It's the most minor thing ever, but wouldn't mind them making it a bit easier to switch Crafting specialties. Just buy a Soul of the Crafter with scrips and then equip it or add the Specialist NPC's menu to a drop-down in the Scrip Exchange. Why do you have to to talk to some random NPC next to the Astrologian's Guild (?????????) and I can never remember where they are without looking at Google.
I only mention it because they improved the QoL on having to visit an NPC to collect Achievement rewards, so this is exactly the type of things they're making changes on.
I figure the NPC location made more sense when it was just ARR and Heavensward, but with 3 more expansions since then the world is a whole lot larger and his location feels weirdly out of place.
That NPC has my favorite lore in the game, though! Can't specialize in 4 classes because you'd die and he won't let another person throw their life away.
(...there's also a big Soul icon on the map where they're standing. Not that it's ever easy to see icons when they're close to other stuff, of course.)
They could probably stand to rework some of the Ishgard NPC stuff in general, though. Apparently Empyreum doesn't have some of the usual housing ward vendors/traders, because they want you to go out to the existing Ishgard spot with them that's also near that NPC? It's weird.
Or ya, overhaul the entire Specialist system. Literally the only time it ever made any difference to me was when I was competing for Saint of the Firmament rankings and the extra stats and ability to use Crafter's Delineations for extra Observes was extremely useful to fish for "Good" condition before Byregot's.
Other than that, I only use it to craft some things that drop from Extreme trials or whatever, like the bardings.
The new specialist action is pretty good too; IIRC it's being used for expert macros because it lets you easily manage the progress step at the end.
So that should come in handy for the real thing if they... actually do experts again... please...
They've added specialist exclusive crafts now (or at least Endwalker was the first time I noticed them). So they aren't fully useless as you need to limit yourself to what specialty things you want to make (such as the Susanoo weapons or certain orchetron scrolls).
Yup, and this is true for every patch! The latest extreme-related glam weapons are always specialist-only for a patch. So are the current extreme's orchestrions, furniture, and barding.
It's why I ever actually have to switch specializations. Though it's usually easy enough to constantly be ARM and some combination of BSM/ALC/GSM depending on what other people aren't selling.
