Despite the hiccups in the beginning a single-elim FT5 43 person bracket ran in about 2 hours. Not bad tbh. Not having to worry about assigning stream stations certainly helped. On the other hand it might be worth waiting for everyone to finish their matches before advancing to the next round of matches, we'll see
So, I think I figured out why some people could work the self-reporting and others couldn't. I think the matches needed to be reported in the order listed. That or some permissions issue I'm having a hard time tracking down. Either way, if anyone happened to take a picture of the error they got it would help a ton because whenever I try and test it on the test site I see no issues.
So, just a thing for the future: if you want to make this a weekly/regular thing you could pick a day every week and set a round-robin tournament. That way everyone would have a match every week/whatever time you pick. Could even stream more of the matches for each other.
Will have to get some more games in. Typically just play with friends so always good to get a challenge.
Flux is actually one of the best JP players bar-none & up there with the titans of the competitive scene, so it's no surprise that he cleaned up house.
This was super good, even if I did get walloped by Mangos Marisa. I'm down for this on a monthly.

This is quite awesome!
I'm in France I had to play two sets with North American players and it was alright and playable. For these kind of tournaments, I think it's perfectly fine.
Thanks to El Sloth, that was a ton of fun. I can stream the next one if you need to (but we would have to work the logistics) on top of playing my own match.

My 3 matches were all against players from NA, while I'm in Germany. 2 of the matches were against wired opponents with a steady 1 rollback frame. I'd call that very playable! One match was against a wifi player with a more fluctuating 2+ rollback frames, but still kinda playable, kinda not.
I don't know from which coast they were, so I might have a significantly worse experience with a player from west coast.

Loved the tournament, even tho I got 0-5'd by a stronger Zangief.
If I have one suggestion, it would be to have a recap post under the first OP post that have all our ID/CFN stuff up to date, so that we don't have to hunt for the right code when we have to start our matches. Other than that, it was perfect!

My only opinion about the tournament (besides my enjoyment of it) is that I hope this is streamed in some capacity next time.

Currently considering the 2nd Sunday of every month... but the 2nd Sunday next month is Mother's Day lol. So, maybe the 19th. That said, nothing is set in stone yet.
I would like to make this happen, but I'm a bit limited by my equipment to be honest. I'll see what I can make happen though! I've got plenty of time to experiment until the next one. I'll aim for at least some video with game audio, quality notwithstanding.
