Well actually they are doing the opposite of what he was saying with the "play first, pay later". He laid out a situation where a player would already be invested for 40/50 hours in a a game and then they would charge them. EA now is just charging players upfront if they want to be competitive.
I think both are awful but its interesting to see how Wilson's vision differs from Riccitello.

I mean... This is how Ultimate Team has always been in their sports games. It's complete crap. In FIFA you can dump money and get the best players, same here basically only the players are your skills.

This is pretty much how it was in Ultimate Team last UFC game. It's worse, but it's not that different.
Ultimate Team is crap and a waste of money, that I agree. But it should be stated that this doesn't affect any other mode in the game. Ranked matchmaking (which most people on the game play) has no advantages of this kind whatsoever. Nor will this appear in single player. This game can be played without any of this affecting you (and indeed that is what I'll be doing.)

yeah thats a possibility, they design their lootboxes in a way theres almost no way around them.
even nfs has this premium box section thats literally just there useless.
so designing everything around this lootbox thing would make the game literally unplayable
Is this the equivalent of FUT in that it'll only be in one mode ( and there will be online with the real life fighters in a "seasons" equivalent) and they're well be fifa style divisions to keep the whales fighting the whales and those not spending money fighting other players with similar level fighters ?

This is garbage for people who like the UFC games. I haven't watched UFC in a decade but I liked the first one on PS4. I played online against my cousin a lot.

Fortunately you can complete your entire single player career in the 10 hour trial you get with EA Access, but yeah, colour me disgusted.
I honestly thought this was a joke! jesus, the only, and I mean only MT that makes any sense to me from EA is UT, this and the Star Card bullshit, however, Nah, I'm out and as a big Star Wars, Mass Effect and NFS fan, that hurts, especially because the core gameplay mechanics on both games are actually good, thank god for EA access where I can at least try these on the cheap
