I am shocked that I got through 50 books this year, let alone ahead of schedule. The book side of the challenge pretty much kept me sane this year by giving me a reason to read anything else besides Twitter. I'm glad I found the Libby app back in February or so. Even though the hold times for some new releases with a lot of buzz can be literally months (the Bob Woodward book was one of the few I bought this year), and even though there's a lamentable dearth of academic press books, over 40 of the books I read this year were ebooks or audiobooks borrowed from my public library. And I've tagged over 100 other books that I haven't read yet, so I'll have plenty of material for the rest of this year, next year and probably the year after that. Eventually, I'll work on my backlog of purchased Kindle books. But new toys are always the most fun toys...

Oh boy, what a month. My partner loves the Twilight movies and has been trying to watch them with me for some time. This month, she did it. In exchange, i got her to watch the Back to the Future trilogy with me. And i threw San Junipero in there as well. She liked the second movie the most though she's not really a sci-fi fan.

A few notes:

- Tomb Raider is boring beyond belief. At one point, i looked at the running time and noticed there were 20 minutes left and realized nothing interesting had happened.

- The first Twilight movie was actually funny, though mostly unintentionally. I did have some good laughs. But after that, good lord. Avoid like the plague.

- AlphaGo is absolutely fantastic. Recommended.

- I actually watched Blade Runner back in January but had forgot to add it to the list, so there.

- No books again this month. Too much gaming.

For sure! I wish I had stated sooner in the month (I watched all of those in the last week and a half). Also I must say that I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the Children of the Corn sequels. Three, 4, and 5 were actually pretty good/entertaining. Six not so much, but I was expecting them all to be pretty trashy.

Last month I made some progress. This month I continued reading Les MIserables and started playing Persona 5. Two giant timesinks--one great and one a guilty pleasure.

Despite a slump in the middle of the year I was able to catch-up.

It's the home stretch now! 7 books and 8 movies in December, I'm midway through three books so it's manageable.
