Hey EvilBoris, do you mind if I threadmark your post?

Edit: I would honestly love for you to make a separate thread about DisplayHDR and how LCDs are graded differently than OLEDs! It seems a lot of people are misconstruing this information due to lack of understanding.
Of course you can.
It's confusing because we all knew that the DisplayHDR 400 spec was poor for a LCD, but DisplayHDR 400 TRUBLACK!!! Is actually good for an oled monitor

This monitor is going to be an extremely good option for both productivity and gaming.

I would wait to see how these displays handle things like ABSL and logo dimming before assuming they will be good for productivity. I tried using an LG OLED TV as a work monitor and the ABSL made it basically unusable.

The RGB pixel structure should at least improve text clarity, though, which was another issue with WOLED for productivity.

I'll be honest having used a 3340x1440 in the past, I really prefer my LG 38" GL950 ultrawide that is 3840x1600.. As it is HDR400 it kinda sucks at that, but hey its got everything else I want.

I won't go down to a 3440x1440 now, the extra 160 vertical makes a difference and being 3840 wide is nicer...

I use it for productivity as well as gaming but it's a really nice resolution.... 24:10 FTW

And this looks like a Alienware product (ie very "Gamer"), don't know why 3840x1600 isn't more widely adopted over 3440x1440 in general tho.

Price Revealed: $1300 USD
Bump because they are selling this for $1300 US Dollars:

Alienware 34 QD-OLED gaming monitor ships in early spring for $1,300

And the company's new skinny 14-inch gaming laptop, the x14, is available now starting at $1,650 -- cheaper than we anticipated.

I really want 32:9 Monitor but this looks way too good to pass up. fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu I wish this was 5120x1440 instead ;/.

Damn, that is far cheaper than I expected. Maybe the TVs won't force you to mortgage your house after all. Maybe just sell a kidney or something.

Hmmmm.... I thought for sure Samsung's QD-OLED TVs would be expensive...like Sony expensive, if not more. But are they some how gonna be able to compete with LG price wise?? O_o

Edit- and will LG drop their OLED TV prices even lower?

They must have decreased it given the 42 LG is likely coming less than or equal to that even.

At this price, I'm totally in though. Hoping it turns out to be as incredible as the spec sheets.

Please give us a 38" 3840 x 1600 model. I'd buy it in a heartbeat, even if it was like $500 more. I'll just sell some shit.

Wow, that price is surprisingly low. Like half the price I expected.
Makes me hopeful for an even lower priced 27" model in the near future. Needs to be non glossy though.

Random question. Can you still use DLDSR with ultrawide resolutions?

Anyway, I'm definitely hoping I'll be able to successfully order one of these! 1440p ultrawide is the ultimate sweet spot for me at 34". The pixel density is really good, while it's cheaper to drive, so my RTX3080 will have much better longevity. There's also the massive plus for amazing color volume, deep blacks, Gsync Ultimate, and near instant response times.

Yes, of course.

I am using the older Alienware AW3418DW UW 1440p Gysnc 120Hz.

That's downright cheap considering the quality increase over normal LCD monitors and how expensive they are.

I'd love it but I would lose my mind worrying about burn-in from my Windows desktop. I'll leave OLED for my TV.

Sticking with the Alienware AW3418DW for my PC.

Does anyone know if a good KVM that doesn't break the bank? I want to dual purpose this monitor for work as well.
Depends on the size of said bank. I have a larger variant of this one which fully supports G-Sync, 144Hz, HDR and everything.

I may buy this, my PC monitor is the last screen that's not Olod in my house, and that needs to change fast.

That's awesome, and a lot cheaper than I expected. About $1800 CAD after conversion I am guessing.

At that price though, it's probably going to sell like hot cakes, so good luck to us all finding it in stock on/around release date.

Does the one you linked not support Gsync, HDR, and High refresh rate?

Really considering selling my current LG ultrawide that I got last year and getting this. Also considering the 42" C2 but I'm not sure if I have enough depth on my desk for that (assuming they have a similar design as the C1 with the lower end sticking several inches out in the back).

I think I may grab this and grab a AWMS-2-LTH75 and use my current LG 34UC79G as the top monitor and then phase the 34UC79G with the 34 Alienware becomes the top monitor and the main is a 49' QD-OLED from Alienware. I hope we get a 32:9 QD-OLED from Alienware/Dell.

Nah it really depends on the supply. $1000+ high end UW market doesn't sell anything like hot cakes.
