Sand... and salt...?Ya know, the trucks that put sand and salt down for slippery roads.
Has anyone ever been to that Fantastic Arcade thingy that Wiley Wiggins got set up? What's that like exactly? Also, are there any normal like Arcades in Austin anymore? I feel like the only cabinets I find are the ones in Laundry Mats. ;_;
Congrats on being a mod! Nice to have an Austinite in high command. ;_;7Ya know, the trucks that put sand and salt down for slippery roads.
BTW I worked with (unofficially) Felicia on the Stop the signal viral for dollhouse and she's a sweetheart and an honest geek I promise.
That meetup was so long ago I'm surprised the pictures weren't in black and white
Central Texan checking in. I'm a little north of Austin, but close enough to enjoy the comforts it provides.
If any of you all would like to meet up again at Pinballz original or near Lakeline, let me know. The meetup that I host with a bunch of my friends once rotated there before low turnout, but we can again.
That's what's up. I lived up in Killeen and Belton back in the '00s so I'm pretty familiar with the 254. :PSouthern edge of Salado. I have a farm out here. My in-laws are in San Antonio, so we pass through Austin on a regular basis.

Yeah, honestly, I miss living in the city. Born and raised in Miami, made stops in Orlando, Jacksonville, and most recently Atlanta. Met my wife (who's from here) and took a huge step out of my comfort zone by moving out onto this farm. It's family land, so it's not like we are all alone out here. But still. Pretty big life change. It definitely has its advantages, though. A thousand or so acres to ourselves makes for some serious peace and quiet. My son loves it here, too. So it's all good. And like I said, still close enough to the city that we can make the drive over with ease.
My biggest gripe is the piss-poor internet options. Satellite can only do so much.
A thousand acres even out there has got to be more property taxes than my meager quarter acre, which is just enough space for the HOA to complain about something frivolous.
Congrats though. I was living the single life in an apartment just a few years ago. I can relate to the rapid life change.
Btw, here is the old Austin meet up, around the turn of the century.
WHAT!?Loved Verts when it first launched, but yeah, they're trying to go mainstream. Not even selling beef/lamb mix now :(
WHAT!?
That was like...their whole thing.
Jeez...I haven't been in a few months. Ugh.
I feel like we've said that 3 times already.Well, winter finally came! Lol. Be sure to cover your plants tonight as it's gonna get below freezing this evening. Stay warm guys. ;_;7
Chances are high! Considering we talk about the weather and food exclusively round these parts.
Aw shit. Bummer man. Luckily my wife just came home.My wife's usual 45minute commute up 138 got stretched into almost 2 hours. :(
Yup. I didn't think it was gonna stick but so far so good. Looking at the radar, it's gonna be like this for awhile? Wew
