Build on the freedom of choice in missions. This started to be developed in GTA5 but was very limited, I'd love to see what has been done with MGS5/BotW brought into the series and developed more.

I'm laughing at the Grand Theft Auto VI(CE) idea because what do you do with the next one? Do you just go harder into Vice City?

Each game after VI would just get more aggressive with the setting. You have GTA VIICE, and then GTA VIIICE.

Saw something popup in a news feed about GTA6 - takes place in Miami with trips to South America (like Yankton in GTA5 maybe) Also, numerous protagonists including at least one female…Also speculated a release of no later than 2022.. May be what is in the video – but until I hear something from Rockstar/Take Two it's all wanton speculation…

I want vice city/80's but way more than just not-miami and the surrounding area.

If we are dreaming I want San Andreas scope and scale just in the 80s and somewhere else.

How about not designing enemy encounters around autoaim/lock-on. How about not having lock-on of any sort.

give us more fun ways to gain money. who actually thought the stock market was fun? It was just a slower version of gambling IMO. Just give us a fucking casino.

Make businesses mean something. quality over quantity! Let us improve them as well.

most importantly, don't neglect single player with future content like they did in 5 >:(

I'd like to see them keep the multiple protagonists theme. My ideal GTA VI would be set in the midwest and have a male and female protagonist with a bonnie and clyde / natural born killers sort of vibe to it.

Being able to shoot trough Building windows from the in and outside. It would give you more freedom in how you approach a mission.

I want it to be like San Andreas
  • 3 cities - Vegas, Vice City and take us back to an updated Liberty City.
  • customization of the main character
  • RPG lite mechanics
  • crazy mission designs
I also want it set in modern day.

- Set in Chicago
- Two protagonists, one female, one male (or two female would be totally fine, but that won't happen)

That's all I want. Rockstar knows what they're doing with the rest.

One Female Protag: With a criminal background maybe? Valley girl, a 40-year-old mom, or Japanese biker gang member?

Maybe not Vice City but Los Vegas? Eh?

Make it like GTA 4 where the city is more interactive.

Being able to drive a Train.

Let us buy property like in GTA SA and Online.

go international: one American city and one European city, both in the same game

I still cannot believe how trash the shooting mechanics were in V when the same company also made Max Payne 3.
I eagerly await all the people overlooking the probable awful shooting mechanics in RDR2, because Rockstar.

I actually do not await that at all.

For me it has to be a return to vice city but with a twist.

You play a story spanning two timelines. One is back to the 80s and one is current day. Your actions back in the 80s dictate who is around in the current day and what the city looks like.

Your choices change the protagonists you face off against in the current day and some key mission objectives.

This will satisfy both fans that hark back to the original vice and those that want something fresh.

Freeroam will be available in both timelines of course.

Just thinking what the neon drenched 80s vc would look like on the current or next gen consoles. Will be a sight for sure.

Actually give a shit about single player. Or make multiplayer good. Either would work for me, really. GTAV is in this weird situation where single player really needed some post launch content to shine and multiplayer was never going to be worth my time. And Rockstar went ham on multiplayer, of course.

Some decent end game content for single player would also be nice. There's like... nothing to do in V. Some odd jobs here and there that pay like 10 grand and all you can really spend it on is properties that cost millions. Fuck. That. The stock market was a cool mechanic but it completely broke the economy of V.

Was that bigass map of a Grand Theft Auto state combining all the cities posted? I'd play that. I know many people might not like the idea of big empty spaces with minimal things to do, but I really would love to get absolutely lost in the middle of the desert or forest without any roads nearby for guidance. It could make for amazing missions and game modes. I really want to capture the feeling of wilderness in Red Dead Redemption in GTA.

Fast travel would be viable with airports, bus lines, and trains.

I'm doubting the GTA VI rumour is entirely true because Rockstar don't do female leads, they just don't. But hey, this'll be the 1st time they do if it's true since the original GTA. Having said that, having a female lead could lead to some unexplored territory that I'd like to see done properly:
  • Prostitution backstory. Me and my best friend use to discuss how a female lead would work in a GTA game in the sense that she wouldn't be just another thug protagonist. We concluded that a woman wanting to get out of a life of prostitution and drugs was a good setup and motivation for both the character and player to want to push the protagonist away from that kind of lifestyle. She would eventually get revenge on those who abused her so the criminal element is still there just like other GTA games.
  • Female cop. A series first too, playing as a female cop busting criminals would make for a good twist on expectations. You'd play as an undercover "bad cop" who likes to take the law into their own hands to deal with scum, the plot twist being the chief you're working for is also the leader of the crime syndicate he's telling you to take down because he wants to hide evidence and witnesses of his own criminal past.
Anyway those are the two best ideas we came up with all those years ago.

Make the game world interesting ffs gta v is such a borefest as Sp compared to gta SA a generation older game

I want things to do and my actions to effect the world more like botw in real time

Some destructible environment would be cool

But most importantly the single player just needs to be far far more robust and interesting

Yea I know most of the money is on gta online but fuck if gta v does not bore me to tears after the graphics wow factor wears off

The tech is great the assets and environments great but the content and interactivity .... Ugh it is so unambitious compared to gta SA

And yes fuck the God damn shitty aiming mechanics yes they did make max Payne 3 so there is noooooo excuse for that bullshit

More mini games, Yakuza style.

Part time jobs, like the old pizza delivery, taxi driving, firefighting, and police jobs plus new and more complex jobs like managing a type of business from legit to illegal.

Better movement and more fun shooting mechanics. Implementing a variation of the Max Payne 3 system would improve both drastically but R* seems to be opposed to the idea. GTA4/5 (and by extension, Red Dead) feels so stiff sometimes, especially compared to something like Uncharted

If GTA Online is their focus they should go all in and make condensed America on a massive map. All the previous cities brought up to current standards included.

I agree with OP completely.

Also my ideal setting is DC/Baltimore, having a politically charged theme where you fight corruption and dirty government on Capitol Hill. Basically tumbling a House of Cards in GTA form, taking down a Frank Underwood figure and a well protected criminal Congress, Supreme Court, and eventually White House.

It could be extremely controversial to have assassination missions such as these but as long as you avoid too many parallels with real-life, existing figures it should be fine. It's time to have a AAA game willing to take on these themes.

This sounds more like Watch Dogs 3, In GTA you play criminals trying to make money. If anything you would be the Frank Underwood character in GTA DC.

Agreeing with the OP about a female protagonist. It's about damn time.

My most wanted feature, however, is a return to Vice City. I want nothing more than for GTA6 to go back to the 1980s neon colored atmosphere of Vice City with today's graphical capabilities.

WD3 is absolutely more likely to have similar themes, but giving a criminal a perhaps (to start with) selfish motivation for targeting/heisting maybe politicians that turns into exposing and toppling an entire democracy has potential for a well crafted GTA story.

Wouldn't mind a Frank Underwood like protagonist either though, as long as you start off an underdog.

Go completely wild with the setting: how about a game set in Delhi or Beijing? There is so much potential in terms of story and atmosphere.
