So far only the initial loading (after the Apple thing logo).

The rest looks the same!

But yeah, like many said (me included), the loadings are the only thing that affect this game negatively. The rest has been amazing so far!

Gonna buy me that Ultimate Demon something pack, today :D

Anyone able to play the event on Switch? Tried it couple of times... no games found after 2 minutes of matchmaking :(

Played it a few times this morning and never waited more than 15 seconds. I'm in EU though if that matters.

However, not sure I can recommend the event. It's not very exciting, the tower climb seems largely pointless, and unless you buy a bundle with crystals you can't spend the shards you get from doing it (I think?). Does being the winning team give more shards than if you lose? Hardly anything is explained.

It used to be that you'd get as many shards as your team's score (so up to 30 per match), but with the latest patch, I've been getting a lot more per game (like 50+).

If nothing else, you can snag a free gold and diamond chest from getting 100 and 200 shards, respectively.

Yes true, I'm playing it until I've completed those quests. It'll be the first chests I've gotten! I wasn't sure if there was any way to get chests without paying money so nice to see :)

That's good to know. How frequently do new heroes get added / heroes get reworked? Literally just started playing last week and didn't really know anything about the game prior to that.

Servers down for maintenance atm but looking forward to trying the new support!

Their post launch goal is 6 weeks between big updates that add new events/champions and 2 weeks between smaller updates that contain bug fixes and balance passes.

Yeah that's not because of the lack of people playing either. Even on PS4 / PC it can often take two minutes to find a game. I think it does make quite an effort to match you with similar ELO players, and ranked takes even longer.

Last time I tried a Ranked Match I waited for about 10 minutes and then gave up lol

It would be great if auto-purchasing just bought caut/wrecker depending on your opponents team composition.

I'm guessing 90% of players have auto purchasing on, because I can't see any other explanation as to why no one ever makes the right purchases.

If the opposing team is running 2+ supports or frontlines then caut/wrecker should be your FIRST purchase.

Generally speaking healing champions can do more healing, than any champion can deal damage. Therefore, irrespective of how skilful you and your team are with your champions, you won't outdamage their healing/shielding. There is very rarely an instance where you don't want to be purchasing wrecker or cauterise. The odds are, if you're picking anything else as your first item, you're screwing your team over.

The only exception to this is if you know your team already have those covered or if your character isn't suited to spreading caut / dealing damage via wrecker (e.g. someone like Maldamba isn't that effective at spreading damage or dealing damage to shields).

Yeah, the auto purchase system is really really bad. Sometimes it will buy Bulldozer when there's no one who can even make buildables on the enemy team. And Deft Hands is a pricey noob trap that only a few champs should ever use, Mal'Damba being a big one since he's got a powerful stun at the end of his reload.

A boost to your Ultimate at the start of the deathmatch. Also whichever team does more damage to the sigil thing at the top of the tower gets an additional 50% boost on top of whatever they collected on the way up. So you want to balance collecting those rings with making sure the majority of your team (or at least the high damaging characters) get to the top first. It really isn't that consequential though.

Protip: If you're not at the forefront and you're not about to collect one of the ring things, when you see "the abyss rises" just go ahead and jump off the edge. Hitting the abyss goop will catch you up faster than platforming properly.

Had a couple of Siege games as Furia and she is really fun. Seems VERY strong, although still not sure if that's just because I'm only playing with people who are low level. Love her Wings of Wrath, great little escape tool that can kill if you're having a close one-on-one.

She is very strong damage wise once you build that wrath up, and her stun is quite powerful if aimed well. However, she lacks in movement options and general self preservation. Healing the right target can be finicky as well.

Pretty well balanced for having just been introduced.

How long are those event skin bundles going to be going for? Pretty sure if I can get to my first week of daily login done I'll have enough.

Until the event ends. When that will be... I dunno. If I had to wager a guess, I'd say two updates (4 weeks) from now. That will be the next "big" update. They'll say beforehand that such-and-such update will bring the event to an end, of course.

Maybe it's just me but I see significant improvements to load time. Menus load faster, the store is faster, getting to the character select screen is faster, the time it takes for the character to load on the character screen is faster, and after the match scoreboard and awards load faster. Loading into a game is still long but it even seems to be slightly improved

I'm glad this game is getting love.
I've been playing for quite a while now, and dropped it due to some "cards unbound" nonsense.
But the game is back to its fun-rooted base.

I love the amount of champs, so many options for any kind of player.

I'm teaching a couple of Switch friends how to build, and to plan within the match, my "healing Pip" feels like a grizzled veteran.

Still no word on account linking or cross platform party support for Switch? Seems everywhere I bring it up is met with silence. Without account linking I'm not going to drop any money into the game.

It's especially annoying as there is a mount in the store that says "Go to this URL to link your account to Twitch" but it isn't actually possible.

I was so excited that the event let me earn two chests. I immediately played until I got them. Really hoping that all events do that in the future.

I like Frostfangs a lot. Even when I don't play Paladin's I watch his videos, he seems like the kind of person I'd like to have a drink with or whatever. Generally dislike most youtubers.

Holy shit, that dude speaks at about twice the speed of a regular human. It's almost like he does play by play on his entire match, which is cool! But man, that's a lot to take it, and I can see it getting a bit grating over time. He seems really informative though!

Does he always speak that quickly?

Got two Diamond chests at the end of two matches today. Not sure why, lol.
And i am not complaining, got Replicant Ying and Dark Lord Torvald, two great skins.

Wait. I got one Diamond and one Gold when event went live. And i haven't played the event for week or more now.

It did say: "Play 10 matches and 200 eliminations" tho. but i was only playing DM/Siege today. How can i see these quests?

If you go to the Quests option on the main menu you can go over a tab to the Special Quests section and see them there.

Ranked is really frustrating me in this game.

I've been progressing in rank, gradually, but at the same time I'm definitely losing more often than I am winning. Every loss I seem to do at least, quite a bit better than my team mates, but it's just really frustrating.

In my last game the tank initiated the opening fight by using his escape (Ashe's cc immune charge) to get to the centre of the map, and the middle of the enemies. He was burst down pretty quick and died. After that, he wouldn't leave spawn, just kept throwing himself off the edge over and over.

Super frustrating to see stuff like that. I sent him an impolite message, nothing toxic but I did tell him he was trash, and asked if he always gave up when things didn't go his way. Obviously he responded equally unpleasantly.
