Yeah, after getting the 100$ stick up for the ultra deluxe good boy edition and the "finger guns emote," I'm pretty adverse to spending more money. Seems a lot of people in this thread are excited, and Destiny 2 is admittedly a satisfying game, but I don't think I can pay the fun tax again.
Please give me skill trees backJust to clarify, the game has 3 separate main classes each with 3 unique sub-classes that will now have 3 paths within each individual sub-class.
Nothing of interest
I'm out
Sucks, but Bungie scorned me with their bullshit
Putting my money in other purchases that at least I know I won't be lied to

Scott Taylor said, "On the subclasses right now there are two diamonds on the right at the top and bottom of the screen. We're essentially inserting a third one. We'll probably deliver three on day one, and have the others take a little bit longer than players are used to. imagine one or two weeks before you can even earn the next batch. They won't all be available on day one."
They should definitely include the previous 2 dlc's (warmind and osirirs) with the purchase of forsaken! Or create a cheaper bundle at least.
I already have the DLC, so not a big issue for me personally. Gonna hold of and not get it day 1; see how the game is supported trough out the rest of the year. Warmind and osiris were average at best.
Although I know i'm weak and may just cave. Half the fun of destiny 2 was being there since day 1.
Hold on,
Did I just read there's a mutherfucking dragon in this?
Eh. It's not uncommon for big expansion to be planned and worked on before the main game even launches. Typically a game would be feature complete about 2-3 months before release so the majority of the dev team can move on.I still think this was all meant for D2 but was cut to get the game out. There's no way this is all just a reaction to what happened late last year.

They'd better implement Nightfall matchmaking.
People can discuss Raid matchmaking all they like, but pretty much any other activity in the game should have optional matchmaking and it's very silly that it doesn't at this point.

Whoa whoa.
Wait, are you serious?
I thought Warmind had won you over once again.
Yeah, but if we're to believe them, their plan was to turn Destiny 2 into a casual-ified turd of a game, which they did with the release of D2. Around October-December they knew it was a complete failure of a plan. If what you're saying is true, the expansion would have been initiated as a continuation of what D2 was released as. I dont buy it. I think the D2 we got was the end result of them not having enough time to complete D2 the way they intended due to the game essentially being restarted a year or so prior to release (according to Kotaku).Eh. You know what I'll probably wait until Destiny 3 comes out to play more D2. I mean I only have the base game so jumping in at Forsaken would be a bit pricey.
I have zero faith in D3 if it comes out in 2019Yeah, but if we're to believe them, their plan was to turn Destiny 2 into a casual-ified turd of a game, which they did with the release of D2. Given what they did between D2 and D1, D3 has a good chance of being a huge disappointment moreso than Forsaken could ever be.
Agreed. Hopefully they've learned a lot from their failure of getting rid of everything we already had.
So you can't sword your way through everything.- Sword, Rocket, Drum-based Grenade Launcher, Linear Fusion are assigned to Power Slot, you can't equip them on Energy/Kinetic Slot.
To be fair, they could just do like what they did with Fighting Lion originally - make it go into a nonstandard ammo type. Why not put in an exotic lightsaber that uses energy ammo at this point?
I need to find these people who want random rolls. I want to look into their eyes.
Yeah, that is epically stupid. Especially given that Bungie thought so little of the lore that they didn't even bother to put it in the original game. Gameplay/Options >>>backstory.Smh people here don't want new class coz it will mess up the lore? No offence but it's coz of people like you Destiny is bad and not Bungie alone .
New class is far more valuable than whatever stupid lore is there in Destiny.

Bungie, will you please just make shaders non-consumable so I can enjoy playing this fucking game again? I've given up on the PvP ever feeling right, but just fix the damn shaders so I can have fun with them again.
They will still be consumable but now u will be able to pull as many as you want out of your collection as soon as you find 1. They will cost glimmer or dust but will hav e no cost to apply them.

This. Raid matchmaking would overall be a disaster. Now, I'm not against having it added to old Raids later. For example, by the time Rise of Iron released, there was really no reason for Crota's End on Normal not to have matchmaking. And there is probably an argument to be had for Raid Lairs a few months after they launch.
But overall, the way to do it is an LFG system. Available from the Launch screen of specific activities: Raids and Trials. Make a Fireteam with specific details (must be ____ Power Level, game must detect a mic, etc) that people can join or you can go through a list, page by page, of people looking for people so you can join. You would then enter the in-game voice chat immediately if it's available. This should also be an option for the Launch screen when you go to simply Patrol a planet, which would help players who are doing specific quests or activities like Escalation Protocol.
Everything else, however, needs optional matchmaking. It would always be on by default unless you turn it off via a toggle on the Launch screen prior to entering the activity. Vanguard Strikes, Heroic Strikes, Normal and Prestige NIghtfall, Daily Heroic Missions, any Prison of Elders/Challenge of Elders-type activity, etc.
Seriously, if they're bringing back Daily Heroic Missions, there is absolutely no reason why it shouldn't have matchmaking. I would have made it a point to do it every day during D1 just for fun if I could quickly team up with other players. The game needs to be brought up to speed with the most basic of social features that most other games like it already have.
Like I said, fix the shaders so I can have fun with them again. That change does nothing for me when I can't freely swap them as often as I want. It sucks.
I still think they should go back and make Guided Games work. Any good group of 4 that's on the same page can guide 2 reasonably skilled randos through the game. Obviously, raiding guilds aren't that interested in adding randos when they can just add another 2 members they're sure will be good. So they need some incentive to do it.
I was shocked when Guided Games launched without any sort of incentive. I mean - there wasn't even cosmetics! There's not even a ship or an emblem stating how many guided games you completed or anything. There was just no reason to do it other than the goodness of your own heart, so no one did it, and because everyone knew no one did it no one bothers to queue up and it takes an hour just to find a game.
They need to give rewards with teeth, which is easier now that they've added some grind back into the game. Right now I'm thinking everyone who participates in a guided game should get a random exotic masterwork drop (or maybe use a currency that makes it so you need to raid twice or three times, I don't know how the numbers will work out). There should definitely be exclusive cosmetics, an awesome shader you can't get anywhere else, and maybe some kind of halo effect like prestige nightfall gives you. They should have leaderboards where guilds compete for the most sherpas completed, win percentage, and time to complete. Just give people a reason to use guided games and it solves all the matchmaking issues.
Like I said, fix the shaders so I can have fun with them again. That change does nothing for me when I can't freely swap them as often as I want. It sucks.
They could easily bs their way around it, too. "Oh, shit, the Traveler did something weird! What's this? New powers?! B-baka na...!"Yeah, that is epically stupid. Especially given that Bungie thought so little of the lore that they didn't even bother to put it in the original game. Gameplay/Options >>>backstory.
What is the reasoning behind separating single-shot grenade launchers from the rest? Unless they plan on bringing magazine-fed grenade launchers up to the same amount of damage and AOE as them - but even then, they'd be a bit underpowered as power weapons.
