The DLC hunting grounds? You can, the fireplace icon just gets overlapped by the groundskeeper icon. Zoom in and you can fast travel :P
Not true. I've tried zooming all the way out and in and the campfire icon still won't show up. It has to be a bug and I hope a widespread one so there can be a chance they might fix it.

Holy fucking shit, 500 ropes and 8000 rattler rounds later I finally finished the triple Frostclaw fight on Ultra Hard. I deserve a medal for that ordeal. I swear the last one had twice as many hit points as the first two as well.

80 hours later. Boom, done!!

Yes, yes, I see the new game+.

But that is a 4k HDR exclusive trophy. Played all 80 on my 1080p tv. Another Horizon playthrough deserves 4k HDR, so I am definitely saving it for that. Ultra shouldn't be too hard. Frozen Wilds character will the best mods and outfit at level 60.

Holy shit you platinumed thevgame and 100% the DLC in 80 hours? Jesus Christ do I waste a lot of time sightseeing. I platinumed the game in 85 and am 105 in and close to finishing the DLC but with 50% of DLC trophies still lacking.

Heh, I didn't rush either. Mind you, I'm missing quite a few datapoints. But yeah, not sure how you are 15 hours over me. I'm gonna go ahead and assume sightseeing......for 15 hours. lol.

Yeah. I got 100% everything in about 90 hours including all datapoints. I did a lot of exploring too, like manually uncovering every inch of the map I could before even going for the tallnecks and I crafted every single ammo pouch upgrade. An extra 10 or so hours isn't really all that much at this scale though.

Still scratching the surface of the sheer content of what's happening in The Frozen Wilds. So good.

This is the best DLC I've played since The Old Hunters and Blood & Wine. Easily better than that excuse of an expansion that I paid for Zelda. Wish it took a page out of this.

What part of the hunting grounds are you having trouble with on normal?
lol all of them honestly, doing that shit speedily is tough as hell. i probably need to just suck it up and be insanely wasteful with ammo, though

as for the 'fourth' trial, I can probably do that one well as long as I'm super careful about saving the hardpoint arrows for the end

On normal you should just be blasting through the machines in no time. Stack +damage mods on your hard point arrows and go to town. If you have the upgraded icerail and/or stormslinger, they will wreck everything.

Why are the DLC weapon upgrade quests back in the base area? That's kinda strange, I don't even have any fast travel points unlocked near them either.

Any advice for the Hunting Grounds in this one? Shit is haaaaaard.

Freeze + spamming Sticky Bombs is a nice and low-skill way to cheese pretty much any fight. When done right you can pretty much stun lock everything.

EDIT: Huge patch that addresses several of the progression bugs people have (like the Insulated Outfit Weave failing to spawn, for instance) announced.

Saw this in the official guide, I always thought the damage scaling between very and ultra hard wasn't too much and this confirms it.

I feel that the biggest difference between VH and UH is that, on UH, all aggro-ed enemies will attack you simultaneously, relentlessly, whereas lower difficulties they kind of take turns. That makes some encounters much more difficult to manage.

In ultra hard the robots have a radius of vision boost and attacks/aftercast have less delay.

I have the same trophies, 100% in both the main game and The Frozen Wilds. Only two trophies I'm missing are the NG+ ones. I actually finished it last night. My play time is 63 hours and I wasn't rushing at all. Took lots of screenshots, random exploring, revisiting areas, etc. I honestly don't even know how someone would get to 100 hours.

When I got my platinum (first week of HZD launch), I had 105 hours.

Funny that most people don't have that Ultra Hard and finish on NG+ trophy. I do, and it's made me unable to change the difficulty in the DLC without playing the whole game over again. Ultra Hard in this game is no joke :(.

I don't know how that's humanly possible on a first playthrough.

Corruption arrows are 100% getting a nerf in Horizon 2.

Playing some of the frozen wilds, and there is this area with like 5 or 6 tramplers. I'm assuming GG was supposed to make it this cool combat encounter and take them out skillfully?

Just hanged back, and a few arrows later, they did all the work for me.
I stumbled upon that exact same spot last night, and did the same thing, some other machine became involved with the tramplers, but it sure was fun to watch.

The default one is meh, but the upgraded one is pure cheese. Pop a lightning resist potion, wear a lightning resist armour (or the shieldweaver, which I did), and you can facetank/Rambo your way through most encounters.
Did NOT even think about doing this. I have not found a use for any of the new weapons as they use up so many resources and I'm about to restart the UH NG+ using the DLC gear, and wanted to save some resources.

Two words

ROPE CASTER
This was my method in my original UH NG+ outing, but then you end up having to grind for "wire" resources as you run out so amazingly fast.

Normal difficulty. Main game 100% was just under 50 hours if I remember correctly and The Frozen Wilds 100% was about 13-14. Only way I can imagine some of these super long play times is NG+ added on, some of the harder difficulties, never fast travelling, or some combination. It obviously doesn't matter at all, I was just surprised some people had 100 hours. Another idea is that maybe you guys were getting all datapoints and stuff. I just did everything that there was a trophy for.

Difficulty definitely was a factor. I'm playing on hard and I got my ass kicked repeatedly so that's a thing for sure. Also taking down enemies on hard I assume must take longer due to less damage being made or them having higher HP or both.

I'm pretty sure I'm right at 100 hours, I played the entire campaign on hard then Very Hard at the end, but I think more of my excess time was just playing in the sandbox fighting machines, or exploring all the map and grinding parts.

Does the DLC fit the main story seamless? I haven't played the game yet and plan to do so in the holidays. Since the complete edition is just right around the corner I might pick that up if the DLC fits right in or buy a cheap copy of the main game only.

It does, but more than that, it gives you some extensive late game content for when you've powered up to the point where you've had to up the difficulty to keep the challenge. It also gives you some new very powerful weapons that would seem to work well in Ultra Hard NG+. After I 100% the DLC, I'm going to restart NG+ with that save and find out.

Yes, Frostclaws and Scorchers gang bang you constantly. They can be fairly far away and then be on you within a second with their leap attack or ranged moves. There's also the fact that you're low on resources 24/7 on UH.

Have you installed the latest patch? They have addressed this issue.

Cauldron Epsilon Datapoints locations after finishing "The Forge of Winter" [Horizon Zero Dawn: The Frozen Wilds]

Are you able to spoiler post the actual contents of the datapoints? Thanks.

Damage received is still quite a lot more though.

True, but shield weaver makes that mostly irrelevant. You absorb that damage, recover health and get back in the fight.

I haven't found the Shield Weaver too useful on Ultra Hard. One or two quick hits from a strong enemy completely wipes out the shield leaving you with zero protection for several seconds.

Beat the Frozen wilds over the weekend. Wow amazing, definitely my Game of the Generation, probably top 3 game for me. Loved every minute of it. Now the long fucking wait til Horizon 2.
