A lot of new stuff in 3.0 feel too cheesy to me like
But I still liked it for what it is.
Now having seen the 10 mins preview of 3.0+1.0 I fully embrace where ever it'll go. I'm not gonna worry about it even if it turns bad because the originals are still there and these are good visual supplements.
the whole Wunder, double entry plugs, full beast mode, infinity, gendo's cool dude cyber shades, etc.
But I still liked it for what it is.

There is a very heavy feel to the footage they shown, but then there is also Kaworu smiling at Shinji.
It looks to be an emotional movie, and that cut of Fuyutsuki and Rei is really about emotional breakdown and manipulation.

I wonder if Shinji is having dreams/visions of Kaworu, 'cause if he is it's gonna be pretty bad for him when he learns that Kaworu manipulated him.

Didn't we also get a panty shot in 2.0 right after which Shinji's face comes into contact with her crotch?
As for the trailer, looks like the movie picks up right after 3.0. I guess after the opening sequence we flash back somewhat.
Very, very late in the movie probably.
Scene 299 and the Wunder is still powered, so Unit 01 is still being used as a battery power to that point.

Seems like a good portion of the film is Shinji/Rei Q/ Asuka walking together and working their shit out.

No she's called "tentative name: Rei Ayanami".
She doesn't have a name but Shinji calls her Rei.

The shock in her face certainly wouldn't happen in a permanently stone faced Rei clone
It is not really clear which number Rei Q is. She does not appear to be the same as the one in Eva 2.0,. So she is at least Rei II (if she even is a follow up of the other one). We never saw the same backstory as in NGE iirc, so there is no way to tell there was a Rei before the one we see in 1.0/2.0
She should be inside Eva 01 right now, right? I do feel like that's the "main" Rei of the series but we will see.
I honestly don't keep track of all the Reis.

According to Fuyutsuki, Rei-02 is stored inside Unit-01 with Yui.
Fuyutsuki is a more reliable source of information.
The Rei in 3.0 is just one of many as Asuka says. There is probably a huge number of Rei that were used by Gendo in the timeskip.
Checking Wikipedia theatric release made 50% more money but it sold far less blu-ray iirc (my usual wbesite to check BR sales died a year ago), I don't know how much of the growth in overall revenue for the theatric release is due to inflation as well.
In any case I don't think it's a clear cut answer, we'll see how the latest one fare but 6y gap might have hurt the IP (or not, after all who knows and I'm no expert)

Well, a quick Google Image Search didn't show any Mari merch on the level of that Misato statue where she's posed on her knees, her shirt is open, and her skirt is falling off and down to about mid-thigh, so the poster was right in that regard.

An EOE level event happened after 2.0 and Kaworu managed to interrupt it by sacrificing Unit 06.
That shot in the 2.0 preview is our only clue in that movie to all of it happening.
3.0 shows you the aftermath.
Ah gotcha. Watched 2.0 preview of 3.0 again and there sure are a lot of stuff to chew on.
Mark.06 was not piloted by Kaworu in that scene, we know that it was autonomous (so presumably it was the Dummy System).
The details of what happened inside Central Dogma are very unclear and hard to guess. Something happened for sure.

It's a very ambitious movie with some of the best cinematography in anime.
