Q; You're going to have to clarify the whole "mysticism" thing. What about Scarlet Witch, Dr Strange, the Asguardians, and Wakandan deities?
A: There is no Scarlet Witch in the MCU. There is a Wanda Maximoff. Dr Strange (film) is not included in the project. He first appears in Infinity War. This was acceptable because he gives Tony Stark a clear introduction and even cites the purpose for his heroism, to "protect their reality." With norse deities, there is a huge canonical issue in the MCU surrounding the Asguardians. In Thor, it is indicated twice that the Asguardians received their "deity" label by primitive humans who would have worshiped them as gods in response to their power. In Thor: The Dark World, Odin emphatically and categorically says to Loki, "We are not gods." In Thor: Ragnarok, these pieces of information are completely ignored and without explanation, the Asguardians, including Odin, are now referring to themselves and each other as gods. Such canonical errors were addressed in the Super-Movie by removing all of the self-references to deity made by the Asguardians to keep consistent with the story lines in Thor 1 & 2. Appearances by and mentions of Wakandan deities have been removed entirely.
The gods in Thor are mostly presented as aliens, it even mentions cutting stuff from Ragnarok that indicates they're actual gods unlike the previous movies.
