Dualsense working on PS3

So the same as every other generic USB controller.. I wish they could make the PS button work at least.

There was a workaround for the ds4 to work wireless on ps4, probably the same for the dual sense
I guess the same trick for the DS4 works for DualSense too. I remember it basically just letter you control the games, but pretty much everything else is off. Though it's been a while, could be misremebering.
Yup, would be interesting if it has better native PC support than DS4.
Steam is a wonder for DS4 support, because otherwise DS4 even with DS4windows can be pretty sporadic on other storefronts.
Would be nice to have a Sony controller with native PC support.
if i recall from that conotroller video, he didn't try wired to a PS4, has anyone tried that yet or does it not matter?

No idea lmao I am asking myself the same. There was a video a few days ago Austin Evans connected the Dualsense to a PS4 and it only recognized the mic.
I guess this could be patched via a Fw update on PS4?

They said no.
They said the wireless does work: you have to make the Dualsense discoverable first, then search for it with the PS3.
Hold create and PS button at the same time. The LED's will flash blue. Then, go to accessories settings -> search for new devices -> register.
If the game requires Sixaxis features I know the PS3 will block it 🤔
I don't think they plugged it in via USB from that youtube teardown of it, unless I missed that.
That's how the DS4 worked on the PS3 and that appears to be how the DS works on the PS3 in the op.
CELL might have better compatibility with something after all lol
If it's not a fat PS3 you can access the Home menu with a TV remote via HDMI CEC. Might take a few button inputs but it's better than nothing!
It's getting pretty hard to find new DualShock 3's, so it's good to know that this is an option, even if it's not perfect.
This is the issue I was having.
Ironically it connects and I can move in the UI but none of the buttons work when the game is on.
Interesting. I play at least once a week on PS3 using my white DS4, the only problem is that the PS button doesn't work, so I have to turn the DS3 on to go back to the menu everytime.
I'll probably try again in the future if needed - been a while since I last tested it.
The first time I had to plug it in via cable, but after the initial bluetooth setup, I can just turn on the DS4 through de PS button and it's already working. It works on the menus and every game I tested. But again, unfortunately, it can't go back to the menu.
