I guarantee you the number one priority for this remake is going to be having Rose brutally murdered onscreen. Preferably whilst racial and sexist slurs are hurled at her. That'll please the "real" star wars fans!

Uhh Star Wars fans are the worst fans of any fan culture. In Yoda's voice: "bunch of bigots and dorks they are, get a life they must, failure a great teacher is"

And why I want a redo of maybe the best SW film out there?

Episode XI will suck man, Disney trying to please all these dorks.

I mean, I'm a fan of star wars (not sure I'd say die-hard as some others) but I never understood the hate the movie gets, I loved it! But even if I hadn't, I wouldn't be doing these kinds of crap.

Though I reckon this may not have to do with any script issues they may have had with TLJ...

I'm a man without a country. I hated this movie, and I think it's terrible, and it actually did dismantle what was left of my Star Wars fandom -- But (at least on youtube/twitter) the majority of people who agree with me seem to be manbabies complaining about SJWs. Obviously -- That's not my complaint with the film.

Suffice it to say, what I would want out of a hypothetical redo wouldn't be for Luke to turn into CG and kick ass. I'm pretty indifferent on that. I'd settle for character actions and motivations that make any sense, story threads that lead logically from the previous film, and lore/rules/whatever consistent with Star Wars at large. I'd also like fewer dumb jokes and stupid shit and a tone that is in my mind more appropriate to the series.

This is the most cringeworthy thing I've ever seen. A bunch of adults upset that the franchise of children's movies they've based their entire life and self worth around is no longer built to cater exclusively to their emotional needs.

It seems like there are more worthy causes like I don't know, WORLD HUNGER? OR CURING POLIO?

But no let's raise $500M because we don't like this movie. Fucking nerds. I swear to god we are the worst sometimes.

While a complete remake is kind of unlikely, this movie would need a severe reshoot of several parts in order to become fantastic.

People on an internet gaming forum pointing their fingers and calling out the passion and devotion of those fans is kind of ironic, though.

The hatred that some people have for this movie baffles me. Maybe it's because I've never been a big Star Wars fan but it's probably my favourite in the series.

I like that you can pledge without committing to anything so the total number they have is completely inflated.

That and the Auralnauts vids redeem them. I don't get worked up about the prequels but they condense the timeline too much and don't tell a compelling story for Darth Vader. We can do better.
I agree we need more Vader.

The Vader Comics (both Vader 2015 and Dark Lord of the Sith) are pretty good, though. There's also an upcoming Thrawn novel where Vader will have a more prominent role.

Saw this on a flight recently. Thought it was pretty good. I liked Rose, was an interesting addition to the roster. Not a die hard fan of Star Wars though.

She was grating in every single moment, and poor John Boyega relegated to clunky side character.

Of course it was a movie, the whole insults on Instagram fiasco was terrible and uncalled for.

She wasn't a problem at all.
It's just that that whole sequence was worthless and inconsequential to the main and more interesting character arcs and plot

I think there's a massive difference between passion and borderline insanity and unhealthy obsession.

Lol

Yes tlj was a terrible star wars movie and shook my faith in the series but this is embarrassing. I may still see the next film given Abrams did a fantastic job last time, but even then, I gotta wait for reviews. Tlj ruined sw for me. I had no desire to see solo because of it. Hopefully Abrams can get me back on board

He overthrew anything introduced in the 7th movie, so that's why I think he was trolling (Snoke, the helmet, Luke being the savior)
Luke is the savior still. He obviously went to the island for a reason, were people actually expecting him to just be like "Oh, hell yeah im game let's save the day!" He went into hiding, he was always going to be hesitant.

TLJ is the best Star Wars movie (maybe second behind ESB, recency bias and all). It's almost perfect already, and knowing all these incel man babies hate it makes me love it even more.

Working on that also.
You know I thought the last Jedi was just ok and didn't really think about it that much after watching it. Then I hear all this outrage online about the movie with people both loving it and hating it. And I'm just sitting here going "It was ok".

REY: What's inside the cave, Master?

LUKE: Only what you take with you. And microscopic Force ghosts. You'll love how visionary those are.

*REY enters the cave. It's exactly like the one out of Empire Strikes Back because of the poetry and George's superior vision*

REY: Hello?

*REY stumbles back, aghast. It's KYLO REN.*

KYLO: You've come back to me like I knew you would because I'm a good guy who'll treat you right.

REY: But I don't want you. I love CHAD DAMERON.

KYLO: When did CHAD DAMERON last call?

REY: ...

KYLO: Exactly. I'd call you every hour of the day.

REY: Okaaaayyy. I have to go now.

KYLO: And you'll call me won't you?

REY: I might be busy later. Bye.

*REY runs out of the cave*

LUKE: And?

REY: It was KYLO REN. He just won't leave me alone. Is this the lesson? That the Dark Side will follow and pester me until I have sex with him?

LUKE: You have taken a step to a more enlightened future. Now concentrate. You can hear it. The Force. Dark and Light. Listen. Accept the message it has for you.

REY: I... I hear it.

LUKE: And what it is saying to you?

REY. Send nudes.

This is one of the saddest/funniest things ever. I know some people hate this movie but I think it's time to move on and accept it, see if they stick the landing with IX.

I don't know how they expect to pay $4 - 500 Million (production and marketing costs), convince the actors to return to do a movie they already did, and more. They also want fans to write the movie which sounds like a recipe for a disaster.

All the filmmakers to this point seem like they've been Star Wars fans but they're filmmakers first and try to tell good stories.

If I never read the phrase "stick the landing" again I will die a happy man.
