any direction during any part of her combos, you can alter her combos to your choosing by deciding to use the light orbs or not and she has amazing options either way, with the only really bad move being her C2.
Breaking through weak point gauges is super easy due to the multiple hits on her strikes and she gets close really easily with her standard attack string so she is pretty insane at fighting one on one.

The Wind Waker has some amazing coverage moves that are incredibly satisfying to use, you just have to know how to position her correctly as she doesn't move during her combos like most characters.
And her dominion rod is pretty much the same.

Cia is also a great character, she is solid for taking down mobs of enemies, fighting one on one and breaking weak point gauges and for defeating giant bosses.

Lana And Wizzro are hit and miss but do have their strengths, for example Wizzro is also incredibly good against giant bosses and Lana's summoning gate has one of the best moves in the game

I know how to use them and that they aren't bad, (I don't think any moveset in this game is completely useless) I just don't enjoy using them.

Never liked rapier users in Warriors games so even though Zelda can be amazing I just don't want to use her ever. Wind Waker is my favourite weapon of hers, the whirlwind does crazy damage if you charge it up.

My favourite Lana weapon is probably the spear so I probably just have weird taste.

Conversely, she saved Saria from having to use that awful weapon.
The Kokiri Sword and ocarina/fairies are better fitting weapons for Saria, but daring to suggest that Skullkid was a bad inclusion who stole a weapon from a more deserving character will draw the wrath of irrational MM fanboys.

(But for reals, it should've been Majora's Wrath instead)

Agatha has too much going against her to truly be good. She has some good combos and she's decent in the right hands with dodge-cancelling, but that doesn't absolve her from her slow attack speed and even slower combo strings.
Yes him, Sheik, Zant and Twilight Midna
From what I was able to dig, a lot of people will include some of the following characters in their top 5: Young Link/Crossbow Linkle/Twili Midna/Sword Ganon/Master Sword Link/Sheik/Volga

I'm just getting started with the game. I played it a lot on the Wii U and loved it... Although, now taht we played Fire Emblem Warriors, I really missed the option to give orders and pair characters.

I love Agitha, her design, her weapon but her moveset is a real pain. Wish they impproved her. I know they can do it. I think she's based on Peronna moveset from Pirate Warriors, although, she's kinda fun to play and Agitha isn't.

Same here. I like playing as her.
I also like how they portrayed her character. She's sort of a free spirit, naive but yet willing to help all she encounters. I laugh every time she runs "away" from Hyrule castle.

I honestly thought Linkle sounded dumb a year or two ago when first announced, but now that I've actually played the game I really like her. The name grew on me too. I def think she will be incorporated into the franchise at some point down the line. Too good of a design not to.

Yeah, if Linkle had just been a straight up female Link, she would have been pretty lame in my opinion. The Link inspired, but distinct, outfit looks really great though, and her crossbow fighting style makes her a unique, fun character to control rather than a costume swap. Make Linkle's Crossbow Training happen, Nintendo!
