Yang will beat Warren in the primaries.

I know a lot will laugh at me for saying this, but come game day I will not be looking so stupid.
I don't mean this in a mean way, but do you pay attention to the polls? Have you watched previous primaries closely? Where does he pick up the delegates to get the nomination?

Yang is a meme campaign, but universal base income and the post-automation future needs to be front and center in any real socioeconomic discussion...so hopefully he (and this single topic) sticks around just a little bit longer.

only a matter of time before he starts polling above Harris LMAO

I believe one poll in California has this already happening.

Wait, people actually like Yang?

The shithead Bernier/Canadian Trump Supporter(!) on Facebook who I got in an argument with once whose profile I sometimes visit to infuriate myself report for antisemitic/sexist/racist/transphobic/otherwise horrible content started going on about how great Yang was for a bit, so I immediately wrote him off.

You are letting your own hatred of the sort of alt-right shitheel get in the way that Yang is very much the numbers candidate, has properly defined the source of erosion in the states Trump won (manufacturing was lost to automation, a trend in all of the core states Trump won) and still remains the only candidate in this race being realistic about this problem unlike the rest who propose pixie dust "federal jobs guarantees" and is the only one so far to make the correct stand in regards to how education and retraining are really net-negative solutions, even today.

Yang is getting one of the largest sources of Trump voters of any of the candidates running aside from Bernie himself, though it's largely due to the automation argument. In this sense, he's doing what Bernie did in 2016 by mainstreaming serious issues and policies, and much like Bernie was then, people are downplaying the significance of those issues and the role a "sacrificial" candidate has into making them mainstream. Worse, in the case of your post, assume that because the "less than" folk support the candidate it automatically means they're a bad candidate, as that's repeating here too.

Hateful people can be driven to data and fact, as the data here isn't ideologically aligned unless you consider the mainstream political system is a jobs cult, though most are woke enough to see the faults when talking about sustainability and the nature of precarity.

Yang is a pretty good con artist I'll give him that. He paints policies that would on first glance seem pretty good. It just falls apart when you prod him on the details, particularly UBI. So his plan is to tax internet based companies and digital goods and use that money to provide UBI. Great! Except he said before they dont really have a plan to prevent the companies putting the tax back on the customer, nullifying the entire process. His only real answer was we hope they'll play ball.

Well we all know companies just love paying tax right? Essentially hes good at dressing up his campaign, but it seems to do little more than uphold the status quo if they dont plan to actually enforce it upon the companies

Yang is essentially a single issue party running under the Democrat banner, acting the same as typical "Green" parties but focused on job loss/automation as their core issue instead of the environment. Sure he has "policies" for topics outside his wheelhouse but you can tell that's not where his strength lies, and electing someone president based on a single policy idea (even if it is genuinely something to consider like UBI) seems incredibly stupid.

One person who I know who had never voted prior to 2016 but was suddenly fully on board the Bernie Bus, then voted for Trump in the general election, now supports Yang. This person may not be representative of the hundreds of Yang supporters out there, but I suspect they make up a reasonably decent sized block of Yang supporters at least relative to other candidates.

Don't get me wrong, I think Yang is a really thoughtful person. His interview on Ezra Klein's podcast was good to listen to and I appreciate his perspective, but I don't think he's a qualified to be president. I know the qualifications are exceedingly low given the current circumstances, but I don't live in crazy town so I'm discounting the current circumstances.

I'm saying yang will get more pts then Warren in the primary.

I think this post just about sums up your average Yang supporter.

Imagine if all these Yang supporters had actually stormed area 51 to clap alien cheeks. No doubt Yang would win the primary with these green individuals on our side.

I've been starting to think: what if Warren picks him as VP?
Ensures all the memers/young people vote
I love beto, and I'm ok with booker, but yang might fit the VP bill too

Andrew Yang has his demographics but it's not the demographics that Warren needs to win. Democrats don't need to shore up tech bros and jobless memers.

The sheer vitriol spewed towards Yang in this thread is wild.

I don't think he's gonna beat Warren like OP but assuming he continues to gain momentum, picking him for a VP slot would be very very smart.

Ignoring his base like the Bernie Bros in 2016 would be a huge mistake. Hillary probably would've got a lot more votes in the states that mattered if she picked Bernie as VP instead of bland as fuck Tim Kaine.

What does this even mean?

Or is it because I said points instead of delegates?

Yang doesn't even want to be president. He just wants to push UBI as a policy. This guy is not going to get more points than Warren.

If he were to have a role in a White House, the Senior Advisor for Innovation role would be a great fit for him. But that's a supplementary role.

We have another thread about the politically worthwhileness of UBI, and as per usual America is well behind the curve. Even if his idea is a solution to the bloodbath we will face in the next decade, a lot of Americans surely aren't accepting that this is the state of affairs.

I'm highly suspect of crowd sizes at a billionaire's rally.

Especially one whose spiel is giving away money.

Yang's campaign is the complete opposite of what you mentioned. Your friend is probably a better person now that hes part of the Yang Gang. And i'm dead serious.

Been donating to his campaign, glad to see him not only reach his goal, but exceed it. If you want to see change, you gotta push for it. Saying "Yang has no chance but I like him" only serves to hurt his chances. Yall should realize he is gaining even more ground than ever at the right time. Hes got a shot.

UBI is a good idea but at this juncture it would just serve to slow the working class attaining class consciousness for another decade or so, so I'm not on board.

Worker's rights, healthcare and housing should be addressed first.

I must have missed something. I didn't realize Yang was so hated around here.
You haven't been paying attention. Seems this place only likes Asian creation/art like movies, Manga, games, etc. But imo a majority actually hates/Look down on/ and despise Asian " people ". Especially Asians in any role of power or leadership.

Yang seems like a really nice, empathetic, and well intentioned person THAT SAID to even suggest he holds a candle to Warren in terms of policy or polling or general potential presidential competence is bananas. A lot of people see $1000 a month and the tunnel vision sets in. I am a progressive with certain socialist ideals but his notion of UBI would become nothing but a unmanageable cancer.
