Nope. First Beth, and then later he died to help a character who got killed off quite horribly in the very next season.
It was in the same season. Noah died five episodes after Tyreese.

It's weird because, on top of the fact that everyone hated Carl since forever, people are always complaining about plot armor. So then they kill off the character with the most plot armor of all - in a meaningful way that will impact the future of the show for years to come - and like suddenly everyone is upset? I'm convinced that people only want the opposite of whatever the show gives them.
Based on the final shot of last night's episode I'm betting
They actually kill Rick at the end of this season, they wrap this show up with 1 or 2 more seasons, and transition over to "Fear" being their main show

Don't worry, we're going back to Trashland in the next episode.Frankly I'm sick and tired of the same location . In the middle of Forrest area . How near a desert or next to the ocean or some form or downtown area
Don't eorry, e're going back to Trashland in the next episode.
As for Rick's last scene... It seemed his whole right arm was drenched in blood, but not much elese (with that much blood, you'd imagine his whole shirt would be soaked if it was his). I mean that was a lot of blood covering his arm...
Almost like he had reached in someone's guts Morgan style.
Someone on Twitter pointed out that his right leg seems to be broken and it certainly looks to be.
I'm looking at a screenshot of it now, and it looks to me like he's pale from blood loss and shot in the side. I'm not seeing a broken leg though.

I'd say thisLower half of the right leg looks awkwardly bent. Under the knee. Speculation with comic spoilers below:
Negan snaps his right leg in the comics. This is likely the aftermath of their final brawl, in which he spares Negan's life after cutting his throat.
I'd say thisis their take on Rick getting shot with Dwight's crossbowbelived to be dipped in Walker blood, so he thinks he's dying.
i want the Rickinator back!Killing off the symbol for hope and dreams.... just a shame.
Good luck, Rick.
His character has taken a turn that it can't come back from.
Wow, I had completely forgotten that all of that had happened in the same season (I had thought I remembered it being one season after Beth and the same as Tyreese, when the duration was that mid-season break after her I did recall instead). Even more of a waste, then.It was in the same season. Noah died five episodes after Tyreese.
i wish they would kill more off the show has been character bloated for 3-4 seasons..Why do they keep killing every character off? Is it to save on budget?
100% agree the pacing and especially the long winded shitty dialogue has been a plague on the series since probably season six...they include about 20 mintues of story in a hour long episode. Every scene is over done in length and the dialogue is writen so badly.. i miss seasons 1-5 3 was alittle shitty because of the governer... It was an ok ep but the long as winded death scene which was the whole ep was annoying i mean i understand it but damn is every single character that's been on the show for a long time going to get an hour long death scene, but i never even liked caaaarrrrooul lol he wasnt a good actor at all.. and im glad hes not around anymore.Everything involving Carl was fantastic. Andrew, Danai and Chandler all put in top tier performances.
But if any episode was going to leave out cast members, this was the one to do it. Going back and forth between the Carl story and Morgan story was terrible. What made it worse was the fact that the Morgan plot had unintentionally funny moments. The little kid stabbing Gavin through the neck was terrible and dumb. The stealth involved, the perfect stab through the neck despite being much shorter, the way it was shot. Awful.
And then it's back to fantastic acting and an emotional goodbye.
Even when the show has the absolute perfect set up for a home run, they somehow manage to botch it somehow. It needed to be a regular length episode and it should have focused on the events at Alexandria alone.
But aside from that, I think this was a bad decision. I am running out of characters that I care about. And soon, we'll be losing Morgan. Potentially Maggie. And I'll no longer get to see one of my most wanted arcs from the comics now that Carl is gone.
This was a good episode. But it could have been amazing, maybe a top 5 episode in the series. The pacing was poor, the back and forth was awkward, the flash forward reveal was a complete cop out.
And I do not feel good about the future.
good for him lol andrew be gettin that money.. :p id definitely not want to watch the show anymore if he diedDon't worry, we're going back to Trashland in the next episode.

Edit: Andrew Lincoln has already been signed for a 9th season according to THR, but of course Gimple plays coy, just saying "you shouldn't play the "Rick's dying" angle too hard". No answers until towards the end of the season of course.

yeah I mentioned it in my first post yesterday after watching the show it looks like he was shot not bitten they didn't even talk about it on the talking dead at all. i'm pretty sure that particular scene were the close-up of his eyes was in the first half of the season too so this isnt the first time it was foreshadowed...Rick might be dying soon as well...
Last shot showed him bleeding beside a tree. I really dont get why they would wanna tease him dying just seconds after killing his son.
He either got bit or shot through the stomach.
So uh... did anyone notice Carl's eyepatch was on the wrong eye like immediately after a seen we saw it on the correct eye?
That's about the most interesting thing I can say about this episode. When this arc is done, I'm dropping this.
It took a few years but the kid finally learned how to act enough to pull off his death scene. He did more acting in this episode than he ever did on the show.
I noticed that too lol.I like how the future = "everyone looks the same except Rick has a white beard"
75% of this show is people going from ruthless killers to pacifists and back again while people argue with them about whether they should or shouldn't kill.It makes no sense for people to make Morgan feel guilty for killing in the middle of a war, especially since these are people who are killers themselves. Why is this storyline a thing?
The song in the beggining of the episode during the Carl montage made me mute my TV. Unbelievably awful.
You can't seriously think that was good? It sounded like Carl himself was singing it! Dreadful.
Negan's story will never be wrapped up. They will keep going back to that well of making him look strong until he finally wins the big one at Wrestlemania and we respect him.It took a few years but the kid finally learned how to act enough to pull off his death scene.
It was a good episode. Everybody knew they'd make a big deal out of it so the final result was pretty good.
Now it's probably back to Negan being a douche for the rest of the season. *groan* They need to wrap up this story asap. The show has already lost a ton of viewers so as soon and they end this crap season the sooner they can start trying to salvage the show.

I certainly didn't hate Carl. The majority of people on the show have been written like idiots for the past three seasons. Carl isn't alone in that.
Killing a character just to say, "See? We can kill important characters!" is bad writing. And while it might impact the story in a meaningful way, I think it hurts the show. The newer characters are not as good as the older characters. We already lost two characters that brought a lot of humor and heart to the show thanks to Negan. We're losing Morgan. We just lost Carl.
There aren't many characters left that I care about outside of Rick and Daryl.
(And that's ignoring the fact that we might lose Maggie soon. And if we're honest with ourselves, Danai is likely not too long for this show either given recent history-making events.)
