Where the hell do you get the materials to craft a quiver? Looks like a log?
I've spent way too much time looking for this.

Sometimes there are troops carrying it that you can mark with senu. Or ships in the lake.Where the hell do you get the materials to craft a quiver? Looks like a log?

Giza is amazing, that feeling when you approach a pyramid and enter inside. Why can you quick select between tools?, is annoying to enter the menu when you want to change between poison and sleep darts.
It's next to nothing, even less compared to Black Flag. And even then, it's breaks the immersion everytime. I really wish they would just get rid of all that Abstergo nonsense. Almost no one is playing the games for modern stuff, we want to experience the past.
GTAV still takes the underwater crown.I love how you can climb up the side of any mountain, no matter how high. I found a synchronization point last night that was just nuts.
Oh, and underwater in this game is absolutely fantastic. Second to none in this regard.

I haven't really tried to be this stealthy in an AC game since Brotherhood. In Origins, being stealthy, even if only to reduce the opposition or sabotage a camp before getting aggressive, feels encouraged and useful.
Quoting myself - really curious to know other's opinion on this.I'm considering buying this game for the setting alone, but from the (ver few) trailers I saw, it looks like it is kind of borrowing a lot from Breath of the Wild? What's the impression here from gamers who loved BOTW? Does it remind you (in a negative way) or is it a different thing altogether?
Certainly. This is still up there, for sure. Especially in terms of swimming and things to explore. Add in the environment as well and it's just amazing.
Bayek hallucinates if you spend a bit long in the desert. I had a ghost appear behind me on my horse lolSometimes there's a short ambient sound playing which sounds like there's a baby moaning in my room. Creepy as hell, and I can't really make out what it's supposed to be instead.

Happy Halloween!Sometimes there's a short ambient sound playing which sounds like there's a baby moaning in my room. Creepy as hell, and I can't really make out what it's supposed to be instead.
Having seen a lot saying it's rather "janky" (it certainly looked that way from the video too), does it at least play better than the melee combat of TW3? I'm not super huge on most open-world games for various reasons, but if the gameplay and combat mechanics are fun enough, I can deal with them. I barely got through TW3, and that was soley off the merits of the story and characters alone. I don't expect anything remotely similar with this game, so it needs to actually be better to play.
Not one afaik. Are there lots of 'Follow this guy' missions? Hated them in the other games
Ah, good to be here :)
Haven't played a AC since Brotherhood - but Zelda made me somewhat interested in this again and I like the setting.
Is there an option in the game for some kind of Pro HUD? Tried to play it at Gamescom for 15 minutes, but got confused with the mission markers. It's not a good game to demo in a short amount of time at an expo, but it felt a bit cluttered nevertheless...
This makes me happy, will pick up after I finish Mario
Guys, i played AC, AC II, Brotherhood, Revelations, ACIII, and didnt finish and care about black flag... I really loved the franchise and the modern day story back in the days. So , what about jumping directly to origins in terms of story?. I really like the egypt set, but i dont want to play the other games.

If you don't have a quest selected, the only UI elements shown are the compass and minimap at the top.
It's very clean.
Does it make more sense to disassemble rather than sell off weapons/armor?
Absolutely. I always wondered if anyone likes this Abstergo Stuff. I definetly do NOT.It's next to nothing, even less compared to Black Flag. And even then, it's breaks the immersion everytime. I really wish they would just get rid of all that Abstergo nonsense. Almost no one is playing the games for modern stuff, we want to experience the past.
Okay, but jut to be sure - there is no 'No Hud' or 'Pro Mode'? From what I've seen on the Giantbomb QL, it was a bit much for me. Would love to discover the world a bit more on my own.
I experienced this in Shadow of War and it's seriously annoying considering I have a baby sleeping in the other room. I had to constantly remove my headphones to make sure it wasn't IRL lol. Haven't started Origins yet but I hope it's not like SoW again.
Awesome, thanks for the impressions!I haven't left the first region yet and have only played a few hours, but so far I am really enjoying it. I got my copy along with Super Mario Odyssey, and at first it wasn't really grabbing my attention as well as Mario. Overall, the first 30 minutes to an hour kinda felt a little weird as I acclimated to the game. The performance on PS4 Pro seemed a little rough during the opening scenes, but since smoothed out. The controls and feel of the character also took a little getting used to. Now however, I feel like I am getting into it quite a lot.
I would really recommend staying in the Siwa area, and working through some of the missions there. It kinda feels like a tutorial area, and has eased me into the game really well. Regarding your question about the BOTW comparisons. Being able to climb most buildings and landscapes is probably the biggest similarity. It gives you a lot more freedom on how to clear out enemy encampments. The tools, weapons and armour also work in a similar way, as you can kinda mix up your approach and play style. I would also say the exploration is slightly similar, in that it gives you a massive world to explore, which has ridiculous scale. Though I haven't left Siwa yet, and I'm not so sure how free you are to just explore.
The modern story is a big part of why I was drawn to the series back in the AC2 days. I actually haven't liked how they've handled it in the games starting with AC4 because it's all seemed like skippable filler with literal no-name protagonists. Getting to uncover emails and stuff that expanded on the lore was cool and all, but there was nothing actually moving the story forward or giving you a clear idea of what they were shooting for.Absolutely. I always wondered if anyone likes thgis Abstergo Stuff. I definetly do NOT.
I love Black Flag, but that was my first AC game so I didn't have the fatigue many did. Unity was mediocre, Syndicate was good but kind of boring and I didn't care for London. So far, Origins is giving me that Black Flag sense of exploration and wonder. I've never actually been a huge fan of the AC lore beyond the historical stuff, probably because I never played those earlier games. But Bayek is very likeable early on, I want to see more of his personal story.
