Yes but then again, last mass shooting at a newpaper/magazine office was Charlie Hebdo. It's an easy link to jump to conclusions but tbh the reasons don't matter, its the access to the tools. There is also somebody with a reason and you can't control thoughts.
This dude is going to need serious counseling. I can't even imagine.
Once I saw Annapolis trending on twitter I knew immediately. This country is fucked up.
Glad they caught the fucker. Terrible that this shit continues to happen and nothing ever changes.
I mean, their jump-to conclusion is evacuate the news buildings.
He saw some of his colleagues be gunned down.... Poor man. I hope he can get help after this.
Every news outlet will be doing this in the wake of this and Milo, with good reason.

A friend who works in the mall across the street from the location posted this:
"So... this is going on right next to my work. Like, RIGHT next door, but mall management doesn't want to "Worry Shoppers" so they aren't closing the mall or telling people why there are detectives and men in fatigues everywhere right now. You know, wouldn't want them to stop shopping because of a shooting in the same parking lot..."
I have worked at that mall and wish that it surprised me, but it doesn't.

This is both terrible, as they could easily have access to non public info on threats/ect, or simply not good as they're doing this out of an abundance of caution.
Now I think they know something.
We live in an era where the most visible political leader in this country cannot go and entire paragraph without accusing the "Fake News Media" of ruining our country. A political leader with die hard fans who won't defect from him regardless of circumstance, and will take anything he says as absolute truth. This political leader has openly made threats against journalists.
This was always bound to happen. I won't jump to saying this was a member of the MAGA crowd, but I'm willing to be it's at least a 50% chance. On top of that, crimes of passion (jilted lovers) generally kill those who have hurt them, not an entire room full of their co-workers. This was very much an attack on the Capital Gazette as an institution.
Thanks to trump and more recently Milo who openly said to kill journalists.

Man. I pass those buildings all the time. Had no clue to newspaper was in that building. Crazy seeing people led into the old Lord and Taylor building in the Annapolis Mall across the street (the store left the mall a few months ago).
Can we arrest this fucker also?

So awful to see another shooting, RIP to all those who have died. Reading the tweets of the guy who was in the office at the time of the shooting, I can not imagine how god damn scared he must have been.
Averaging more than one mass shooting a day. Unreal.

Honest question: is this where one should immediately try to tackle the attacker, or is that just some action movie stuff? I cannot fathom being trapped under a desk, with only a hope that the shooter would ignore me.
He has consistently described the media as a massive threat to the American people.
I don't understand how you can read this, have the ability to effect legislation that will prevent things like this from happening, and still not be moved enough to exercise that ability.
When the President calls the Press the enemy of the people constantly. This is what happens. Hell is Milo even in the US. If this is even remotely linked to that I'm sure the FBI will be talking to him.
Probably. But keep in mind that a lot of workplace shootings are disgruntled co-workers, employees that got fired etc. So that's always a possibility. But yeah, my inkling is it's politically related unfortunately as I'd worry a lot about copycats after the fact if that's what it ends up being motive wise.
