Plenty of liberals are definitely only on the 'left'/progressive when it comes to identity politics and are content with centrist policies otherwise, but it's not that we need LESS protection and mobilization for POCs, trans people, etc (we need more), it's just that you can't ignore the economic side of things, intersectional inequality, etc. Kasperian has completely lost the plot but TYT has also been shit for years so it's not too great a surprise.

Ana is now pushing right-wing copaganda with a video about the epidemic of organized retail theft in America and, of course, specifically focusing in on San Francisco. She cites Walgreens multiple times, despite the fact that Walgreens came out and admitted they lied about the impact that theft had on their business.
In the video, she repeats propaganda from federal authorities that retail theft is an "absolute threat to public safety" and that some of it now involves "international crime syndicates, drug cartels and terrorist groups."
She spends the entire video implying that "the left" is stupid for not believing what the authorities are claiming. You see, if you were a real socialist and not pretending to be one, you would care about these large corporations being stolen from. If you swapped out The Young Terfs logo on the video for a Fox News logo, no one would blink an eye.

After seeing so many pundits and reps slowly shifting to the right, I have this feeling there is a grift. I''ve seen a fair few left and centrist commentator slightly pivots to the right, then after a while, go full force to the right. And I get this feeling it's because of money and loyalty from right-wing audiences, that they are more profitable and gullible to exploit.
They are willing to throw their values and ideals under the bus that I question whether they have them in the first place.

Something about transphobia rots the brain faster than any other bigotry form, and also leads right into every other type of bigotry. It just breaks people's brains.
I don't think so. I think these people just had poor convictions to begin with and start shifting because of ego. They can't stand others on the left criticizing them so out of pure spite, they'll start shifting and as they get more and more validation from the other side that's stopped criticizing them, they start moving full onto the right. I think this describes a lot of these people that move to the right because many of them sound genuinely angry and so many times I have seen it start with leftists disagreeing or calling out one of their takes. Just rots their brain

It's a thing coming up more and more with "long time leftists". Specifically of getting criticized on something with trans related issues, and they lash out about it and their brain breaks. Then trans people inconspicuously get blamed for turning them right wing.
