I kind of like it. I kick the shit out of my teammates in three races and even get to dumpster them as we race to the next location. It's like going 5-0 in a tournament.
It would be better if Playground handled it like a point to point race in the Horizon Open like the Free Roam Rush in FH4. If it was randomized it would be pretty fun. That was the biggest issue I had with the Free Roam rush in the 4 since online vets knew the optimal routes for every free roam race. Even though I was able to get a high rank I never memorize the optimal routes (probably too much dope when I was younger lol) and I either got lucky or completely messed up and ruined my chances at a championship victory.

In tour it just seems like a time waster since the Tour is co-op.

I hate this game (bugs). So I completed all events in the season but didn't get the achievement. Looking back the game is not counting the treasure hunt of the summer week, despite marking it as completed.

Everything completed except the bugged treasure this season. They better fucking retroactively give that to everyone.
Also ein 2 eliminators today. Getting used to the Vocho. Sticking more to roads whenever possible seems to work.

Anyone have that screenshot of all the Horizon Tour times for the hour? The one posted here a week or two ago seems to have been deleted.

For me is even worse cause I do that treasure hunt, the game accounted the points but in the next week it substrates it from the total, even still showing the event as completed. I have all events in gold but no achievement.

I wish there was a way to get some of the formula drift cars on a normal edition. Like the exhaust out the bonnet, the seats, and such like.

Whoever made the decisions to "drive " to the next event in Horizon Open should get pubished.

It's just a waste of players time.

Beat the hoonibg stuff though for this week. Finally got a team mate who was blocking all the AI with me so my team could win

It wouldn't bother me as much if the load times with horizon open weren't so long. The time loading, driving to location and then loading into a race is longer than the race itself. It's the only mode that has long loads like this and I don't understand why.

For people on Series X, what graphic mode have you settled on? I was on Quality 95% of the time since release, but I've switched over to performance now and it's hard to go back honestly. It's just so smooth and handles great.

I've been quality since day 1. It's honestly still great to play plus there's a lot less pop in, which is something I can't stand.

It's less stable for me this week. Have had some disconnects, and even though it says live I get no other players. Also arcades don't show up half the time atm.

I thought that was the unique thing Tour had, where Freetown Rush was removed from all other open racing but Tour had it. Tour being the easy, comfortable, show-off-your-liveries and just enjoy the cruise with the group mode, I've felt it made perfect sense. It's my favorite mode for that reason. Heck, I'd by equally fine if there was no racing and it was just a mode where you cruised from point-to-point.

Meanwhile the rest of the cast benefitted heavily from not having freeroam rush, so the removal there was great.

Did the trial first time this week but only because everyone but two of us dropped out after the first race. The rain is making it harder for most people it seems even in the slower B class cars.

Car got stuck right before the finish line in the eliminator when I had a huge lead. Pause screen wouldn't let me reset my car's position. What the fuck.

Yeah, if you get stuck in Eliminator, your only option is to wait until the notification option to reset appears in the normal driving view (i.e. not in a menu). It's dumb.

that is one of the game problems, multiplayer modes don't have s car reset option (and it should have a faster way to reset cars in any mode anyway).

I guess I hadn't noticed until now, pretty annoying.

On the bright side, I'm already done with all the playlist stuff this week except for the remaining daily challenges. Though did anyone else earn points before doing anything? I had the Horizon Tour and today's daily marked as done when I logged in. I also had a few points counted towards the other weeks before doing the Rivals challenge or anything else.

I wish they'd just go to what car you need. Trailblazer is a Ford bronco, but each one I've used so far is the wrong one.

it's a dune buggy lookin' thing that you get as a reward in one of the weekly championships. I didn't realize we'd get it and bought one for like $500k. Whoops.
Fuuuuuuuuuu

I'm streaming on my phone to knock out some of the weekly stuff at work and I didn't notice and just did that trailblazer. Hopefully it's a good super wheel spin!

Another monthly trial, another leaderboard full of cheating! I dunno why they don't just ask some of the fast community members to do their quickest laps and then make it so if you go a certain percentage faster than that then the lap time isn't valid. Although I guess people cheating just make it so they get within that legal time.

I thought a B-class Trial would be easy and tried to do a purist tune on the Porsche.
But of course, they stick us in the pissing rain, so AWD is practically mandatory.

It's pretty awkward because the races need different types of cars. The first is a circuit, the next is a fast sprint, the last is a twisty, uphill sprint.
I think the Ferrari GTB , Dino or Porsche is the best.
I've tried a bunch of different tunes and each car handles quite differently, which makes a change from a lot of car categories. I guess it's because the "rare classics" cover a wide range of ages, styles and engine types.
The Dino is very slippery unless you add rear downforce, while the GTB seems better with low downforce. The Porsche seems very easy to drive, and is the only car I've ever seen where adding rear aero (with AWD) costs a lot of PI. Not sure what's going on there. Front aero is also quite cheap for all the cars, so I'm not sure if it's worthwhile for more grip in the wet conditions.

