As great as DK sounds it's a tough sell paying a full price for a 4 years old game.Kinda sad that Donkey Kong gets trounced by something as wonky and slipshod as Crash Bandicoot, but hopefully DK will have the longer legs.

BetaM just released a video of nsane trilogy test levels, I need open world classic crash game NOW!
It didn't sell almost 3m in few months in Just UK. Not even 1/4 of those. Crash is huge in Europe and probably only bad in japan whether you like it or not. It's probably around 4m on PS4 alone.
Are these all old gamers bying these games or also new gamers?

IMO, I've always loved the way the secret routes and gems are set up; a huge part of my love probably stems from watching my parents play it as a child, but when I went to play them myself as an adult, I loved Crash 2 and 3 as they were. This would've been around when the 360 was launched?I play retro platformers regularly and, honestly, I think they're just OK. Lots of folks adore the series but I never felt the mechanics were quite good enough. Super Magnetic Neo is better. ;-)
All true. Dont mean people not gonna buy it.But Crash isn't popular. It's just Sony fans buying it out of nostalgia. Crash will never sell on other platforms. Crash was never good.
LMAO
You underestimate people's fondness for Crash. It's like peak millennial video-game nostalgia stuff, regardless of quality or how it holds up.
There was this one guy who angrily referred to Crash as "Crash Bandicunt".
Still feel like chuckling every time I remember.
Crash just keeps winning and I love very second of it. Talent always wins ;)But Crash isn't popular. It's just Sony fans buying it out of nostalgia. Crash will never sell on other platforms. Crash was never good.
Was that on here or on GAF?
I remember it, but I don't remember where I saw it.
Can we just be honest?
It's THREE games in one.
Those three games are generally well received on their own right and have a decent legacy.
It looks great on the Switch's screen.
It's 2/3 of the normal price point than Nintendo first party.
File size would be an issue, as well as no ready solution for easy 360 emulation. If Rare Replay was brought to Switch it might be advantageous if it's 6 Xbox/360 games were dropped in favor of 6 Nintendo owned titles (DKC1-3, DKR, DK64, SFA).Microsoft, you're leaving money on the table with Rare Replay.
I think ERA didn't exist at the time. Was that on here or on GAF?

Crash is big on Europe, period. It would have sold well regardless, because it's a game people want. Crash topped the charts on PS4 and Xbox as well, and it wasn't because there was nothing else to play. That's not what Im saying. Im saying there hasn't been a Zelda, a Smash or a Mario plattformer or any giant Nintendo IP so far this year so Crash selling well is not suprising to me.
Crash Bandicunt outsells Donkey Kock Cuntry. There was this one guy who angrily referred to Crash as "Crash Bandicunt".

Actually, I just sampled Crash on PC at 60fps and....it's a LOT better. Like, night and day. The Switch version feels like it has a ton of lag in comparison. Need to do some comparisons.BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!
And lol IGN gave Super Magnetic Neo a 6.9.
Crash Bandicoot is better. Crash 3 is at a 91 meta score.
No one would even care about the latter game if it was called Donkey Dong and made by Ubisoft...
First thing that crossed my mind. This is really just an indication of how not great 2018 on the Switch has been so far.Oh, this year. That explains it. That's really important information OP, it should be in the title.
Switch year has been really bad so not really surprised.
Crash is equivalent to mumble rap
SteamSpy isn't working currently. It says that for most games. The problem, as I see it, is that the game has an all-time peak player number of 3,755, which is really not good for such a mainstream and popular title. It is possible the game will demonstrate decent legs once the Steam sale ends, however.
Oof I remember this lol. It was in the old forumThere was this one guy who angrily referred to Crash as "Crash Bandicunt".

Either way, the PC version feels great to play and elevates the game.
When crash is considered as the high point of the Switch so far this year, it 's really fucking sad.

60fps on platformers is huge. I have been playing the Switch version for a couple days. When I started it felt like shit. Very heavy. I got use to it though. Wish they had aimed for 60fps across all platforms.
Since they didn't even manage to get 60 FPS on PS4P and XBX, the Switch would never make it without massive downgrades.

Refined taste over here. That's also why Sega did so well over here in the 8 bit and 16 bit eras.UK really loves Crash eh? I know it does very well elsewhere but it's like super beloved in the UK. Why?
If DK was available at full price that would be one thing, they tried to charge even more for the switch version than it's original release on wii u which is a huge shame as tropical freeze should be played by as many people as possible. As great as DK sounds it's a tough sell paying a full price for a 4 years old game.

That's the country that is known for loving Giana Sisters. Do the math.
