We won't know anything about new pilots until later. So did CW actually pick up the Supernatural spinoff or would that come later?

They're talking about Wayward Sisters. It had a backdoor pilot as a Supernatural episode earlier this year. Was that the one two seasons ago about the vampires or whatever? I thought I heard that ratings were real bad on and it got scraped.
The new season of izombie has been pretty trash, so I don't know if I even want it renewed
I like Steve Zahn, so I'm gonna check it out. Sounds promising.I watched it like a year ago - it was fine for the type of thing they were going for (it seemed to be a Lost/Flashforward/V/The Event type of thing).
Thanks

Yeah that one, love Sheriff Mills and Donna. They're talking about Wayward Sisters. It had a backdoor pilot as a Supernatural episode earlier this year.
"Just turned on my wifi on our flight to Chicago and found out that #CrazyExGirlfriend has been renewed for a final season," Bloom tweeted.
Bloom said previously that Season 4 will be about her character, Rebecca, and the others, finding out what truly makes them happy.
Trash is a little harsh perhaps, but the show is creatively the weakest it has ever been. I'd be fine with this being the end and I would've gone into rage-mode if they canceled it after any of the earlier seasons.Trash? I actually kind of like the shift in tone. They couldn't just do goofy-goofy Liv cop show shenanigans forever.

Christie Watson's The Language of Kindness, a story of acts of compassion in the nursing profession, is to be turned into a television series after Mammoth Screen, the British production company behind dramas including Poldark and Victoria, optioned the rights. I understand the ITV-owned firm has set Rachel Bennette, who adapted Zadie Smith's NW for BBC Two, to write.
The book, which comes out May 3 in the UK via publisher Chatto & Windus, is an account of the medical profession defined by acts of care, compassion and kindness from birth to death and from A&E to the mortuary. Watson, who was a nurse for twenty years, tells stories including the nursing of a premature baby who has miraculously made it through the night, a patient's agonising heart-lung transplant, and the hair-washing of a child fatally injured in a fire, attempting to remove the toxic smell of smoke before the grieving family arrive.
The novel sparked a bidding war between 14 publishers in 2016, all keen to sign up Watson, who has worked at Great Ormond Street Hospital, Guy's and St Thomas' and St Mary's Hospitals and published novels including Tiny Sunbirds Far Away and Where Women Are Kings. It was described by its publisher as a "no-holds-barred look at a profession under enormous strain and one that can teach us what it is to be human".
And to think, it was just as if it was yesterday the creators/stars pretended to never have heard of Castle. Then again, I somehow managed to get a perfect 10/10 score on this quiz of generically premised shows so I'm sure I will manage to spot some sort of difference when I undoubtedly end up watching this (I just like Alan Cumming, ok?)In the latest episode of the CBS procedural Instinct, an Amish teenager is murdered after moving to the big city. While investigating the teen's death, they find popsicle sticks that remind them of piano keys which leads them to question the victim's piano teacher. Sounds like gripping storyline right? Well, to some fans of Fox's Bones, the storyline was too familiar and Instinct producer Michael Rauch wanted to set the record straight.
After the Instinct episode titled "Secrets and Lies" aired, Bones fans started calling out the CBS procedural starring Alan Cumming. In a 2009 episode of Bones titled "The Plain in the Prodigy," they were investigating a murder of a young Amish man who moved to the big city. They find a collection of rocks that look like piano keys in his childhood home and interview the victim's piano teacher.
The striking similarities had many reaching out to Rauch via Twitter to which he posted, "Yeah, heard about this. Very distressing and 100% unintentional. Looking into it and how to make sure it doesn't happen again. And of course apologies to Bones (and their fans)."
I'm super glad Riverdale and Legends of Tomorrow are coming back for another season, I did expect that though. Hopefully the Hope Mikaelson (TVD/Originals spin-off) can join their schedule in 2019.
Excellent post, thanks! I sadly dropped off in the middle of season 6 myself(With the Alpha monsters I believe?) and haven't been back, but that Scooby Doo crossover made me remember how great the brothers chemistry is and damn is Jensen Ackles funny! Is there some sort of recap I can watch/read for S6-10? I'd love to start with 11 and catch up
To be honest, after this recent god awful season of CEG, I wouldn't have minded seeing it get cancelled. Hopefully the final season isn't a dumpster fire.I've never gotten into Supernatural but I almost think it's too much at this point. Now 14 seasons and 300 eps....I'm just overwhelmed now to ever make that leap and I marathoned every Star Trek series one time...
Glad there's one last season for Crazy Ex Girlfriend. Hopefully they can wrap it up because apparently this past season was kind of garbage and they need to figure out how to go out on a high note.

