How subversive.I mean, he called his special Paper Tiger. Good job taking the bait, I guess.

Love that instead of engaging with people's criticisms for what they are, you'd prefer an echo chamber with no dissenting voices. Sounds pretty sensitive to me.Love that instead of ignoring comedians they don't like people get pressed and still hate watch anyway lmao
Wouldn't know. I tend to wait until I see something before I rate it.
Why wouldn't we? Although I guess I am harder on Dave because his talents have been much greater than everyone else. All I want, is for people to trash him the same exact way they trashed Chappelle, if the jokes/content is similar.

One is a politician, whose sole purpose is power and to enact change...So are Trump's campaign rallies. Are you telling people not to get upset by what they hear? Comedy can actually be as dangerous as Trump's rhetoric. I'm not saying Bill is on that level, but some of Chappelle's transgender jokes are.
In a normal world I'd agree. But Trump is no politician. He's a performer and a narcissist. Just like a comedian. And both Dave and Trump attempt to normalize hate speech. One is a politician, whose sole purpose is power and to enact change...
The other is a comedian. Someone who says things and writes strange observations to make people laugh and get a rise out of them.
Their roles and importance couldn't be farther apart.
Are we seriously at a point that people think a comedian has the same power and dangerousness as our shitstain president?
His podcast is amazing. I could honestly listen to him rant for hours on end, he's just insanely entertaining.
I really enjoy Bill Burr, but I've had to stop seeking out videos of him on YouTube because it almost always ends up filling up my recommended videos with red pill garbage.
It's funny. When I saw him here in Seattle, I saw a few dude bro/red pill types wandering around before the show. The kind of guys who don't "get" the jokes for the right reasons. Nia actually mentioned this once in the podcast. She was like "half of your audience ain't shit" or something like that. Bill knows too, that's why it seems like he'll go out of his way to make sure his jokes don't sound TOO much like punching down.

I LOVE Bill Burr, but he says the same jokes a lot. He said the "working on me" bit on Conan.
I doubt it after watching that trailer. The Chappelle was weak as hell and had the whole 2 edgy for you mentality.Fucking love Bill Burr and I can't wait for this special.
I know the thread here is going to be just like the Chappelle thread.
he had a set on The Degenerates, which is kind of a roundup of Bonfire/SiriusXM/Cellar-adjacent comediansWhen is Netflix gonna give Big Jay Oakerson a special?! Dudes up there with Patrice O'Neal for me. They have a similar vibe.
Criticisms before they've seen the special? Nothing more sensitive than that.Love that instead of engaging with people's criticisms for what they are, you'd prefer an echo chamber with no dissenting voices. Sounds pretty sensitive to me.

Well yeah, the special is 6 months old at this point, comedians will use stuff from their upcoming specials on talkshows etc etc..I LOVE Bill Burr, but he says the same jokes a lot. He said the "working on me" bit on Conan.
I've always enjoyed his interviews more than the stand-up of his I've seen, but maybe I'll give this one a shot.
Well yeah, you saw the live version of the special...Burr's bits have gotten pretty tired. Saw him live in November and everything just felt so familiar.
yeah angry white man gets pretty anyoing after a while.Burr's bits have gotten pretty tired. Saw him live in November and everything just felt so familiar.
Ah, I thought you meant after watching the special that it seemed similar.
