I suspect there would be higher stock in Europe as part of Sony's overall strategy and why they are launching a week later here and in ROTW so they can give adequate time to get these in to the channel in quite specialised markets. Overall Xbox or PS5 being number 1 on daily or hourly charts means absolutely nothing - both are out of stock and Xbox went out of stock more recently. The yearly charts are an interesting indicator of stock into respective retail channels though.

This data is completely pointless, the only thing you can pull from it is:

PS5 had far more stock than XSX in EU.
Despite PS5 having far more stock than XSX it still sold out much faster.

So the only thing you can discern from that is PS5 is more popular than XSX at this point. If you look into worldwide Google search trends for the past month PS5 has had a clear lead over Xbox all month apart from yesterday when it was above PS5 but it has already dropped below PS5 in search trends now.

I think the one important take away here is that the Logitech M185 has this generation on lock.

The Xbox Series X/S is launching in 37 countries, but do we know how many the PS5 is launching in?

Just curious how to know how both companies are spreading these out.

After 24h since Amazon Pre-Orders unlock and as we speak Xbox Series X is:

#1 Best Seller in Amazon France, surpassing PS5

#1 Best Seller in UK

#1 Best Seller in Italy

#1 Best Seller in Spain

#1 Best Seller in Germany

#1 Best Seller in USA

#1 Best Seller in Canada

An incredible feat managed by Microsoft, especially with the final Bethesda-nuke drop.

Cool spin bro, this is the last 24 hours which isn't anything to get excited about considering the console was released for pre-order a day ago.

Below is the accurate indicator of where the consoles are at after the pre-orders. But again this means NOTHING, it merely shows who had the most stock available at Amazon as both consoles are sold out.

Bestseller for 2020 so far

France. PS5#85 XSS/XSX not in top 100

UK. PS5#9 XSX#45 XSS not in top 100

Germany. PS5#15 XSX#83 XSS not in top 100

US. XSX#38 X1S#49(lol) XSS and PS5 not in top 100

Canada. PS5#76 XSS and XSX not in top 100

So US is again Xbox's strongest market OR they flooded US with more units then PS5. Couldn't get Italy and Spain's 2020 chart to show.

7 countries on November 12th, the rest of the world November 19th.

As if that "rest of the world" is more or less than the 37 countries, I don't know, but I would expect the same or more.

US is wrong. PS5 hasn't been added to the videogame category yet for whatever reason. It doesn't exist in the best sellers charts.

Probably referring to the fact that you are giving a fanboy response to a inaccurate fanboy post and your history is full of fanboy posts.

As it has been pointed out several times in this thread. Ps5 seems to have had more stock than the xbox, it has also sold out MUCH faster. This seems to be true for all markets other than the US

God, how I missed these Amazon chart threads and the bickering that resulted. We're truly in a new console gen!

aren't both sold out everywhere on Amazon?
Then of course it's a matter of number of units

maybe knowing how quickly they sold out would be the only good parameter right now, but I suppose that's impossible for us to know

I updated the OT with amazon FR, Germany and US result. In the coming days weeks eventual mistakes in the charts will be fixed by Amazon (ie one console non being in videogames category etc.)

You should specify in the OP that the PS5 being out of the top 100 in the US doesn't mean anything, its not ranked anywere, it creates the wrong impression.

Also you can look at the monthly charts for an extra comparison, here's the UK: https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/bestsellers/2020-09/videogames/ref=zg_bs_tab_t_bsar

PS5 #1
XSX #3
XSS #11
PS5d #16

So interestingly series S had more stock than the PS5 digital in the UK.

I think it shows different, that PS5 stock was higher than Xbox's as it is ahead of Xbox in every market we have shown, and as someone else mentioned, it seems the PS5 listing is broken in the states as it doesn't even show up in videos games.
Which would be something UK-wise as the digital edition vanished in under three minutes. I'm curious what others put the XSX having lasted as the disc PS5 was around 15 but the X seemed to go pretty rapidly yesterday morning. Went up a little prior on Amazon smile so obscures it a little.

Judging by the European rankings, especially in bigger countries, I think it's obvious that the stock was very low. It has nothing to do with its position in relation to the Series X. I should have clarified.

Anecdotal:

Where I live in the Middle East (Kuwait) the biggest retailer here is called Xcite, they had 1500 PS5 that where sold out in 3 hours, in the other hand XSX only had 200 pieces to be preordered and they where open days before the official world wide preorder date that was mandated by Microsoft, still though not yet sold out and yesterday in one of the more than 10+ branches one of the employees told me they only sold 1 XSX console the whole day.

I can guess the situation is repeated through out the region.

I think the fact we don't know exactly where it lists because Amazon botched the categorization of the listing itself means we can't really tell how well stocked it is in the states. It could be #1, but until it gets fixed we won't have anything to go off of. I don't expect it to be lower than the Xbox.

If I was wrong then you have my apologies. Looking at your last post page it's mostly stuff than can be seen as positive towards Microsoft and negative towards Sony. I'm happy to edit my post if you want.

Also, I can clarify that I definately prefer Playstation over Xbox. Not saying it's better or anything along those lines, just that the IPs are more to my taste and I prefer to stay in the ecosystem

Thank you. I'll specify that there is an error on Amazon US. Yeah i think XSS was up pretty much the entire day on Amazon Uk while the PS5 De went sold out in minutes.

Those who buy consoles at launch are enthusiasts. The Series S isn't targeted towards them.

Give it 1-2 years to build some mindshare and marketing, perhaps a price-drop, and then you'll see Series S being the dominant Xbox SKU.

Also, Series S was literally announced less than a fortnight ago.
I thought the thinking was that the Series S would be selling out quickly because of the insane value, now it's let's give it two years and another price drop?

The fucking console wars here have gotten so bad we need to take screenshots of how well a product is listing at a specific time of day.

Console war already re-start?
PS5 will sell more than XSX+XSS combined. There is no question about it and I am saying this as a Xbox fan.
I would expect XSX+XSS can do better than Xbox One. Will XSX+XSS reach 360 level? Not sure about it.

That was the thinking, the XSS being at $299 made it seem like it was going to sell gangbusters and that was the idea for a few days, but now that it isn't selling out makes people change their thought process on it.

Good to see xbox in top 100 Germany,Spain,FR but they need to do more in terms of marketing.

I hope they will have healthy user base in Europe like 360.

Pretty sure with megaton exclusives & megaton marketing they will be happy with their EU market.

PS5 will be massive in EU holy shit.

You just looked at one page and assumed I'm an Xbox fanboy, I got banned twice for criticising the graphics of Halo Infinite. Jeez, can people just speak their mind and not be called a fanboy...

299 is better for walk in sales.

Series X is the hardcore console aimed at hardcore gamers who preorder consoles. I wouldn't read much I to the lower series s sales just yet, it's still likely to be the top selling console for xbox.