Winning the races is really tough, since 1 or 2 AI will usually be really good, but coming 3rd or 4th is not too hard - especially if your car is tuned for a good launch.

Yeah, the AI is bugged too. The second race it jumps so far out into the lead it's almost impossible to chase down.

I used a Toyota 2000GT tune by Awesome Beau, and it decimated all (except for that one race where I came in 2nd).

I don't mind different classes in the trials each week, but, the AI needs to either have each level adjusted, or the traction/grip on the AI engine be adjusted to reflect real world physics.

When you're stuck, make sure you continue holding RT (or whatever you use to accelerate), as I don't think it'll detect that you're stuck if you're not overturned, otherwise.

I did finally win The Eliminator recently, but it was, overall, a pretty poor experience. I realize that you can probably get past this by knowing the map better, but the map is freaking massive, and the sheer number of huge rocks hiding in the foliage in otherwise open areas is ridiculous.

Also, I really wish they'd change up the car selection in The Eliminator, and it'd be nice if they'd tune the starting Beetle a bit so it can actually climb reasonably well. At least the Mini Cooper you started with in 4 was pretty competitive. The Beetle in 5 is a complete turd. They should source tunes from the community on occasion for each car class and incorporate them into The Eliminator.

Good weekly Forzathon challenge. I love the LFA in FH5. It seems to be better than in FH4 to drive.

Got a good tune going and I just tore up the AI on the circuits and colossus. Other than a few moments of rubber banding I couldn't even see the AI behind me on the map. I love when you find a fun car to drive and just enjoy the tearing up a track.

This car was a nice surprise with how nice it felt to drive. I stuck it straight into my favourites.

Guess I've been getting lucky with my trial teammates. Took me 3 tries since I drove horribly the first 2 times. 3rd try my team dominated to the point we all occupied the first 6 places and 2nd race we had top 5 so carried the last guy to victory who had 0 lol.

Are the Forza Horizon servers down? Every time I try to get into the game, I get told that the servers are down and the festival playlist is reverting to a "fallback" playlist where the only prizes for the series/seasons are wheelspins?

Easiest Trial to date. I was able to escort the AI for my teammates in the first race but it was a little tricky in the second with it being a sprint. Love that the Forzathon is the LFA. Look for purist builds. That engine was born to sing.

My trial was a breeze, everyone left leaving me to slow down the AI for the other driver for an easy last two races

Took a PC restart for some reason but managed to connect to the Horizon servers again. While troubleshooting, I loaded the game on XSX (which worked totally fine of course) and man, more power to the people who can play on Quality mode but it's always rough dropping back to 30fps.

Trial was pretty easy this week, and my team was pretty respectful! Only some hits in the turns because of people braking too late for the wet conditions, something I also misjudged a few times. The Mini championship was pretty difficult stock, especially the race in the west that's mostly straights, but upgrading the John Cooper Works street-spec Mini worked out just fine.

Loving the love for the LFA here. Honestly one of my favorite cars ever made and if I had some spare money for it I would buy it no questions asked.

I see one parked at my gym everyday. One time I asked the guy who owns it and he did let me drive it for a bit. What an awesome bro!

So I can't buy more than one spin now. What's the point in FP then, cos every car that comes up I already own? And now Arcade seems pointless, as it rewards you with something I'm not spending. Maybe give us the option to choose either FP or skill points.

Really, can we only buy one spin per week in FH5?
I've never bothered with them, but I'm getting to the point where the shop isn't going to have much else to offer me (and I bought a Speedtail at auction earlier in the week, which was an annoying "waste" of over a million credits).

I've spent way more time than is sensible looking at the Trial and dicking about in the tuning menus, since it is a perfect test stage for wet races.
The secret sauce for this weeks trial is SNOW TYRES.
It seems that the strength of snow tyres is on any slippery road surface, not just snow.
They are terrible in the dry, but essentially ignore the water on the track and perform about the same in any conditions.
So despite their huge PI cost compared to stock or whitewall-vintage, they make the trial races much easier. Especially races 1 and 3, which have a lot of tight turns.

Conversely, drag tyres are a sneaky low cost upgrade in some dry B-class races, since they have very good grip if you keep them on hot asphalt. They are absolutely awful in the rain (yes I tried them).

The Toyota does really well with a Snow tyres tune, as does the Ferrari GTB (they'll need an I6 engine swap). They don't work as well on the Dino, where it's probably overkill on grip (whitewalls and a lot of rear downforce are good enough).

Scouring the map for the last three missing chunks of road has me really wishing they continued playing the radio when you open the map.

Even on stock tires the dino handles very well due to small size, weight, and option to add very wide tires, I tried making a 2000GT build myself but could never get a good handling/power distribution on it

For god sakes, the game keeps wiping out my seasonal progress every time I restart. Anything I completed is just gone. All the LF stuff I did today, it's gone. The seasonal championships kept restarting on me last season so good to know these things that are supposed to keep me playing long term are pointless for me to even attempt.
