Wow, that Venom is really nice! I like your style.

I made a digital composite of some pictures I took and my friend's picture of the moon. I want to sell this one as an art print but I'm pretty inexperienced at selling art, I just uploaded it to Society6 for now.

Here is a photoshop mock-up of an oil painting I want to do using vertical masking, I mocked it up first just to see how the colors will work before masking everything.

A couple of drawings I did this past week.

I've been looking for texture brushes that 'do that' (specifically seen around Venom's crest). Can ya share? :S

I posted a character design process on my ArtStation: https://www.artstation.com/ianbarker

Awesome!!

Wow! What's your process for coming up with something like this?

Not that you asked me...cuz I don't really post here enough. But it helps to 'start small'. Literally. Essentially you start with basic shapes and design (NO details yet) and do repeated passes to fill in the blanks. Let your mind go and see what comes up. It can be a lot easier to get the creative ball rolling if you literally don't think too hard at first and simply start with a strong and captivating silhouette.

Sorta like writing a good essay: Get your ideas out and spend the 80% of the remaining time editing and refining.

As you can see Serv's first set are incredibly basic sketches on the left that just get the gist of the design. The designs after hone the idea.

If you're looking for how to get ideas... I dunno, find a joint and smoke it and creativity tends to fflow, or go for a walk or just keep looking around you to get inspiration. Start to think about designs, practical uses, fashionable flares, the 'world' you create in.

I got inspired once from the way some leaves fell on the ground. :P

Nice work everyone!
I finished this D&d fanart last night. The crossbow wielding bard was a specific request. Then I had an idea for Loxodon cultists in ancient ruins and worked on this.

Hi! I actually used some photo bashing on his chest by placing some deep sea creature photos on him, and the "soft round pressure size" brush to paint on top of the texture.

The symbol on his chest was done by duplicating it, then reducing the opacity of the bottom symbol, and then erasing off bits from the top one.

Regarding brushes, I've been using Shaddy Safadi Brushes for the longest time, along with the Kyle brushes in Photoshop and some others I have picked up along the way.

Raging Spaniard That's coming along great! I should tackle a horse drawing someday, I need the practice.

Man this thread has some tremendous art in it! You guys are suburb. I have long been a little hobbyest of illustration and digital art, but I have been dormant and out of practice for many years. I also don't have he best technical polish to figure drawing at all. But I was inspired to draw again to illustrate my idea for a hypothetical Space Jam part II. I'm pretty proud of it. I hope you guys like it, and more importantly, like my idea for Space Jam part II.

All right, I never cross post fan art; I just post it in the relevant community thread, but I'm really proud of how this one came out and I just gotta share it here too.

"I should practice drawing faces."

"Huh, that drawing of Demi-fiend turned out really nice. I think I'll ink it."

"This seems like a good drawing to practice some comic-style colouring with."

Gonna put this image on hold.......maybe.

Its a good comp! Some suggestions:

-Cid resting his spear on his shoulders would fit well here (dont wanna hide the hands)
-Raise the buster sword more, youll get more bang for your buck that way
-If Caith Sith is gonna be on the megaphone, maybe arch him back as hes yelling to really sell it?
-Have Aerith have her hands close to her face in some sort of prayer

All good points. Will def try to execute them!
I might make the canvas a bit bigger too. If it goes well, I will probably make an opposing image of Sephiroth and the Turks.

I promise I won't take as long as SE to finish!

And I still can't draw left eyes to save my life. I need some tips people.

All I can do is to recommend looking up tutorials like theses-
https://snigom.deviantart.com/art/Face-Patterns-Tutorial-44290362
https://mirukawa.deviantart.com/art/eye-tutorial-308803972
https://wysoka.deviantart.com/art/How-To-Draw-Eyes-562331170

Tutorials on face and head proportions, eyes, expressions etc.. can be found on Deviantart, Pinterest, Tumblr or google image search. Practice them, look at photographs and use a mirror. This is how I learned. Hope this helps!

Hello everyone! I recently finished my 36x48 painting that I named "Esoteric Persona." It's a statement on how the creation process can become influenced by our surroundings (people, places, events) and that there's a point at which our work becomes so influenced by these factors that it begins to warp the intent. It raises questions such as who is really creating that piece (a sole artist or the reasons that influenced the artist to create the piece in the first place) and if the end product could still be made if there wasn't that initial outside spark. A self reflection for why we decide to make things in the first place: is it for ourselves as a way of understanding and expressing or to use the creation process as a means of distraction or therapy?

2 new pieces I did. The first is a modern set female version of Link from The Legend of Zelda. The second is an Octo-mermaid with perpetual stigmata hand gauges. The blood becomes fish she controls with her mind. She carries a large glass container filled with her growing embyos.
