The kicker? The family went to the news because DoorDash hasn't responded to them for two weeks despite video evidence.

https://6abc.com/food/doordash-driver-sips-milkshake-before-delivery/5224274/

The family didn't learn about the incident until the next day -- after Rishab had already finished the frozen treat.

"My dad told me to check out the video from last night, and once I checked it out I brushed five, six times," Rishab said. "I felt really disgusted."

The family claims they have reached out to the company several times. Two weeks after the incident and they still haven't heard back.

I'm too paranoid of this exact thing to get Drinks via delivery service.

The only time I've had to get a hold of customer service for this kind of service was before the GrubHub/Eat24 merger. Eat24 customer service was amazingly responsive.

This is why I'm glad places like McDonalds has food courier specific packaging so that you know if they were tampered with.

When I order Mcflurries they wrap them pretty well in Pladtic wrap

Here I'm Canada with Skip, drinks are almost always straweless when delivered, with the straw itself still in the wrapper. Red flags would be going off if I delivery driver handed me a drink with the straw already inserted. Fucking disgusting.

Ayyy, this is why I rarely ever use these sub-contractor based delivery services. Why wouldn't not-technically-an-employee Joe Schmo driving around for basically 7 bucks an hour cop a handful of fries and a sip of your frosty beverage? Doordash ain't gonna do shit unless it's really egregious or, as in this case, caught on camera. At least with actually employed delivery drivers, they're going back and forth from the place that makes the food they're delivering, so it's less likely they're going to eat out of your shit when they can just make/order their own grub back at HQ. Hell, they'd probably be tired of eating that shit anyway.

Somewhere
I know of a couple places that do UberEats/Grubhub/Doordash that actually staple the bag shut.

I only order from there now.

Fuck these people that do this.

I got a burger with a hairball in it once as a kid, cause my step-dad was rude to the staff (he was always one rude motherfucker, just sucks I got the short end in this instance.)

So I've always been paranoid about people messing with my ordered food.

These days you don't just have to worry about the restaurant staff, but also the uber/doordash/etc. delivery people. Lovely!

Why the fuck do people have to be so awful all the time. Is anyone just a decent person who doesn't fuck with people anymore?

I cannot justify the price alone of these delivery services. I'm lucky enough to have emergency eats within walking distance of my house if I'm high and can't drive.

Yeah I'm taking it back if I ever see the straw on the cup already. I don't know any fast food place that doesn't leave it in the bag for takeout.

Wow he looks right into the camera.

I would be suspicious if he handed me a milkshake with the straw unwrapped and already in the cup. Though that wouldn't stop him from just putting his mouth all over it. That's disgusting.

Disgusting driver aside, who orders a single milkshake for delivery? What a waste of resources.

Yeah, it's nuts. The one time I used one of these services I wound up spending like $18 for some nuggets, fries, and a latte. It's way out of my budget.

Yeah, can't be ordering food from people off of an app. It's almost the same as delivery drivers that work at the shop, but I don't trust them either. I don't even trust the people that are at the restaurant, but adding this layer of random person handling food, is just too much.

Drinks should be wrapped tight in 2 layers of plastic wrap, at least that is what the places I order from do. If they come unwrapped than its a dead give away somebody tampered with the drink. But the restaraunt is th least at fault here.

Doordash is trash for not responding especially when video evidence exist and can be shared with the whole world.

As for the driver hope he never works again handling food.

That's why I only delivered sealed drinks. Keeping the straws for someone to use themselves c:

And the services are HORRIBLY SLOW, when you raise a complaint. Five incidents of having good thrown at me, a sexist manager and a guy who grabbed me. That last one only got solved because I called the police

DoorDash, Grubhub, UberEats, EatStreet, all horrible customer service.

Brushing 5 or 6 times? Isn't that a tad germaphobic?

I wouldn't brush even once after that. I'd be like meh.

Obviously him stealing some of your drink is pretty shitty though.

If he wanted a sip why would he wait til he's at the front door lol?

Customer service on these apps can be fuckin' dogshit, believe you me.

Having said that, I've also experienced really fast delivery as well. I think it's a fine service, it's super convenient. I can't really hate on it.

But getting an issue dealt with with the customer service of the app can be bad. I have one order in particular that took an hour and a half to get dealt with once.

I would notice immediately if there were already a straw in my drink. I would notice even more that there was milkshake residue on the top part of the straw.
