The Championship absolutely embarrasses the Premier League for unpredictability and competition.

If you're only interested in the top leagues than it's the PL. But the PL is trumped by The Championship.

Lol with 5 out of 5 CL and 4 out of 5 EL won by Spanish teams in the last 5 years, this year's finals are filled by English teams for the first and probably last time ever, and suddenly the Premier League is the best by far.
Let's see if they can keep that up in the coming seasons, and then we will say.
Yeah, what a ridiculous hyperbole.

Probably never? I don''t have any idea but winning like the past 5 Champions Leagues and 4 of the last 5 Europe Leagues says a lot, I only see 3 English teams in those 10 finals

If you extend this to include the European Cup from before it became the Champions League, there's only one country that had winners more than five years in a row.

I'll let you guess which one it is.

It's clearly the SPL and whoever disagrees is another pawn in the conspiracy against <insert either old firm team here> by the SFA.

Traitors will be punished.

La Liga by far, Real and Barcelona are ahead of everyone else in any other league. What happened this year in Europe competitions is an accident and not representative of reality.

Which makes it worse. Out of 10 finals, only 3 had English teams (16 and 17 Europa League, 18 Champions), and only 1 didn't have any Spanish team (2017 Europa League).

What happened in the other 7, if they were not only Spanish affairs?

The English Premier has been the best league to watch for quite some time.

Thats not me saying it has the best teams, it has the most excitement. Although no game or derby in the English premier matches up to an Old Firm game. :)

And this is coming from a Scotsman.
Yeah, English derbies are boring and surprisingly soulless. And this is coming from a German.

What's happened is that the EPL have finally surpassed the Spanish in the PED game. EPL has the money and the finest chemists that money can buy. The era of Spanish dominance at club level is over.

This. Although the quality has decreased since the Partuck Thistle mascot disappeared into the Championship.

Also, it hosts the team with the best European Cup fairytale in football history.

Also, also - what the hell does it even matter to have people agree your league is "best" - just seems like dick waving for the sake of it and unsurprising to come from EPL stans either.

Barcelona keep walking the league and Real Madrid are a cup team who are now completely average now Ronaldo isn't there to carry them. La Liga is also incredibly frustrating to watch because of all of play acting and complaining to the ref. Someone here once described it as a wealthy SPL and it's true. Admittedly Liverpool's incredible form is the only thing stopping the EPL turning into Ligue 1 but for unpredictability before the title is won there's no contest in the top leagues.

English dominance in today's Euro football climate feels more flash-in-the-pan tbh but fuck yeah England! . . . . needs all the positive distractions that they could get.

I think it's closer then people think. Barcelona and Real Madrid might have dominated the Premier League too over the past few decades. I would say the Premier League has more good teams while La Liga has the 2 best teams of the bunch.

No they wouldn't, if barca and Real were in the premier league they will consistently be in the top 6, but there is no guarantee they will win even a quarter of what they have won in La liga.

United Kingdom
1. English Championship
2. English Premier League
3. La Liga

England actually has the most entertaining and most competitive two leagues in Europe

You people have no idea what you're missing by not watching the greek Superleague. It's essentially the antifootball. Crazy shit is going on each and every week. Just a few recent examples:

- This year's Cup final will be played in Athens' biggest stadium, with a capacity of 65,000 or so spectators, but only 1000 or so fans from each team will be allowed inside. The Minister of Sports has issued a ban on people attending because the government is afraid that the ultras from each side will cause riots and beat each other up. So the Cup final will be played in front of 2,000 people in a huge almost empty stadium. The police will outnumber the fans: 3,000 police officers will be present.

- In the last few months there have been two separate incidents of people beating up superleague referees. Not during matches. They were stalked at their houses and beaten up by multiple people when exiting them. The police is investigating some sort of connection between the attackers and one of the country's biggest clubs, Olympiacos. Olympiacos' president also owns Nottingham Forest.

- The league ended a week ago and we still aren't sure how many teams will be relegated. A league restructuring is supposed to go into effect next year which means that four teams are supposed to be relegated this year, but some teams are putting pressure on the greek football federation and the minister of sports to reverse that decision. So it's possible that some teams will avoid relegation after the league has ended and some teams from the second division will not be promoted even though they secured a play-off spot.

Those are just the tip of a huge smelly iceberg.

Premier is the best top to bottom simply because they do a better job spreading the money around. I don't think there's much to debate here.

Top half of La Liga may be better tho.
Yep. Chelsea and Man City got rich and joined the elite. Financial fair play is designed to stop that happening elsewhere, keep the current top clubs at the top. So competition is dying in many leagues, some with just one club dominating. That means English clubs have more big club match experience against a wider variety of teams. A team like PSG don't get that with too many easy games.

The stupid TV money the competition at the top has provided strengthens the whole epl as it's spread in a way that doesn't happen in some countries. You're not likely to get a Leicester equivalent in most leagues.

Now FFP is screwing some of those teams over they're relaxing that and are trying to fix permanent champions League places based on past glories instead.

La Liga is boring these days, Serie A is just the Juve league and Bundesliga is just the Bayern league. Of course the prem will probably just be the man city league from now on sadly but at least exciting stuff happens in it.

Pep will tire and look for a new challenge or at least I hope that's the case.

The premier league lacks the crazy owners, corruption and genuine superstar players that made late 80s and 90s Serie A so special.

The ticket pricing and the corporate wankfest has killed fan culture as well. You have to go to the lower leagues to get good atmosphere.

The Premier League is the most difficult and most exciting league in the world. La Liga has had two of the best teams for a long period. And the success the last years in Europa is mostly because of Ronaldo and Messi. Now i would argue that City and Liverpool are the two best teams in the world right now. I dont know how long its going to last.

The Premier League hasn't been retained in 9 or 10 years, for what it's worth. Man City will probably break that run on Sunday, but it shows how competitive the league actually is. Manchester United under SAF in 2009 were the last side to actually win back to back titles. 4 sides have won the title over that 10 year span, 6 different sides have finished runner up.

It's not been a 2 or 3 team league. There's been no real domination over 10 years. True competition.

That's why it's argued as the best league in the world.

Yeah, the contrast between the amount of money the english teams have and the results they delivered is ridiculous.
