Even if we agree that Vergil didn't care about Dante and his family at the beginning of DMC3 (which I don't agree with, he fully knew that Dante would survive that, I mean they are twin brothers, he knows what are Dante's powers), Vergil clearly realizes that he was wrong by the end of DMC3 and shows that he cares for Dante when says that Dante needs to get out of demon world if he doesn't wanna get trapped there. (and then jumping off that cliff so Dante would actually leave instead of sticking around to bring Vergil back to human world)
Not to mention, he was willing to share the power of Sparda with Dante at the beginning but Dante refused him and denied their father, so Vergil had no choice but to take the amulet by force. So considering all of that, at the very least, I think would've told Nero to give Yamato back to him, before showing up out of the blue and literally ripping the arm of his son in mere seconds.
Also Vergil is not his usual self in this game. He is corrupted and that corruption will most definitely have a huge impact on his actions. I mean, if the corruption only had a visual effect on Vergil's skin, I doubt Dante would've been so mad that he would go on a vengeance trip for Vergil's sake.
From Capcom's PR:
Not only the 3.1.4.2 book confirms this, but the VAs for Dante, Nero and Vergil confirmed this as well. Reuben (Dante's VA) said that the team expected for people to put the hints together and figure it out but instead people went crazy and thought Nero was Sparda re-incarnated or Vergil somehow stored himself in Nero's arm, etc.
And not to mention the very very clear hint at that red dress girl passing by Vergil in the DMC4SE's opening.
FINALLY, there hasn't been a single threat in this series canon since Dante killed the biggest threat in the first game. There was an official post on the Japanese twitter about the new bad guy.
Demon emperor, stronger than Mundus even (who is prince of darkness).
Finally an actual threat to the gang!
Apparently the DMC4 novel was confirmed canon, and Vergil is Nero's father in that.
I am def in the camp that thinks Nero is Vergil's son, but is there any confirmed ages? I seem to see people say Dante and Vergil are 19 in DMC3 and Nero is 10 years younger than Dante in DMC4, making him 19 which means he was born when Vergil was 9? Yeesh.

I'm pretty sure Nero is not even 20 in DMC4 while Dante is like 40. I think Vergil did the deed at around 16, but I guess that would make it before DMC3 so idk.
A little better, but still not great. Sorry for confusion if I worded that weird, got a cold right now so my brain is even worse than it usually is lmao.
Nero is said to be 19 in DMC4 I think, which would make Dante 29? I could believe he's older though. Wish we had an official age lol.
I'm almost positive that Dante is older than 29 in 4. I think DMC4 takes place 10 years after DMC1, not DMC3. But yeah the only way to explain Nero is teenage pregnancy.
Vergil looks old enough on the DMC 4 SE cutscene and thats when it happenedAh yeah, I was looking at the info wrong. Seems Dante is closer to 40 in DMC4. I guess that doesn't confirm Nero's mom as being younger than 18 but yikes Vergil lmao.
We got a cutscene in DMC4SE where Vergil walks past a woman and the woman looks back at him interested? We all assumed hinting that hard could only mean that's Nero's mother when we already got that much from the artbook.
Arkham was pretty freaky villain.FINALLY, there hasn't been a single threat in this series canon since Dante killed the biggest threat in the first game.
Arkham was pretty freaky villain.
New one had to be moar power but i hope thats not everything and he is no Mundus 2.0
I like the red tree

Yeah but he was manipulative, evil and cunning, Arkham defeated the brothers without even fighting and he would have won if not for the twins working together.Freaky doesn't mean he was a threat though.
Vergil straight up tells him he couldn't handle the POWER
Man, I wish Marionettes would make a return. I loved their design in DMC1.
Glad Hell finally getting their shit together, I don't know how Belial took over after Mundus. Shit Lucifer got off screened by Dante before DMC4.

Getting MGS4 final boss vibes from this idea. I like it.Hope we get some flashback sequences. Imagine playing as dante and fighting vergil as the game flashes between the moonlit fight in 3 , nelo angelo in the courtyard in 1 and present day. Imagine if the movesets of the bosses and you changed to represent the different games. So much potential.
Prequel though. We already knew that Dante wouldn't die and would end up growing up and fighting Mundus.Arkham was pretty freaky villain.

Would make sense since he seems mostly normal aside from his arm.
DMC3 is chronologically before all the other games, though. Dante and Vergil are young and inexperienced then, but by the time DMC4 rolls around, Dante is 100% fucking around, and nothing is a threat to him. Heck, it's telling that the final boss of Bloody Palace is him!Yeah but he was manipulative, evil and cunning, Arkham defeated the brothers without even fighting and he would have won if not for the twins working together.
Also Lady kills him later.
I been waiting for one that puts Dante and Vergil on their places, but of course that could be reserved for dmc 6
Yeah, I think it doesn't help that Nero's DT brings out a huge spirit that follows him around while using Yamato. It's not hard to see that it's Vergil in spirit form.Lol dude it took me and three other friends 15 minutes to convince the fifth person that Vergil wasn't fucking possessing Nero through the Devil Bringer.
I get there were hints, but in his defense, Capcom kinda dropped the ball on this plot point in 4.
It would go against all we know about Sparda being a compassionate demon if he's just casually ripping off arms. It really is best to just apply Occams razor here. It's Vergil.Just a thought out of the blue but what if the hooded figure that is stealing Neros arm isn't Vergil, but Sparda?
Yeah we assumed that due to him appearing mostly human but think about it- Dante and Vergil appears completely human all the time.
What if all that is human in him comes from his dad, and the demon arm comes from a demon mother?
You laugh now, but there were serious long discussions about this. And every time someone brought it up I was likeLol dude it took me and three other friends 15 minutes to convince the fifth person that Vergil wasn't fucking possessing Nero through the Devil Bringer.

Are you talking about this or new stuff? They just did a pretty long interview on xbox mixer. Unfortunately, I didn't pay much attention so idk if they covered anything new
Hehe well it was still well made.Prequel though. We already knew that Dante wouldn't die and would end up growing up and fighting Mundus.
Except that Gohan still aint shit and Goku/Vegeta pire blooded Super Saiyans doing all the work.Someone on reddit mentioned that Dante says that Nero has the potential to be stronger than him in the book.
Could be another sayian situation where human blood is actually super powerful. Anyone who read it could verify?
Except that Gohan still aint shit and Goku/Vegeta pire blooded Super Saiyans doing all the work.
I dont think Nero is actually ever going to be stronger than Dante. Maybe Nero can defeat Vergil because of writing and plot reasons but I like Dante over Nero in a death battle free.
nah, it was completely different. on the couch @ mixer set
edit: they finally put it online here: https://mixer.com/Xbox?vod=38224649 around 3h53m
