It does. Leaves just enough mystery for a possible sequel (believe) but all in all it wraps up well. Albeit with a few plot holes.

Undocumented changes (not mentioned by Sony):
- Sending/Receiving Challenges: You'll no longer be able to challenging other players (random or friends) to beat your "ghost" in a Challenge. These challenges can currently be accessed via the menu, or appear as "Gold" Kats in the game world.
- Browse ranking: Both the worldwide Dusty Tokens charts and all of the 20 in-game Challenge leaderboards are being removed. You'll no longer be able to see how your score compares to the rest of the world.
- Receiving and posting Treasure Hunts: This is probably the most popular online mode, where you can search for the location of a treasure chests by means of a photo taken by another player. Think of the photo as the equivalent of a treasure map.
- Receiving, posting and reviewing photos:: You can take photos in-game and then upload them for others to review. These appear as "blue" Kats throughout the game world. By interacting with them, you can vote whether or not you like the photo. This will also be removed.
- Earning Dusty Tokens and rewards: Dusty Tokens are earned by participating in some of the above online modes. There are 10 unique rewards that can be unlocked this way, including a talisman that allows for infinite shifting. When the servers go down, new players won't be able to unlock these rewards.
- Ghosts of the Fallen: If you die in the dungeon-like "Delvool Trench Mine" challenges (consisting of 50 layers, each with their own challenge), your ghost would be left behind, along with half of the items you had collected so far. Other players could find your ghost and collect those items. When the online servers go down, you'll no longer encounter ghosts from other players.
- Treasure Chest items: there are a total of 58 unique in-game items that can be found in treasure chests. Without the online "Treasure Hunts" functionality, finding these becomes a near-impossible task.
The most disappointing game of the year, bar none. So many unforgivable design decisions, and only one design decision I liked (Lunar mode).
I never imagined a sequel to the rather-janky-but-charming Gravity Rush would actually end up worse - it seemed like a case where it could only get better.
I could talk about the stuff I hated in Gravity Rush 2 all day - the story, the characters, the pacing, the combat system, the camera, the boss fights, the mining, the talisman system, the dusty token system, the overly-large world and subsequent traversal times, the side quests, the stealth sections... but I won't because this is an OT and I'm just posting this to make sure people try the demo before buying. Anyway, the usual rebuttal to these arguments is typically "But Kat is cute so it's okay" - which is what I imagine the designers were thinking while making the game.
Honestly saying the game is mediocre would be too kind. It's bad.
PM me if you want me to add you. I joined the Dusty GameFAQ community group because its the biggest one I know. (I believe its called Dusty Farming 2.0)
People having been having success just adding people from it, I suggest you do the same.

The least they can do (if they shut down the servers) is make most of the things available through them available to all in offline mode.
January 19th.I remember they're planning to shut down GR2 server, but when?
This is going to sound horrible but: I like that costume and totally forgot to redeem my code, so thank you for reminding me to check for that now. Hopefully someone else who doesn't like it also forgot to check their emails from Amazon like me. :x
My friend bought the game 3 days ago and they have already hit 1000 tokens. Obtaining 6000 tokens before the servers shut down is still very possible.
Yeah, we've been in a "special event" since it was announced that the servers would shut down.Didn't they double the coin take in? I was planning on installing the game and trying to get a few more. That, and trying to grind out more SF5 fight money before they change that up too.
Hm, not necessarily. Treasure hunts, challenges, and photo reviews are pretty much just things that I do along the way as I play as I usually would (just flying about and advancing the main story and doing sidequests at my own pace). Before I started, I did worry at least a little that I could wind up getting burnt out on it, but it's gone more smoothly than anticipated so far. The fact that the game has been more generous in handing out the tokens ahead of the shutdown helps a great deal.I'm sad I'm so late to the party, treasure hunting looks fun.
Grinding those tokens before shutdown would probably make me hate the game, so I'll pass. I want those costumes but not that much.

So you don't wanna shit on the game cuz it's the OT but you do it anyway? Lol I mean you're free to talk negative on it if that's how you feel about it but I don't see what the point of the facade was.
I'm thinking of getting the game in the holiday sale, should I?
Please note I did not play the 1st game, is it a must to understand the plot?
There are plot points from the 1st you'll miss out on, but they're not huge and complex plot points, and they do get explained in 2 for newcomers to the series, so you'd be fine imo.I'm thinking of getting the game in the holiday sale, should I?

Yep. No contest.
I got this in the last EU psn sale when it was 20 and I'm having quite the problem wanting to play it. I've reachedalready, have the three gravity variants, but to get here I've had to skip a lot of secondary missions. That's my problem, it's something I'd never have done to Kat, but those I've played have been mostly shit. I'm not doing challenges either but that's something I usually do later on, with more power level. But the side missions are bothering me.Hekseville
Not only that, upon arrival to this location, I was getting engaged in the main story at last, but now I'm kinda lost here. It's been nice getting here though.
Personally if you enjoy completing the challenges and do some treasure hunts it isn't so bad. I also took some screen shots and rated a few other shots that I found. I think it would be better to work on it a little bit at a time as you progress rather than try to grind it out once you're done but maybe that's just me.I'm sad I'm so late to the party, treasure hunting looks fun.

I just finished about 20 mins ago. Amazing ending. It feels like I just wrapped up two seasons of a brilliant 90s anime. I'm completely satisfied and I love how they left the right questions unanswered.
Yep. No contest.
I need to replay it because I forget a lot of the story, but the ending was incredibly badass.
