Darksiders: Genesis announcement (UP: Teaser Trailer)

Based on what I've played of Diablo 3's Demon Hunter I'd see how this could work but I'll admit I'm not as excited if it was an RPG.
That being said since it's rumored Airship Syndicate is working on it and it looks like their Battle Chasers engine 1:1 I'm willing to bet this could be real.
I sure hope you're not stuck as Strife but if this is the "strife game" for the series I won't be entirely pissed off, just hard to get hyped about a loot game where you only play as one character with one skill set.

DS1 = Zelda
DS2 = Diablo
DS3 = Dark Souls
So they use different "genre mechanics" to portray each character. A top down shooter or putting in "bullet hell" elements would not be completely off to go with when approaching Strife's game.

They managed to get Jasper Kyd for both Darksiders 2 and Battle Chasers so since Airship Syndicate is working on it I imagine it's him again. It'd be weird to have someone new.

Wow a Diablo style Darksiders almost seems so obvious that I can't believe I never thought of it until it happened.

I get that it's a meme at this point but it's been established since DSII happened that the games would be prequels to introduce the other horsemen before building to a finale with all of them. I've seen these posts on every DS thread at this point.
I kinda dig it, will have to get a peak at some long-term gameplay footage to see if this is up my alley! Haven't disliked a Darksiders game yet so fingers crossed this one delivers too!
Those snippets of gameplay actually looked pretty damn good.
I wonder if this counts as the Strife game, lol.
