How?
I have a complaint about the story mode:
I'm actually disappointed that you are forced to play the Peach/Daisy and Mario matches back to back after you lose. I beat Wario and Waluigi but got to Luigi and I lost. Then I tried starting it up and turns out the chapter has those two matches in there where you have to beat both in one sitting rather than beat one, take a break and then finish off in the next match. The matches are definitely fun, but its kind of a waste of time to force the player to beat both matches consecutively. Also any have any tips on Beating Luigi? Should I just load up meter and break his racket. How can I stop giving him zone shot opportunities while I'm trying to charge meter?
Nothing like getting to the final game in a tournament and before the game starts the connection is showing full bars and then drops to red... Ending up losing to someone with 20,000 plus points... So frustrating.
Every time I get to the final match I lose to a person with 20K+ points that's lagging like crazy, even though the connection is full bars when the match is loading in. Hard to think they're not doing it on purpose at this point.
Another run to the semi-finals and another loss to a guy with 25K + points that lags after showing a four-five bar connection prior to the game starting up. This is so frustrating.
Indeed. It's a shame it doesn't have as strong of focus as the gimmicky stuff. It's pretty tight. Simple mode doubles is so good.
I'm loving simple mode, but when I get up to the semi finals and have to wait 5 Minutes for a match... :(
It's absolutely baffling that there's no quick retry option in the Story Mode. Some of these challenges are hard, and having to sit through the entire post-match results screen, mash through Toad's losing speech, restart, skip the trash talk from your opponent and wait for the stage to load before you can retry is ridiculous. It's 2018. This is a solved problem: "Would you like to retry? Yes/No". Nintendo, you're better than this.
I'm ashamed to say, I didn't know that was an option. Lol I thought the online tournament mode was the only way to play online.
In the 1.1.0 patch notes it says:

But that's probably lies given people's experience.
- Online play: We have made some adjustments so that players of similar skill are more likely to be matched together. (Outside of matches with friends)

It says "more likely"probably lies, been playing since launch with 65% win rate
and got paired with someone with 50 points
I got a 83% win ratio and 30 tournaments. I wonder after the end of the month if there's actually rewards?

Not even a full week and the meta seems to be creeping steadily towards holding the right stick in any direction for the whole match? Lmao
Are there any tips for the Blooper fight? In a game already full of questionable decisions, that pole in the middle of the court is quite honestly the worst decision by far. There's no way to tell where the ball will go until its too late. There's no way to tell if the ball is going behind the pole or bouncing off it until its already too late and even when it does hit the pole, there's multiple trajectories where the ball goes.
If the game was a 7/10 at first, that dumbass court design brings it down to 5/10.
Not talking about the new characters though. I meant other rewards like rackets and stuff. Because getting on top of the ranks just for being there isn't tempting. Like I'm top 100 in US and 200 something worldwide.
Holy shit this is bollocks! Now I know why I'm seeing lots of Daisy...
Mashing up and down works even if the ball is on my sides?!That, unfortunately, doesn't seem to be daisy specific. Just go into a match and pretty much mash up and down trickshots, it's super lenient on how much it autocorrects to snap you to the shot (and....build meter doing it).
More as a response to their hit, but it's still honestly weirdly lenient in general. The backtrick can go really far to the left and right so it snaps to the ball pretty hard.
here's one where I was standing to hit a ball back but flicked back instead and despite the ball's position I built a bunch of meter.

Here's a video of a guy explaining it better. Literally can close his eyes and return the ball.

How's the local multiplayer? Not really interested in online or story mode. My wife and I are burning through overcooked atm and we're wondering if this is next game for us to spend our time with.
Yeah that fact that you can have somebody pinned into a corner, using all the correct shots, fully charged, ahead on meter, making them second guess where you're going to hit, then they get to trickshot and build a huge amount of meter and potentially special shot you is insane. Like a trickshot as a last ditch save is fine, but it should be draining meter and giving back a week shot if you have no meter (like it does) but not building it. Also it builds a hilariously big amount.Trick shots really should use up as much meter as a zone shot and never refill it. Returning it a little bit of force is reward enough for good timing. The auto-aim of the thing is a bit ridiculous too. It's really hard to punish to someone for being on the far edge of the court as it is without them using it.
Slow-mo at least quickly robs you of meter and denies you zone shots and supers.
