Very interesting. My 27" OLED died in December and I got a full refund. If these are confirmed to be glossy I'm gonna be glad the other one died lol

1200 dollars, available in Feb.
Guess price competition will stay fierce?
We don't have official prices for anything but this yet unless something leaked? I wouldn't be surprised if Asus and Samsung tried to go higher though.I think Asus version is 1500 so they are charging a premium for some reason. I wonder how different the Alienware variant is considering it has a slight curve.
Asus version is WOLED and I bet they'll have it running at higher than spec brightness again. Plus it's Asus, they always charge a premium even when there's no real reason to.I think Asus version is 1500 so they are charging a premium for some reason. Really? I am pretty sure Asus said theirs is coming Q1 of this year. But the WOLED monitors of the same resolution won't be available until later this year. Around the summer but I could be wrong. I think the timeline was from the TFT guy.Asus version is WOLED and I bet they'll have it running at higher than spec brightness again. Yeah so I was right. But the confusing part is that Asus mentioned a switchable mode to 480hz. But I don't the QD-OLED panel is capable of it.

All of these are sounding really good. I'm just not sure how much of a "loss" it will be going back from 34" UW to 32" . I dont know how to compare that.
Thanks, that really doesn't seem as big of a drop as I thought it would be. And then I gain more "surface" by being on a 4k resolution as opposed to my current 1440p too? I think? Or is that not how it works. I think in many ways it would be an improvement over what I am using currently.Visual TV Size Comparison : 34 inch 2:35x1 display vs 32 inch 16x9 display

Yes since they specifically highlight the dual refresh feature which is a feature of LGD panel only for now.Really? I am pretty sure Asus said theirs is coming Q1 of this year. This seems like a show mishap honestly.
In terms of raw pixels, here are the two resolutions laid out on top of each otherThanks, that really doesn't seem as big of a drop as I thought it would be. Alright, good enough for me. Pretty excited then. Thanks! In terms of raw pixels, here are the two resolutions laid out on top of each other
Realistically though, running 4k on a desktop monitor, you'd probably be bumping up the scaling in Windows to make everything more legible.
Apparently the prices for the new alienware QD-OLED Monitors
AW3225QF - 4K240 QD-OLED - January 11- $1,199
AW2725DF 1440p 360Hz QD-OLED - January 11 - $899
The AW3423DW launched at $1299 so these prices are pretty competetiv.

Are the any of these that excel at HDR at the moment?Hope we'll see in-depth reviews of the QD-OLED 32 inch panels soon. I assume they'll still have the steep brightness drop off going from 2% to 10% fields, making them not very interesting to me in the HDR department.
You wouldn't need an AMD GPU to get VRR or these. They work fine on nvidia gpus.I can't see anything about G-Sync looking at the Samsung monitors. Is that not a thing anymore or would I need an AMD GPU to get VRR on those monitors?
The 1440p one isn't curved. Only the 4k one from Alienware is.Yeah, need that 1440p QD-OLED in my life, especially at under $1000. 360hz whew.
Will probably go for the Alienware for some curve. Love my G7 with it.
The 27 inch WOLED monitor from Asus had pretty good brightness levels for HDR already and the 2024 models are supposedly even brighter, so I have my hopes on those monitors. We'll have to wait for reviews.
Have there been any new monitors announced that have the weird Apple resolutions (5120 x 2880)?
Is there a way to keep track of monitor releases? I'm after a flat 4k/120hz+ either micro led or oled but I can't see any sites which list 2024 releases.
The curve on the Samsung g7 was too much for me so the alienware's aren't an option.
Where are you seeing this? Edit: thought this was about the asus ones nvmApparently the prices for the new alienware QD-OLED Monitors

Thanks, that's what I was looking for
I suppose it's useful if you're limited to 120hz. I would imagine motion at 360 or 480hz should be superior granted you can run at these framerates. 120hz BFI vs 240hz - who wins?Oh damn all the new Asus ones have BFI.
BFI (Black Frame Insertion) to Feature on the New Asus ROG OLED Gaming Monitors - TFTCentral
Asus are adding BFI to their third gen OLED gaming monitors in 2024 via their ELMB function. Details and operation providedtftcentral.co.uk
These are native refresh rates, not motion smoothing/interpolation - if that's what you mean?
120Hz BFI gets you the clarity of 240Hz while being less demanding to run.I suppose it's useful if you're limited to 120hz. I would imagine motion at 360 or 480hz should be superior granted you can run at these framerates. 120hz BFI vs 240hz - who wins?
I stuck with it, and while it was very harsh to begin with, I don't have much of a problem with it now on my C1.I've tried BFI on my LG CX. And I find it gives me a headache and the flashing is noticeable
I wish I could experience the benefit
