Even if they don't, they should want what's best for Fortnite in general which is getting Sony to cave on this.
You're right, them doing something *SIGNIFICANTLY* less bad a decade ago that Sony also did, that's very comparable to what is happening now.

Companies evolve, they make decisions based on the marketplace at the time.
Buying a console based on policies/results of the previous gen is not a good consumer move. Being loyal to a company in general is usually dumb. Every new cycle of consoles brings new policies/games/factors which influence our purchases.

I'm a console warrior for explaining why Sony not allowing crossplay is nowhere near a big enough factor to cause me to switch my platform? Word.
No reason other than being dragged through the mud over crossplay for the next two years.
This is pretty much it for the vast majority of people. Cross play on a handful of games (of varying quality) or...everything else.
Now if cross play was a more common thing then that might be something but it's not and likely won't be anytime soon.
It's been so long, but I honestly can't remember if I even needed to re-link with Fortnite, since I had previously linked with Paragon (which also allowed cross-buy, save, friends list). Forcing a solution where you need to manage two Epic accounts is bogus, since you can *buy* games in the Epic client. It's like asking ppl to link one Steam account to PS4 and another Steam account to Switch. Whatever Sony policy is requiring this behavior and approach to crossbuy (since, PS4 <> PC purchases travel) should be fixed. Fast.
This is what I think too unless it gets really big. Its catching traction more than ever before but its still not enough or as crazy as #NoDRMPS4 hashtags and all that before this generation.

I can't believe the company that was grinning ear to ear as Microsoft got devoured by the media and gamers, that release cheeky videos and made statements about how their pro-consumer approach; is now willing to be the dumbest and unnecessarily dickish assholes I have seen in awhile. EA we're idiots for the loot box mechanism they employed in Battlefront 2. Guess what though, they came out apologising, stopped and changed the system, and promised to not employ such tactics again. People have moved on (although they somehow get a pass for FIFA).

Nope, there was no warning. And a lot of people had linked their accounts before cross play was even a thing so they really had no way of knowing it was going to come back and bite them like this.
Because its bigger if they announce any positive thing in one conference isnt it?
I haven't had a game that's made me start a subscription on that yet and the mobile app and voice chat completely killed any interest in it. If a great game comes out that I'm interested in though I would be one of those people that get the subscription despite not really using it.
Yikes that the software available influences my platform of choice more than a bad business practice that has zero impact on the way I experience games.
I wonder if Reggie will comment on the controversy, I just can't see him attacking Sony directly about this. Probably just bring up the 2million downloads thing and push the Switch.

I could have sworn they had a lighthearted exchange with either the Xbox or PS team a while back, but maybe I'm misremembering.
How are they linking the stock drops to the Fortnite issues? Didn't Nintendo's stocks also drop this week?
Isn't having multiple platforms kind of the opposite of being a console warrior?
