Such a good episode. I had to rewatch a few portions of the conversation because I got distracted watching Ian.
I don't remember 90% of it. I'll rewatch it again soon.Such a good episode. I had to rewatch a few portions of the conversation because I got distracted watching Ian.
They thought they could mess with us...
Oh, the folly... If only they had realized...
You come between us and our anime titties?...
Well... Let's just say our dark side comes out...
You have been warned...
Gamers are the fucking worst for real

That's why I watched The Force Awakens. Yes the characters were good but boy was it bad. When 4chan and Reddit are angry at you, you know you've said something right.
Regardless of how you feel about the content (I don't like the fan service either) there are far better ways to address it than putting people down. There are people out there who are angry because they want a reason to be angry and they'll be spewing hatred wherever they're posting, but there are people who feel put down by a throwaway comment from Damiani. Words matter and on the internet, a passing comment can alienate people. It wasn't showing L&R in that moment as there were far better ways to express his thoughts on the matter.Yeah... we're not going to benefit from ignoring a cancer and hoping it cures itself on its own.

Good to know where you stand when it comes to respecting people even when you disagree with their tastes.I've been following online gaming communities for long enough that I no longer care about any offense caused toward these people.
This SNK Heroines BS has actually cost them some patrons. These people need to get a grip.

I honestly sent Huber a concerned text before it was posted because I thought it was a mistake.I don't think the amount of patrons dropped? Maybe 1? I wouldn't get too hung up on it, Patreon is always gonna be pretty fluid.
In other news I'm loving a lot of the new wacky comedic stuff. I wouldn't have thought Ian sitting there eating chilli would be so funny.

It stays hot in Socal for a while so a new studio should still help!I find it pretty funny that they'll have to wait until after summer before they have an air conditioned studio.
Just updated my pledge from 25 to 50 to get the boys to stay above that studio goal, but the final tick was Damiani taking a stand against objectifying women #dont@me #ridethewive #trustthemomentum #dont@me
I guess it'll also be cool to receive that fan mail.
The reddit/Patreon uproar hasn't anything to do with freedom of speech. It's just not nice to say someone is a lesser person for liking a certain game.
I haven't had a chance to watch the podcast yet so I don't want to comment on the specifics, but most of the time, controversies are pretty much isolated to a few places and not reflective at all of the general situation. Like, even during the Peach Beach Splash incident, the Patreon total wasn't affected and the number of patrons remained stable. So probably best to not dwell on it too much.
Going back to this, though. I thought it might have been the Top 10, but it would be out of order and too long. Someone in the comments suggested that it might be Brad's punishment video from the E3 betting special, and since Brad had to whisper to himself too...I'm all in on that train. Guessing the "All" could be a bonus bit!
Getting offended by someone saying, be a better person and not buy this game, is pretty thin skinned. Even if you want to use the L&R defense what Damiani said was not mean spirited. He didn't say you were a bad person, an idiot, or any other insult for buying it. He simply said you would be a better person for not buying it, which could even assume you are already great person. The subtext to me is that by not buying it you are not rewarding the publisher for using fan service and the objectification of women as a way to sell a game. He wants people to use their wallets to reject such practices. No where did he ever say you were a bigot or a misogynist for buying this game. Just like a lot sites at one point asking people not to preorder games, were not telling their readers they were idiots if they did anyway.
So I can't even say for sure he intended it as an insult, but what I do know is like clockwork people out themselves as actual bigots and misogynists anyways in an attempt to demonstrate they feel slighted. Which to me is the real story to this non story. Reminds of the people getting mad about Bethesda's anti nazi campaign for Wolfenstein 2, or the historical accuracy people reacting to BFV, or the people that got outraged at NPR for quoting the Declaration of Independence on July 4th. Actually they aren't being insulted or maligned or attacked, but thanks for letting us know where y'all stand.
Your interpretation makes total sense. I'm pretty sure you're right, especially considering what Blood said earlier in the thread. Each ally has 9 cuts. Hmm...
So, I'm pretty sure there's a video for each ally saying each number from 10 to 2. And 3 variations of the whole group with the number one.
So they can make each Top Ten with different variations.
Pls someone confirm my theory

It's a shame EZA doesn't post a lot of new content on their YouTube page.
This week in EZA content is an embarrassment of riches.
You want this subject to die don't you? stop defending channers or gamegaters, most people in this forum me included doesn't like them. The issue Dmax is that when your approach to dealing with these issues is to make blanket insults to people online, people are going to get more defensive and won't be willing to listen to what you have to say. Also consider that the ideals that you think are important (in this case respectful presentation of women in games) clashes with how you yourself treat others online by doubling down on the insults. If you want to do something other than nothing, go ahead but your actions are more important than what you have to say because how you say something is going to have more weight online particularly when you're focused on a moral question.
I also don't think you have any right to value who should or should not be a fan of EZA.
You clearly lack reading comprehension so let me spell it out in a way that you might be able to grasp. You want this subject to die don't you? stop defending channers or gamegaters, most people in this forum me included doesn't like them.
Let people talk what they have for now instead of discuss with it, that will prolong the subject.
I would agree with you but you can't have an honest discussion with these people, they are trolls. You're basically saying 'be nice with how you treat sexists' which I can't get on board with. The issue Dmax is that when your approach to dealing with these issues is to make blanket insults to people online, people are going to get more defensive and won't be willing to listen to what you have to say. 1. I think fan-service in games particularly in the SNK case is bad.
2. Communicating with people about why it's bad/unhelpful etc is something I support if the goal is to change minds and communicate what why you find it unhelpful.
3. Communication online loses a lot of the nuisances that allows people to have a continued discourse like they would if it were in person.
4. People get defensive if you insult them and when they are defensive, they are less likely to want to engage but rather attack back.
5. The motto of EZA is Love & Respect even when you disagree with someones opinion.
6. Put these together and you have a very straightforward path to take on how to communicate your opinion whilst being firm on what you think is right without personal attacks.
7. I believe the EZA community attacks each other too much which is why I want to bring a sane voice to this conversation.
8. (Bonus point) Believing there are only 2 approaches to this with the first being a gamergater and the second explaining why SNK Heroines is bad in the way that you see fit to do is incredibly narrow minded,
When your online persona is like that Eylos, you're practically on the same level as some of the extreme cases on the subreddit.
There might be one person out there who you can engage with though. Not everyone is going to stonewall your approaches and I think it's worth every effort if it's something you believe in.I would agree with you but you can't have an honest discussion with these people, they are trolls. You're basically saying 'be nice with how you treat sexists' which I can't get on board with.
I can value whatever I want btw, and I certainly value certain parts of this community over others.
Enough though, I'm ready to move on.
You offended me and asked people to not offend other people. And talked about love and respect.
