Let us pray that Sony buys them and they can make more twin stick shooters instead of chasing shitty trends like they are with Stormdivers.

Then say that....dont mince words and try to act like its for my own good. Its a pragmatic business decision.

Its understandable, everyone needs to make a living and everyone needs to eat.

I generally hate acquisitions but if them being bought is what brings them back to making arcade games... I'll allow it

If Housemarque does another Twin Stick shooter, it'll likely just be to get back on their feet. You can tell the studio wants to be seen as something bigger. Which I don't blame them for, they deserve it. Much like Bend did after all that time of making smaller fare for a time until Days Gone.

You must not have been around here or the old place for the past couple of years if you don't think people got upset over Bayo 2 or SMT 5

They literally said they are done with arcade games so I'm not sure why so many think that is simply because they weren't selling and not also because they want to move on to something bigger. I think this unannounced game will be their big shot.

And that's reasonable for Housemarque. They make absolutely amazing games and don't get the recognition (or sales) they deserve. They made pretty much the best launch titles for both the Vita and PS4. Nex Machina wasn't appreciated nearly as much as it should have been on the platforms they released it on.

So yes, for some devs, exclusive deals are absolutely necessary.

It's almost like people have different opinions and this forum isn't a hivemind.

I think you're on the verge of uncovering a huge conspiracy.

I'd prefer AA twin-stick shooters tbh.
I'm basically suggesting they take that to the next level with a much bigger game.

So it'll be a game about those cube explosions in anime?
All types of cube explosions! A world made out of those sweet voxels.

Guess this is a soft-confirmation that their AAA game that was rumored is being funded by Sony

Their games are not system seller don't see why Sony would want them
Not every game needs to be of that caliber, especially when you already have a handful with GoW, Horizon, Uncharted, TLoU, etc. The game just adding diversity to their lineup is just as important tbh

Why won't Housemarque say who the game is for? They don't have to say what the game is, just who it is for.

I think you have to look at the long term with studio acquisitions. It is about where they can be years from now rather than where they are at this moment. Think of Naughty Dog pre-Sony and post-Sony. It is all about growth and what role they can play in the lineup.

I can't even imagine what an AAA Housemarque game would look like. We are going to find out though. I'm guessing it will be sci-fi.
The thought of it is hyping me up. Just give them the budget and time to go wild with a big world designed with voxels.

I might as well watch porn. Same ending.

If it's life or death for a team, then I guess take that check. But I'll buy it for PS4 or Steam if/when it comes to those (not to exclude Xbox I just don't have one).

I would also take another Outland style game :P
I still think Outland is the best title they have put out. Man, I loved that game!

I would LOVE another Outland. I also agree Outland is their best game, by far. None of their other games they've made come close to Outland. Oh, and the last boss in Outland was so unbelievably freaking epic. In fact, I loved all the bosses in the game and the music was incredible as well!

Watch they will release on all platforms but get the Epic Money. Face the PC backlash. However, do their games sell that well on PC to begin with?
