Rottentomatoes and other critic aggregates aren't that great of a system. The demographics are off and you can usually see wildly different scores between all and top signifying just how not how accepted the score is overall.

The more ya read into those websites the more you see how they work.
Not to mention, at least with RT, a lot of people read it wrong, as they think the percentage is an aggregate score, when it's more how many people generally liked it. In theory, a film could have an 100% RT score while having all high sixties-low seventies scores.

I'm sorry not siding with internet conspiracy theories is shit posting now? Why would they lie about audience scores for TLJ? Or Gotti for that matter? Why would I believe some internet dudes over the site itself.

You should believe President Trump over everyone else, too. He's the President, after all.

Would be funny if they did let it happen, the movie might end up being better then TLJ which is very easy to accomplish

There is almost a 100% chance it would be a massively worse film on almost every metric.

But, it would please some people's headcanons more, so some would say it's better.

For something to be a conspiracy theory, there must be nothing legitimate at all that backs the claim. For Gotti, there is actual proof that they are lying when they said that the user score can't be manipulated. They don't want it to be known that people can manipulate a user score purposefully with a large enough campaign. But it can. This isn't arguable. If you think Gotti's score is legitimate, you're being disingenuous.

On top of that, there were threads on 4chan that were designed to bring down the TLJ user score because of it being an "SJW film." This is a fact. And I know you have seen the large alt-right/sexist backlash on the film. That doesn't mean all or most people who dislike it are alt-right or sexist but it is a large and vocal group of people.

No one is saying The Last Jedi would be at 95% user score on RottenTomatoes. Even The Incredibles 2 isn't and that's very acclaimed. It's at 87%. The Force Awakens is also at 87% and we know that The Last Jedi was more divisive. So it's not like people are expecting The Last Jedi to even be at 87%.

But 45% is bullshit and you know that.

Dot Matrix with stereo sound
I'm reminded of that time before Smash Bros Wii U came out when, at a developer round table, a fan asked Sakurai if he could help him balance the game. Sakurai's response was "....have you ever made a game before?"

Spend the money on giving all the haters chill pills, or on inserting Jar Jar into the movie for all the fans who suddenly loves the prequels.

Best Star Wars movie since Empire. Shame that so many people can't handle a movie that didn't do what they wanted

Nothing in that article you just linked cites any hard evidence that links the discrepancy in audience reviews to fake accounts, OR that RT is lying about it. It shows a large discrepancy and thats it.

You should believe President Trump over everyone else, too. He's the President, after all.
Lmao the reason i distrust Trump is the same reason I don't buy this argument. You have no evidence hardlinking the discrepancy in reviews as being fake or that RT knows theyre fake and are lying about it.

At this point with all this stupid backlash, I want Disney to never make another Star Wars movie again out of spite for these people.

Yes, the dream scenario would be that Disney realizes the insanity and venom of Star Wars fandom is too much of a liability for their brand and they decide to shelve the whole thing for the foreseeable future.

TLJ was S-tier dog shit, but at some point you have to just let it go and hope for the best in the next one

The delusion with a select group of you anti-TLJ people is really and truly something to behold.
Shrug asking for evidence is now delusion. Okie dokie buddy. Straight up lying about the articles you link is fine tho. You can infer from it what you wnat but don't sit here and say BS like "its objective proof that these accounts are fake" (you don't know that) nor that said citation "proves RT is lying".

It still surprises me every time I hear people complain about TLJ. I left the cinema very happy with the movie (casino planet excepted) and though people would be generally happy.

This news story is just sad.

I really liked the film personally /shrug

I thought the casino heist part could have been trimmed a bit, but I don't see what the big fuss was about.

Yeah, it's weird. My friends and I walked out of the theater feeling generally good about it, and then spent 40 minutes talking about it, discussing themes and character arcs, and suddenly went 'Wait, was that movie actually brilliant?'

Everyone please support my patreon and I'll develop an ERA mod that will automatically replace the keywords "Star Wars", "TLJ" and "Last Jedi" with "God Emperor Zach Snyder".

It'll make your daily browsing of etctera that much more fun.

The only thing that'd satisfy these losers would be:

STAR WARS
The Last Jedi

Ext: Some planet.

REY and ROSE both die straight away because reasons.

INT: Spaceship

FINN, POE and KYLO REN lightsaber duel for an hour and a half until HAN SOLO AND LUKE SKYWALKER join in and kill REN, who doesn't show any insecurity or conflict throughout the whole time and instead is all badass.

Our 4 heroes laugh heartily and bro-fist

At some point DARTH VADER reappears

FIN

Dude this made me laugh really hard. Thanks :D

Re-watched TLJ on a flight, and as long as I skip the Rose / Finn subplot (which, as a Finn stan and asian, hurts so much lol) - it is a pretty darn good movie. It did take a third viewing (saw it twice in theaters) to realize just how terrible the Rose / Finn subplot is tho. (I'm totally a Rey / Finn shipper, fwiw)

This is one of the most inane things I've ever heard of, lol.

This is a fan project being made right now.

Obviously no fan project can match the budget, resources, staff levels, or skill of professional filmmakers or (especially) actors. But some fan projects are getting to be pretty decent.

I think fans could easily come up with a far better outline than Rian Johnson did though, that's for sure. Making that into a whole film though is a pretty tall order. Either way, I don't get why people trying to make something are being called pathetic. At least they're trying to do something instead of complain all day.

As bad as the movie was, holy shit people need to let it go. Its ok to be a fan but this crazy obsession with a movie and pretending that a bad movie destroyed your childhood and physically violated you is insane.
Nerds are an embarrassment man.

You guys calling Star Wars fans "nerds" on a niche video game forum is hilarious.
I don't even like SW, but like the Mass Effect 3 fiasco, fans want a satisfying end to the characters they love.

Because it is an utterly ludicrous suggestion; they are not going to raise $200-500 million, they are not going to get the rights, they are not going to get the actors back, they are not going to make a movie that brings in a billion dollars at the box office. There's nothing about the idea that has a chance in hell of happening. It's a complete joke. It's an enormous waste of their time. It has at least provided some amusement today.

They are better off quietly writing some fan fiction together until they have a script or novel worth sharing, or heaven forbid, throw all that passion about what makes for a good story into writing something original in the same style where they'd have control over the whole thing to their liking.

I really wish I could poke my head five years into the future just to see how the general opinion of TLJ has settled.

Anyway, this mega-entitled fan culture continues to be incredibly disheartening.

The one upside to this TLJ shitstorm is that perhaps big entertainment companies will start to think it's in their best interest to do whatever they can to discourage toxic fans instead of tacitly profiting from them as they have in the last so many decades.

EASILY come up with a FAR BETTER outline? I think you need to read more fan fiction and watch more fan films. I remember all the fav fan rumors about what TLJ would be. Luke had gone evil or was a "gray jedi" or Snoke was Plagueis or or or - all terrible, all far worse than TLJ.

TLJ was divisive because it didn't play it safe. It wasn't Star Wars by committee. And to make it worse, SW fandom (like so many other fandoms) is filled with people who feel that because they love it they have some sort of weird claim on it, or ownership of it. This thing is case in point. It's really embarrassing.