Yeah, it's gonna focus on Hope Mikaelson in the Salvatore's school in Mystic Falls. There's an Originals spinoff in the works? Why?
Anyway I wonder if Jane's gonna have her final season next season too.

Because we ain't ready to leave The Vampire Diaries Cinematic Universe yet.
Have you seen the fan sites and twitterscape? People want more Vampire Diaries than ever.I'm gonna say the audience have said that yes, they are ready to leave it all behind. But we'll see, I guess.

Kenneth Branagh To Star & Produce eOne's TV Adaptation Of 'A Gentleman In Moscow'FremantleMedia North America is doubling down on the fantastical after securing the rights to sprawling novel series Gormenghast with Neil Gaiman and Akiva Goldsman (A Beautiful Mind) lined up to adapt for television.
...
The books follow the inhabitants of Castle Gormenghast, a sprawling, decaying, gothic-like structure with a raft of characters including Titus, the heir to the throne of the House of Groan, scheming kitchen boy Steerpike and twin sisters Cora and Clarice.
Fresh from playing Hercule Poirot in Murder On The Orient Express, Kenneth Branagh is to re-team with Mark Gordon in Entertainment One's television adaptation of A Gentleman in Moscow.
...
Branagh will play the novel's protagonist Count Alexander Rostov, starting in Russia's turbulent early 1920s and spanning 30 years. When the Count is deemed an unrepentant aristocrat by a Bolshevik tribunal, he is sentenced to house arrest in the Metropol, a grand hotel across the street from the Kremlin. Having never worked a day in his life, he must now live in one room as history is being made outside.
If it didn't translate to people watching television, we wouldn't have had both shows run until the moment all the leads want out. Both The Originals and The Vampire Diaries ended on the leads wanting out, not The CW wanting to cancel them. They are easy shows to sell worldwide: goodlooking vampires sell.
Laurie will play Major de Coverley, squadron executive officer on Pianosa air base. A noble, leonine presence, like some Civil War general, de Coverley dances to the beat of his own drum. Regarded with awe by the men. He spends his time pitching horseshoes, listening to jazz on his phonograph, mixing himself martinis, and hiring apartments for the officers in every new city the Americans take.
Clooney plays Colonel Cathcart and will direct the series alongside Heslov and Ellen Kuras.
I swear the only way Supernatural ends if by some unfortunate reason either of the leads dies.
Bravo has set a top-notch leading duo for its true-crime scripted anthology series, Dirty John. In his American TV debut, Eric Bana (Munich) has signed on to star opposite Connie Britton in the first season of the anthology series, from Universal Cable Productions, Los Angeles Times Studios and Atlas Entertainment.
Written by Chance co-creator Alexandra Cunningham, Dirty John is based on the articles and breakout true crime podcast from Los Angeles Times reporter Christopher Goffard. It centers on John Meehan (Bana), a handsome and romantic charmer who sweeps Debra Newell (Britton) off her feet and pulls her into his web of lies. The series chronicles the true story of how a romance with Meehan spiraled into secrets, denial and manipulation.
Supernatural will never be as good as the first 5 seasons, but I still enjoy the show. The chemistry between the brothers is top-notch and Cas is good comic relief. I am surprised Palecki and Ackles are still willing to keep going, but as long as they are, I will continue to watch. I assume their contracts are negotiated annually?
The first five seasons are still fantastic imo. While they have iffy episodes, seasons 1-5 are mostly consistent quality wise. Season 7 sure as hell doesn't hold up though.
Not sure about the contract negotiations.
To my awareness, Bloom often said she had four years planned, but of course, plans can change.I thought it was known that season 4 of CEG was always gonna be its last. At least, I remember reading about it somewhere last year.
I mean what else are they going to do? They tried movies and that didn't work out for them, why screw up a good thing?I am surprised Palecki and Ackles are still willing to keep going, but as long as they are, I will continue to watch.

Interesting. Just yesterday someone was talking to me about this novel.
HBO has given a pilot order to comedy Mrs. Fletcher, based on The Leftovers author Tom Perrotta's bestselling novel of the same name, with Kathryn Hahn attached to star, and Nicole Holofcener set to direct and executive produce. Perrotta, who co-created with Damon Lindelof the HBO series The Leftovers inspired by his book, wrote the Mrs. Fletcher adaptation and executive produces.
Mrs. Fletcher, which had been in the works at HBO for a while, is about an empty-nest mom (played by Hahn) and her college-student son who embrace their newfound freedom with mixed results.
Hahn's Eve Fletcher is a divorced woman who drops her only child off at college and returns home to a very empty nest. Hoping to jump-start her love life, she adopts a sexy new persona and discovers that her world is full of unexpected—and sometimes complicated—erotic possibilities.
The comedy is a dual coming-of-age story, exploring the impact of internet porn and social media on our most intimate relationships.
