Really great month, looking forward to whatever the announcement game will be. Weren't we supposed to get next up heroes this month? Or did I hear that wrong?

Wow I'm impressed. This is a pretty good list. Here I was subscribing to gamepass thinking I would get little value out of it until the 1st party started releasing. These games have the right amount of "interesting" to make me want to try them. A Lot of it is stuff I probably wouldn't buy without a sale. Good Month.

Gamepass has become such a cool service . They do a great job of checking a lot of different boxes to make everyone happy.

Fallout 3 is X Enhanced? Anyone got any details on that. I don't have an X just yet but I'm really excited to get one this year.

Shot is zoomed in but you can clearly see the res increase here! Increased by 4 times. So essentially native 4k (only not fully 4k because it's a literally 4x increase which doesn't quire reach the mark).

Is that Vermintide 2 beta or the actual console launch? I didn't see anything about a release date for console.

I'm current on the 14 day trial and do not own an Xbox, just a Windows 10 PC. It seems really pointless for me. Aside from Sea of Thieves and State of Decay, there's really no noteworthy play anywhere titles. Are any of these play anywhere?

I don't think there is any large effort to add Play Anywhere to existing titles, I think the goal is to add it to new titles going forward. There are a few decent Play Anywhere titles on Gamepass such as Halo Wars 2, State of Decay, Tomb Raider, and a few others. I would agree Gamepass as a PC only gamer is a bit of a tough sell right now. You might want to come back in 6-12 months for Forza Horizon 4, Halo Infinity, Ashen, and others.

That being said, you could also consider investing in a used Xbox One. I am primarily a PC gamer, and I activly avoided Xbox One since launch. I stumbled upon a great deal on a 2nd hand one ~ 90 days ago, and I bought it with the goal that I would never buy a game for it... the "rule" was that all of my Xbox games would be only from:

  • Play Anywhere games I had already bought on PC (I already owned Forza Horizon 3 and Gears 4 before buying the Xbox One).
  • Gamepass titles
  • Free Games with Gold titles
  • I also get the ocassional game from my local library, but YMMV depending on where you live.
This has been working out really well for me. I've been enjoying the Xbox purchase immensly.

I would like to see "Play Anywhere" added to more old GamePass games that are also on the Windows Store. For example Fallout 4, I'd love to be able to download the PC version as well. Now technically it is not "Play Anywhere", so there is no sync between my save games or anywhere else. But, I assume there is some reason that they don't do this so I doubt it will happen.

This actually kind of annoys me because Zombie Trilogy is virtually dead on PC and now it pops up here for a second life.

Also Vermintide 2 is worth the 10$ sub alone

God damn! Now I'm pretty damn excited. All the stuff I'm hearing from X Enhanced 360 games are always super positive.

Forza Horizon 3 for the Inside Xbox reveal?
As a new gamepass subscriber I'm truly baffled it's not there already, same with some other MS published titles like Ori or Forza Motorsport 7. Didn't Cuphead come out after the "every future ms published will be available on gamepass" position was made?

Don't get me wrong, loving the service so far. Getting to play Fallout 4 that I wanted but never played at release, or the 3-4 hours of Recore I have played so far and absolutely loved.

Cuphead is not published by MS. And it was released before that announcement. Way before.

I think the car licensing was done before, technically gamepass might classify as a different distribution model. With the amount of cars Forza has they may be more specific than games like Dirt. Could also be the soundtrack.

Crossing my fingers that the July 10th reveal is No Man's Sky on Game Pass at launch. It's around the right time for them to start talking more about NEXT, and it makes a lot of sense to add to the program. Plus it would save me from inevitably triple dipping to see how it plays on the One X.

Seems like a perfect fit. That would be awesome if it was.

Nice. I try not to subscribe right now since I have a massive backlog but if Microsoft is going to give me a month for $1 then I can't really resist it. I have my sub until July 15 and Shadow Complex, Abzu and Human Fall Flat should be doable. They may not make much money off that but they definitely drive my engagement to the console and it's making me a happy customer who will tell other consumers about it. Who knows, maybe it'll even make me buy an Xbox first next gen? It's a good time to be an Xbox owner.

It was actually 7 months, if you activated it and enabled auto renewal each one would redeem for 7 months, managed to get 21 months for the price of 9 months
See I asked about this in another thread but unfortunately I don't think the people who responded knew about this either.

Just to be clear normally you get 1 exrta month for turning it on, but only one time. During the sale every extension was giving you an extra month. Is that correct?

These day one titles don't do much for me but I'm hoping in the future we get at least one well-reviewed indie dropping day-and-date on Game Pass every month. That would be dope.

I think Ashen, Afterparty and Phoenix Point will all be ~well reviewed~. Just a hunch tho
